- Q: I have 4 green anoles. They are paired into 2 separate tanks, with plenty of space. There is one male and 1 female in each tank. My younger couple seemed to be courting yesterday night but I am not sure. My older couple doesnt get close to eachother often. The average temperature in the tank is 84 degrees. The substrate is desert sand(I bought some eco earth today to replace the sand).. Also, I bought 30 adult female crickets from Petco. I plan on using eco earth as a substrate for them. I was using potting soil before, and they laid PLENTY of eggs, but none hatched. The average temperature was about 85 degrees. It is going to be winter time soon(I'm not sure how helpful that may be)I have an incandescent light fixture for the crickets, and a flourescent UVB bulb for the anoles What do I need to do to keep them moist and warm so they can hatch, and how do I get the anoles to have babies? Any answer is greatly apreciated.
- They have it at my local Agway.
- Q: I have a pretty nice spot i want to use how should I start? I‘ve got a tiller and some old veggie/fruit scraps that I wanted to throw in or should I? I need help Thanks
- Start by tilling the area. I then add organic fertilizers and rake them in. This will attract beneficial insect and other soil beneficial bugs. IF this is your first year gardening you may want to experiment with seedling started from seed, but also by purchasing some seedling from your local nursery. try to stay away from buying 6 pack containers. buy them in 4 in pots. You really dont want to have 6 zuchinni plants around. One plant is enough for a family of four. Same thing with tomatos. I usually only get 3 different tomatos. An early variety, a beef stake for sandwiches, and a cherry for salads and snacking. Try to avoid putting matter into the garden that isn't already composted. Composition requires nitrogen, as well as the plants need nitrogen. Sometimes decomposition process will tie up the nitrogen and deprive your plants of it. Also during composition the soil will heat up and this may also cause your plants problems. Use a compost pile instead. remember that the best tyupe of vegetable is the jsut picked varity, and this includes corn. It doesn't need to be heated to be enjoyed.
- Q: used in horticulture
- Perlite and vermiculite help with drainage. Sand as well. Try mixing those into your potting soil when you re-pot.
- Q: I have tried for vercumilite, pearlite and spaghum moss in shops in my county but cannot seem to get a hold of any. Any other common bedding suitable? i was thinking compost? Thanks
- Uh, actually I prefer long naps! But I'll take a Vitameatavegamin! Considering how my week went, maybe I'll take a whole bottle! Wait! I just had a great idea! I'm going to blend a bottle of Vitameatavegamins into my margaritas tonight! Woo-hoo! Never has health tasted so good!
- Q: my leopard gecko jus had an egg and i picked it up and put it in a container.YES. i was careful and made sure the egg was put in the container the same way it was lying down in the tank. What do i do without a inchubator and vermiculite.
- You don't say what species of reptile you're incubating. If they are cornsnake eggs...unlikely as it's way past laying times...you don't need an incubator. Simply place the eggs in damp perlite, close the lid of the plastic tub and wait. There are many species of snake and lizard that don't require temperatures of more than 80 degrees to hatch eggs and if you have a warm spot that stays about that, you're fine. You can use eco earth, but just as with vermiculite, you run a high risk of smothering the eggs if it's too wet. That can't happen with perlite. You'll also need a thermostat to regulate the heat mat. Place the thermostat probe in the middle of the eggs as most will generate heat the last couple of weeks of incubation. If you use a regular 10 gl tank you'll need something to cover the top to keep the humidity in. If you use a platic tub for your eggs with the perlite or whatever hatching medium you're using then you just close the lid. Make sure condensation does not make drops that fall on the eggs and drown them.
- Q: My female corn snake just shed, so ill need it soon. and i dont want to pay $59.99 for an incubator
- When your compass is in fact a piece of bread.
- Q: The purpose of our experiment is to determine which medium plants grow better in (perlite, Vermiculite, soil, or hydroponically).

- Q: How to transfer hot steel between two workshops?(the convenient way)?
- Conduction by touching you touch an oven and burn your finger
- Q: should i get a crested gecko or a leopard gecko.explain please!
- When my geckos lay their eggs, i take the vermiculite, drench it in warm water, then squeeze it as hard as i can to get the access water out if it. (So it's just warm and moist.) then put the egg in the container (in the vermiculite, but not buried in it) and put a lid in it. In the wild, the geckos don't make a perfect water-vermiculite ratio. (Make sure there is a very small hole in the side other container so the egg can receive oxygen.) Put it in an incubator, or in the tank, or where ever you plan to keep it. Just make sure it stays at a CONSTANT TEMPERATURE. I always keep mine at about 80 degrees. Also, keep it very humid. You'll have healthy baby geckos in no time!
