Q: Hi.I had an inspection done on what will be (maybe) my first home. The inspection revealed vermiculite insulation in the attic with a 5% asbestos content. The problem is that the seller remodeled the house, including vaulting the ceilings, which disturbed half of the attic. It is my understanding that removing or disturbing asbestos insulation without hiring an abatement company is not only unhealthy, but potentially illegal. Should I be concerned that the remodel caused the entire house to be contaminated with asbestos fibers? Is the seller required to do anything to mitigate the impact thier careless remodel caused? Anyone have stories about asbestos to share? Thanks!
sounds like you need to walk away from this deal
Q: Vermiculite has now been used for al least 10 years for light weight concrete blocks and slabs.Note in the text: Predicate (tense), noun-group.Thanks!
Check the heat on his tank, sometimes if it gets uncomfortable for them they will not eat. Or if they are stressed. Its probably just that he's settling back in (hopefully). Try something a little more tasty like meal worms or wax worms, or even super meal worms. If he is not eating and also lethargic, and the temperature is fine in your enclosure, then something may be up and a vet visit (or even calling a vet to quickly ask would be in order). You also want to make sure that he has adequate UV and calcium/vitamins added to his diet as it may be a vitamin deficiency but I couldn't obviously say for sure.
Q: Does anyone know if its possible to seperate the other crap in hot hands from the vermeculite? I need the iron power and vermeculite for a science project and my parents would never let me buy chemicals that they didnt understand.
You can consult a garden store for the best answer
Q: Is it okay??? I put it about an inch deep where he usually goes to hide, and I mist the moss each day. Also, is it okay if I just put in 3 dozen crickets every friday, instead of giving him food every 2 days?
i personally just use eco earth or coconut fiber, and mist daily. too many crickets can over run your reptile if they get hungry from what i've heard. mealworms are a good alternative. i keep a small tub of mealworms in my fridge to feed to my leo throughout the week, and once a week she gets crickets. last weekend she had her first pinky in her 4 year life span, those should be offered as very rare treats though. make sure crickets are dusted with a calcium supplement.
Q: My Gecko has just laid an egg this morning and I knew she was pregnant but not when and we intended to go out today and buy some vermiculite but she has already laid 2 so we have put them in a tuba-wear container with sawdust that will be kept moist and also cling film over the top to hold in moisture, the container is under a spotlight in the geckos tank. Is sawdust ok or bad ?
yes it could be the rubber bushings ! those rubber bushings can squeak when they get worn ! check the rubber bushings like the body mounts and sway bar bushings, if you have to replace them use neoprine bushings, they are better then rubber.
Q: My leo laid 2 eggs about 4 days ago and I put them in the incubator with Vermiculite,Water and the right amount of heat and so far they have survived.I thinkwhen I first caught them(which was right when the female finished laying them as I caught her laying them)they felt hard and were a bit pinkish whitish so I stuck them in the incubator and waited checking them everyday and candled them for the first time today and I see veins and a pink sac but when I held them to candle them they felt softer than when I first got them but had gotten whiter and bigger in shape is this good or bad? Please help this is my first time breeding my Leo‘s
I'm pretty sure they're Ok, but I don't think you should be handling them, They should not be turned. you can damage them if you don't place them exactly like they were. Skin oils are not healthy for them either. You're best bet is to stop candling them, just hope for the best. If you must touch them wear gloves (thin rubber, like docs) and place them in the same position they were when you picked them up. I'm not real sure about lizard eggs but we don't put our snake eggs in an incubator, just vermiculite, little moisture, 85 to 88 degrees.
Q: What is the bulk density of asphalt vermiculite? Is it better to use asphalt, vermiculite or cement vermiculite when roofing?
Vermiculite is a kind of thermal insulation material, even if you do not do roofing waterproof, that after finishing the vermiculite ramming, also must use the cement mortar to make the 2~3CM protection layer. Finished cement mortar protection layer after drying, and then laying asphalt or SBS waterproof coiled material and other waterproof material. Need to say is that asphalt is a waterproof material, cement is a protective layer of thermal insulation material, but also waterproof material of the adhesion layer, and vermiculite is thermal insulation material! Can not be said to be good asphalt, vermiculite, or cement, vermiculite, good drops are a kind of Dongdong Oh!
Q: It is like rock stuff and if it breaks and is like dust and you inhale it, you can get cancer and it builds up in your lungs. They used to make walls with it, but they have stopped it now.
no matter if you do get the light to go off by the time you get to the inspection place it will be back on, you need to get it put on a computer aat auto zone FREE they will tell you what the problem is and erase it for you. but even if they erase it and you dont fix the problem it will come back on maybe in a few miles of driving
Q: ok im getting into growing bonsai trees and i need to find vermiculite does any one know of stores that carry it?
you may placed the calcium powder in somewhat bowl in his tank and only bypass away it there with him and notice if that facilitates. on occasion they're going to easily consume it while they choose it and different situations they won't. relies upon on the leo. There are additionally liquid calcium supplements you may attempt spraying on the crickets only in the previous feeding time. i've got in no way used them and don't understand a lot approximately them so a ways as high quality is going, yet they are on the keep cabinets. MBD itself would properly be corrected however the outcomes are many times everlasting. In otherwords you may ultimate the calcium deficiency interior the gecko's weight loss plan yet in keeping with how undesirable it grow to be and for a manner long he would desire to continuously walk humorous.
Q: how much of each thing do i need to mix together to make loamy soil
if you are growing in a pot,mix together equal parts of topsoil, peat moss and vermiculite or sand and if you are growing a garden and want to plant this year, loosen your garden soil to about 6 and remove rocks as you go.go to a garden nursery and get some compost ,leaf mould or peat moss (you can buy this by the square yard at not a bad price).if you are growing tomatoes, melons or other deep root growing plants, save some of the compost to the side, about 2 shovel fulls per plant ver the garden with about 3 to 4 of compost and work it in to the top 6 of soil and every spot you are going to grow a deep root growing plant, dig a hole about 12 deep and about 12 wide and mix about half of the soil from the hole with the 2 shovel full of compost you saved and refill the hole. make sure to put down fertilizer before you plant your plants. after your garden soil has warmed, put down some mulch.hay or straw are the best for vegetables, put down about 4 to 6 on top of the soil and when it brakes down it makes the soil more rich. in the fall when all the vegetable have died, using a garden rake or hoe, pull back the soil in a row 3' to 4' wide,2 to 3 deep and the length of the garden and put down 12 of fall leafs and cover with the soil you pulled back. repeat until you have done the whole garden, in early spring most of the leafs will have broken down and then just work the leaf into the top 6 or more of soil and if you get some compost, all you need to add is about 1 to the soil and your soil should be very loamy. good luck.
