Q:Can solar panels be installed on theme parks or amusement parks?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on theme parks or amusement parks. In fact, many parks are increasingly embracing renewable energy sources like solar power to reduce their carbon footprint and energy costs. Installing solar panels on theme parks can not only provide clean and sustainable energy but also serve as a visible demonstration of their commitment to environmental sustainability.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a pergola or gazebo structure?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a pergola or gazebo structure. These structures provide a suitable surface for mounting solar panels and can help maximize the exposure to sunlight, ultimately increasing the energy production of the panels. It is important to ensure that the pergola or gazebo is structurally sound and properly designed to support the weight and wind load of the solar panels. Additionally, the orientation and angle of the panels should be optimized for the specific location to maximize energy generation.
Q:There is a charge controller that has what i believe to be only port for a solar/ wind turbine control panel and i don't know if it has more than port for panels. So would i be abed to link 2 panels to port or do you think the controller has more than portBTW it is for marine use.
Solar panels are like batteries, hook them up in series and you increased the voltage, hook them up in parallel and you increased the current. You should review your first year physics notes on the matter.
Q:How do solar panels impact the electrical grid?
Solar panels can have a positive impact on the electrical grid by generating clean and renewable energy. When connected to the grid, they can contribute to reducing the overall demand for electricity, especially during peak times. However, their intermittent nature and fluctuating output require grid operators to carefully manage the variability to ensure grid stability. Additionally, solar panels can decentralize power generation, leading to a more resilient grid and potentially reducing transmission losses.
Q:Can solar panels be used during a power outage?
No, solar panels cannot be used during a power outage unless there is a battery backup system in place.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a boat?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a boat.
Q:I have to get a lot of information on how solar panels are developed and distributed in America because I have to do two pages on this. Please help me get information in this I really need it!! Thankss...
The first link below is one of the best sites for recent news about solar panels. You should be able to find stories about solar panels under development today. A little bit of the history: Solar panels have been around for about 50 years now. They were first used to power spacecraft. Solar power for domestic use started to develop rapidly in the 970's during the first oil crisis, but as energy prices fell in the 980's solar development slowed. Most of the large solar panel makers were purchased by large oil companies who seemed not to be too interested in solar. In the late 990's as concerns about both Peak Oil and Global Warming grew there was renewed interest in solar power and a number of new companies were started to develop new kinds of solar panels. Many of these new companies have grown larger than the older solar companies still owned by big oil companies. Over the last 7 years or so growth in the solar market has been explosive with a compound growth rate of almost 40% per year. In 2005 the solar industry for the first time started to consume more silicon than all other electronic industries combined resulting in a world wide silicon shortage that is still with use. New silicon refineries are coming on line and the shortage is expected to diminish by 2008 or 2009. Check out the two links below. They will help you a lot.
Q:wondering if i should get them?? not sure if its worth leasing? also anyone know anything about solar city?
I have panels and they were very much a good investment for me. I should break even in my 6th or 7th year at the latest and they should last at least 20. There were somethings that made it a good investment. My system cost $26K, I got a $0K rebate from my utility and a $2K fed tax credit (it's up to $7800 for this size system now). I also live in a sunny location and have a south facing roof. Plus I plan on living in my house till I die. If you really want to know if it makes good financial sense then get a no obligation quote from a reliable installation company. They will be able to recommend a system that will suit your needs, know about any rebates or tax credits and how much energy your system should create. With all that, your energy usage history and your current rates they will be able to tell you how long it will take for your system to pay for it's self in savings. If you are considering leasing, generally there is no cost savings. They usually size the system so you are paying them the same amount that you would have been paying the energy company.
Q:If you want to instal solar panels...how often do you have to replace them?
I have several friends that have large systems down in Mexico where there is no electric grid. They have had these systems for years. They say you probably should plan on at least 0 years with decent output. The capacity does taper off with time so maybe half power in 5 years might be a good assumption. Here in Arizona our payback (Break even) point is about 8-9 years. Our state has subsidies along with fed, and utility company. A 3000 watt system will cost about $0,000 installed. That is about half off regular price.
