- Q: I would like to know what GPRS stand for and how it works with our mobile phones.
- General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a mobile data service available to users of GSM mobile phones. It is often described as 2.5G, that is, a technology between the second (2G) and third (3G) generations of mobile telephony. It provides moderate speed data transfer, by using unused TDMA channels in the GSM network. Originally there was some thought to extend GPRS to cover other standards, but instead those networks are being converted to use the GSM standard, so that is the only kind of network where GPRS is in use. GPRS is integrated into GSM standards releases starting with Release 97 and onwards. First it was standardized by ETSI but now that effort has been handed onto the 3GPP.
- Q: Could someone please state some real life applications for Mobile phones and PDA's. Cant find any on the web thanks!
- Mobile phones can apparently be used to make telephone calls -- or so I'm told.? PDAs are useful for keeping a list of appointments, etc., and providing reminders of them.? There are many other uses of them, probably all real life.? I actually can't think of any uses that aren't real life, now that I come to think about it!
- Q: Are you for or against mobile phones being dangerous?please give reasons :D(for my essay)thanks x
- Millions of people own a mobile phone these days, and ever since they have been around scientists question the fact of they are safe or not. Do they cause tumors, earaches, mercury poisoning? All these health risks are mentioned in every article I found. But nowhere could I find anything that was sure if mobiles did cause all of the above. This is where science fails us. The problem is that mobile phones are still too new to know the long-term effects on human. Mobile phones give of a radiation of radio frequency round 10MHz to 300Ghz. But so do other appliances. Why does mobiles especially get put in the picture of being hazardous? Soon it will be clear whether the radio frequency emissions from mobiles cause health effect. You can read it complete here

- Q: I want a new phone for Christmas and I've been looking at Virgin mobile phones because they have unlimited texting and web so I want to know if they're any good before I get one.
- i attempted activating a Nokia N95 8GB on an ATT provider plan yet they reported they won't be waiting to by way of fact I introduced it from yet another usa. i'm rather constructive they're going to make it easier to understand that they won't be waiting to do it, yet why do no longer you provide Virgin cellular a decision?
- Q: Difference between mobile phone and smart phone
- They're both almost the same, except smart Phones are mobille phones with alot more capacities other that calling, such as wi-fi antenna, office applications, other non-calling stuff.
- Q: Hey, I'm having a problem with my new cell phone. I just got it a few days ago, it's a Virgin Mobile TNT model, also known as Kyocera Adreno S2400. The screen has gone black. The battery is fully charged, and the phone actually seems to still be on, since it's making sounds upon opening and closing. Hitting/holding the end button to turn it on or off produces no response. So basically right now, rather than having a cell phone I have a little box that makes noises when I open and close it. I've tried the Virgin Mobile website, but they don't really have a troubleshooting section. Does anyone know what the problem could be, and how I could fix it?
- I also have the TNT, and actually had the exact same thing happen a couple weeks ago. I decided to hold the power button in for a few seconds so it would shut off (yes, I know it's hard to tell because the screen is black). I waited a few minutes and turned it back on and it was fine. If this doesn't work, try removing the battery and putting it back in. Also, I know through the Virgin Mobile website and most stores you buy the phones at, have a 30 day guarantee, so if all else fails, return the phone.
