- Q:I am planning to buy a moderately priced vacuum cleaner at a target/walmart etc. This will be my first vacuum cleaner of my own and was hoping someone could recommend me a brand that makes moderately priced vacuum cleaners
- Volta Just bought one recently. Only around $150 the power suction (which is adjustable) is great. I personally can't see why anyone feels they need to buy expensive vacuum cleaners. Plus I think it came with a 2 year warranty so you cant beat that for $150
- Q:Over a decade ago I recall playing a platform game where the player used a vacuum cleaner to defeat foes. Anyone know the name of this game?
- the simpsons arcade game- marge used a vacuum.
- Q:I have a habit of asking weird questions, but I think it is interesting how different regions/areas of people have different ways of saying/naming things. For instance, where I'm from, we call vacuum cleaners 'sweepers' and apparently other people don't. And then there is the whole 'pop' and 'soda' difference (I stick with pop). Oh one last thing, would you call it making dinner or fixing dinner? Right, so this question is kind of vague-- but what phrases are odd to you when you visit a different area? I'm just exploring the language differences... so any discussion or anything would be interesting!
- some are vernacular and others colloquialisms. In the Midwest you'd say making dinner. In the south or southwest, fixin' dinner. We called vacuum cleaners Hoovers since they were the most popular in the 1930's. Sweepers were usually made by Bissell, and were un-powered. Lunch was dinner, and dinner was supper in Oklahoma.

- I'm a Vac Tech. Listen to the Simplicity person. That's a good vac. One of the best on the market. The Riccar is a sister company, both of which are manufactured in St. James Missouri. American made. The Riccar has a 5 year warranty and service plan though. The 8955 model is the best buy. Probably the best buy on any vacuum. The other Top brands are gonna be Miele and Sebo. Both German Manufactured. You really can't go wrong with any of them. Piece of advice, stay away from the hype. Most of those are toys and don't hold up. You can dump a lot of money into something at a department store that isn't worth much. You can't go yell at the 17 year old kid that recommended the Dyson to you at Walmart, but if you buy off of an independent dealer you can. Those dealers realize this and want to keep you happy, so they usually want sell you junk. Besides all those manufactures I listed will bend over backwards to make sure you get taken care of, if the dealer doesn't.
- Q:Who vacuums in the dark??
- Supposedly they are to help you to see where you need to vacuum and show the dirt more. But I haven't found that they do that. Other than that they are there for looks.
- Q:Why do diesel locomotives sound like loud vacuum cleaners when they are running power. Does it have to do with gas combustion?
- turbos
- Q:I have a bag-less dyson vacuum cleaner, and it does a great job vacuuming. Thing is it's getting really dirty. I have asthma, so I really don't want to clean it myself, since there's all manner of dust and what not in it's hoses and other pieces. I empty it's quot;bagwhen I use it and I wash the filters from time to time, but that doesn't keep it from getting really dirty in other places. Are there businesses that clean vacuum cleaners? If so, where can I find them?
- solid one! :-P I did accidently!!! i became coming domicile with my vacume I purely had repaired, it became a Hoover. the different automobile I had on the time became a hatch decrease back. properly, the clip on it had broken and that i became vacationing down the line decrease back domicile whilst the decrease back flew open and my vacume took off, hit the floor........................ i became driving like 60 on that constrained-get right of entry to highway and searching my rear view window at my horror, the undesirable ingredient became sparking in all places and different vehicles have been dodging it in it extremely is bypass because it became litterly cruising backwards at intense velocity! I clearly wish it did no longer reason any injuries yet i'm going to have been noted for that. although, I had the decrease back door fastened and have a diverse automobile now. As for the undesirable Hoover, it went to the great Pearly gates interior the sky!!!!!!!!!!!! :-( +(
- Q:Maybe a new brand of high powered vacuum cleaners? Or perhaps a solution to nuclear waste disposal?
- i think the use is already there, and being employed in our favor. if cultists christian whack-jobs are in classrooms, yapping about intelligent design, to other whack-jobs crazy enough to listen to them... ...then at least they aren't out bombing abortion clincs and trying to burn gay people at the stake, or burning crosses in the yards of non-whites... etc etc etc... even though they are wasting time and space, at least while they're yapping at a blackboard, they're not hurting anyone.
- Q:I live in the Dayton, Ohio area if that matters. Thanks!
- Don't waste your time. They are so cheap now that it's easier to toss em and buy a new one.
