Q: how do I wire the generator so it can spin 360 on the pole with out snapping the wires.... Thanks: You need some ring contacts and brushes that will be touching those rings that will be spinning while the generator does to complete a circuit without twisting wires. Make sure you get the right size rings and wire for the amount of current

Q: I have a carrier thermostat with red, green, yellow, white and blue wires. Bought a new honeywell, omly has red, green, yellow and white terminals. What do I do with the blue wire. Right now it is connected to rc with no jumper, but nothing works.: This is an educated guess, even though we don't know how the furnace is wired. In many cases, the blue wire is used for C (common). Tape off or snip off the end of the blue wire and don't use it. Put the red wire on the RC terminal. Jump RC to R or RH if you have heat. Connect the other wires to their corresponding terminals. If blue is common, there's a good chance you blew the fuse on the control board (if your air handler has one) and/or you fried the transformer. That is, if you tried turning on the A/C.

Q: Or can stranded wire of the same gauge be subsitituted for solid wire without any consequences? The reason I ask is because its for a massive 4kJ capacitor discharge circuit, and I need all the energy delivered to the power coils im using, cant afford to have much leakage inductance.: You question about Inductance seems illogical. I can't imagine how a straight wire will affect a sudden discharge of current unless the wire is coiled (inductor) or have a shield attached to ground(capacitor). I believe the difference between the two wires are their direct current resistance which is very negligible if the wires are just a few feet long. The Capacitor that will discharge current directly to a coil is a 'tank circuit' and is a type of oscillator. Most likely, The inductance you will experience is caused by the power coil itself that feeds it back to the capacitor and vise versa. If that is true, I recommend a reverse shunt diode across the coil and a series diode between the capacitor and the coil.

Q: I notice my 10/100 Ethernet wire uses 4 wires (2 twisted pairs). I'm curious what each wire is used for. I understand one pair is for Tx (transmit) and the other for Rx (receive) but why does it need 2 wires for each? I assume bits of data cross on one, but what of the other?: Your okorder /

And as for spark plug wires get Bosch there basically the best. Oh umm the Bosch Platinum +4 Spark Plugs are about $7.95 each but trust me on this it will be money well spent they last longer then regular ones i put some in my mother's Chevy S10 about year 1 1/2 ago and there still good. And since your suppose to change them every 6-7 months i'd say there alot better.

It will be constant here as we are dealing with the same material. Let's say that the radius of the first wire is r1. R1 = rho*L1/A1 = rho*L1/(pi*r1^2) rho = R1*A1/L1 = R1*pi*r1^2/L1 For the second wire, R2 = rho*L2/A2 = L2/(pi*r2^2) * R1*Pi*r1^2/L1 L2 is twice L1, L2=2*L1. The diameter is half the first, which means that the radius of half the first, so r2 = r1/2. R2 = 2*L1/(pi*(r1/2)^2) * R1*pi*r1^2/L1 = 8*R1 = 454 ohms.

Q: I am planning to wire my single sub 400rms svc to my amplifier 400rms x 1 @4 ohms. My car model is 94 mitsubishi lancer. how many AWG ( gauge) should I use? Like for Power, ground, speaker wire. I just want to have the full potential of my sub and ampli.For my 2nd question: if I decided to put a 2nd sub wired it on the same amp making it 800rms x1 @ 2 ohms. (my amplifier is a class d mono 1600 watt peak by the way) should I need to use a capacitor?Thank you: Well a capacitor is always desired for me...even if not to help the amp...it also helps your alternator/battery. Most class D amps can handle 2 ohm mono...actually most of them can handle 1 ohm mono...as for wiring. It depends on how many amps your amplifier's fuses are. If your amp is drawing more than 50 amps I'd say 6G or thicker. less than 50amps then 8G is plenty. The wattage the amp says it puts out is misleading...the fuses on the side of the amp tell the whole story. 12g speaker wire should take care of you as well. If the amp were on the larger side (requiring 6G wire or thicker) then 8G speaker wire would be a good idea.

You have to take into account the actual diameter of the wire, the wider the wire, and constant current, the cooler the wire will be when you run electricity through it.
