- Q: So about 3 weeks ago I planted some teeny tiny Venus Fly Trap seeds, but instead of getting Perlite for them I bought Vermiculite and planted them in that. They're not growing, and I've had them in indirect sunlight all day since I planted them. And I water the peat moss soil every other day with just one spray. Is the vermiculite keeping them from growing?
- Yes, an egg can die the day after it was layed. The female lays eggs in a three month period. My leopard gecko laid one and 2 weeks later another one, and may have more on the way. Vermiculite is better than moss because you can leave it in that and put it straight into the incubator. When the egg starts to deflate it is probably going to die, thats what happened to mine.
- Q: which is best for leopard gecko eggs?
- exo thermic If it gives off more energy than was needed, it is exe
- Q: Should I add bagged manure to my potting soil when I plant tomatoes?
- Potting soil is primarily peat moss with composted bark and perlite and sometimes vermiculite and sand. It has no nutritional value, although some do contain small amounts of regular or slow release fertilizer. Its primary attributes are its acid pH and resistance to plant pathogens. So, yes you can add bagged manure to the potting soil. However, the average amount of the 3 main plant nutrients found in cattle manure is rather small— 0.6N, 0.2P, 0.5K. Its main value is in stimulating beneficial bacteria growth in soil and thereby unlocking some nutrients. In addition to the main 3 there are a host of secondary and micro nutrients that are important to tomatoes. For instance, lack of calcium can cause blossom end rot. I suggest you add a fully balanced fertilizer or combination of fertilizers that address all the nutrient needs of tomatoes.
- Q: I am going to breed my leos and I've studied A LOT. I wanted to see if anyone had suggestions. here are my questions: Perlite or Vermiculite? Where can I get on of the thermometers that have a wire you put in the vermiculite/perlite and the thermometer part sticks out of the incubator? Where can I get a cheap reptile incubator? What should the humidity be in the egg box? What should the temperature be in the perlite or vermiculite? How to make a incubator with a foam food temperature box (saw a lot of people do this on you tube if I can't get an incubator I'll make one)?
- Both are natural minerals expanded by heating, but with slightly different properties: Perlite is said to improve aeration and drainage, whereas vermiculite holds water better. As in most gardening subjects, each gardener will have their own preferences.
- Q: can i use sepiolite in my bearded dragon tank?
- No, bearded dragons like arid enviroments. sepiolite i believe is supposed hold moisture like vermiculite. Use dry bedding like crushed walnut shells or cypress mulch. if you plan on breeding and incubating eggs then vermiculite or sepiolite would work great to keep the eggs moist.
- Q: WHERE CAN I GET VERMICULITE, FOR GROWING MUSHROOMS?
- It has to do with the mineral structure. Clays have water molecules in their structure that are loosely bound to the mineral and so it can give or take water. High temperature micas like biotite or muscovite, the OH molecule is strongly bound to their structure and they have a different more ordered structure to begin with. They will give off water only when the mineral breaks down to form another mixture of minerals.
- Q: i mist her a couple times a day is this bad
- That'snormal. Most do not know how to drink out of a dish so they drink the water on leaves.
- Q: Im making my own incubator and trying to hatch my leopard geckos eggs but no store around me has any vermiculite, perlite, or hatch rite. I have plenty of wet moss that i have in their wet hide and they lay in it with the eco earth rock hide. So can i use the wet moss as an incubation substrate?
- we use a small 18inch viv, with the eggs placed in a small tub containing moist perlite with a heat mat linked to a thermostat so they eggs are at a constant temperature. this way works really well as some of our eggs hatched after only 36 days...and they were at the lower temps for females as well. in the past though we have used the same setup only in a polystyrene fish box. once we even managed to incubate eggs successfully in the airing cupboard!!
- Q: I strongly needed my internal memory is very less only 139mb. And also tell me about some roms
- are the posts strpped? can you drill tap the wiper arm for a set screw?
- Q: When i was a freshman in college we used to play volleyball in our room knocking the cottage cheese asbestos off of the ceiling. Sometimes the floor would be littered with it. Unfortunately at the time i did not know this was asbestos. We used to do this maybe 3 times a week or so. Id say about half the time our room was ventilated with windows open. I was in this room for 7 months. So im wondering how concerned should i be about getting lung cancer or Mesothamlimia. Ive read a bunch over the last week that you can get mesothalimia(sry spelling may be wrong) from 1-3 months exposure but theres not figures on how likely you are to get it. Does anyone have any thoughts on my chances of getting Mesothalimia or lung cancer? Thanks
- youll be fine, it takes years of working around it everyday for you to have a problem
