Q: I need to have something that makes you think of a tiled bathroom with flair. Q: I moved into new construction 2 yrs ago. Someone did a crappy job at laying floor tiles down and now some of them have come loose. Does the whole floor need to come up and redone?: I had this happen this year. they had to come and remove them and relay. IT was $2.00 per tile

Q: I need some guidance on hanging new wall tiles in my bathroom.1) can I tile over the existing tiles2) what are the pro‘s/con‘s of ready mixed adhesive against mix your own3) is all grout standard waterproof or do i need specialist stuff4) do you tile all the walls then replace the suite or put the new suit in first then tile? bearing in mind i hope to tile over existing tiles.5) is it true you shoudl first replace your bath, fill it with water and leave it overnight to level?Any guidance would be much appreciated......: [1] Yes you can tile over the existing tiles, What you need to do first? Is to rough up with rough sandpaper on the existing tiles to give a bite for the new tiles to hold on. [2] It is better to have ready mix, because it will have every things in it [3] Most grout are waterproof and also you can get differ colour grouts to match your bathroom. [4] Put in your new suit first, then tiles on top of your existing tiles, and grouts it as well. [5] fill your bath first, then seal it, so it will have the weight of the bath and water in it and it wont break the seal and lest chance of a leak.

Q: I am ready to tile a kitchen island, it has the rough shape of HOME PLATE, though not pointy. What is the best way to cover those odds angles effectively? Should I butt two edge tiles together? Also, I am not fond of the 16th inch spacing in tiles, I prefer 1/4 in gaps...any issues for the top of counter. Q: I have a very outdated bathroom with pink tile covering just about every wall. I love to do DIY projects but can‘t afford to replace the tile. I can however afford to paint it. I read up on it and found the paint directions but don‘t want the end result to look tacky. Has anyone done this and liked the results?: have seen it after was completed came up reasonable you have to clean the tiles then apply a special primer then the tile paint there are pens around that can redo the grout lines. you must get the correct materials and follow everything as recomended the paints are not cheap. they might not have those paints in the. U.S.

Q: I want to remove my carpet in the bedroom. I know about pulling it up and all that but what I don‘t know is what the next step is after it‘s totally up. I want to put down tile I‘m not sure if I want to put down ceramic or just the plain old sticky tile. my question is can i put tile down directly on the floor boards. I don‘t think that there is hardwood underneath i just see like plywood or whatever that board is called. Is there anything specific that needs to be done to the floor before tiling?: The vinyl tile can be, on occasion put right atop a sub floor. It s not the ideal way but can be done. Best is to a 1/4 inch wood sub floor commonly called luan. Now on to a ceramic. You ll need a 1/2 in cement board Utli -Crete and DUROCK are 2 well known brands. Both need to be thin setted down and nail or screwed w/ a galvanized nail or screw. There are minimum lengths you ll need. Seams to be filled and properly taped. Q: I‘m tiling a shower in a small bathroom, should I go with ceramic or something like vitreous? Any experience welcomed greatly!!: I would use ceramic tile. It comes in a variety of sizes and colors and is relatively easy to put up. It is also very easy to clean. If you haven't tiled a lot before, get self spacing tiles. Then you do not need to mess around with tile spacers. This will speed up your job. Also, if you have never tiled before, check with your local hardware store. Some places like Home Depot and Lowe's will offer free tiling classes. HTH!
