FAQ
1. Is the sample available?
Yes, samples can be sent for test if you need.

Q: What are the different types of surface defects in steel coils?
Some of the different types of surface defects in steel coils include scratches, pits, rust, scale, stains, and indentations.
Q: I'm currently in an Estimating and Bidding class. I have to estimate two divisions for a multi-million dollar project. The project that I chose is around 6 million dollars and involves constructing a new gas/lighting building. I chose to estimate steel, and my question is, around how much out of the 6 million goes toward just the steel estimate? If it helps, this building is has two floors and is roughly about 100x70 feet. The building not wood construction, but rather steel and brick. How much of that 6 million would go into the steel? I'm not looking for anything exact, just roughly.
That is a little tough to answer given the details. I will try to answer it as best I can. You can send me a message if you need further help and I can get some more details from you. If it is a 6 million dollar project, that is about $428/sf - (6 million divided by 14,000 sf). $428 is a little bit higher end then say, just a Walmart which is a block and steel box. Assuming you have a concrete slab on the first floor, metal deck on the second floor, with steel beams and open web joists framing, steel columns and steel roof framing with a metal deck roof.... you could be approx 10-15% of the total 6 million. Now, this would include the structural steel, not light gauge steel framing for walls. It sounds like you are looking for structural steel, not metal stud framing. Hopefully this helps, I can check back to this thread later to see if you've had to add any more details.
Q: I have one and wonder how much force this can take since it does seem like you can bend it(Sure it's impossible with hands), but I don't want to try that cause i don't want to break it. Many people say that it's really hard and can handle a hammer smash? is that true and can it even make it through more force. Cause steel is harder than iron and iron is pretty hard... So how much can i trust this locks security, i mean if i put at at a door would some thiefes be able to break it, if they had the right tools??
LOL...locks are SO easy to break/pick. There are dozens of videos on youtube showing the various techniques for unlocking them. Yours is no different.
Q: What are the different types of steel coil packaging?
There are several types of steel coil packaging, including steel strapping, stretch wrapping, shrink wrapping, and wooden crates.
Q: I worked REALLY HARD basically begged my dad to let me stretch my ear lobe piercings. He finally said yes, as long as I don't pass 2g. c: So, we went to Hot Topic to buy tapers, but I don't know if I should get Steel or Acrylic tapers. Which ones are better to start off with?
steel because they dont get that infected also they sre easier to put in. but they do get cold in the winter
Q: I have been thinking of buying a knife that says it has damascus steel. The reason for the question is that many people told me that damascus steel does not exist anymore, and that damascus nowadays is fake. Is this true???
Well, it depends on what you call fake. Modern Damascus steel is perhaps similar, but it is not what people would call Damascus steel in 1500. It is made to look similar, but structurally it is different. For the most part the specific way of making Damascus steel is lost to history.
Q: i got a strip of steel from lowes how to sharpen it its not that thick its kinda slim but its heavyish its around 4'2 feet tall i cant get a whetstone or anything elsei have a brick , sand paper , and a hammer and some charcoal i was heating it up and trying to pound a edge into italso how to cut the steel to make a pointy curved tip any help appreciated and please tell me easy methodsplus its not sharp at all
Bench grinder, Dremel Hand Grinder
Q: I was curious to what type of steel I should get if I wanted something that kept its edge longer than 154cm but is still just as stainless. I don't know much about knife steels inform me please?
154cm is a very good knife steel, the problem is in the heat treating. Stainless should be cryo treated to get all it can offer. That being said, if you really want to drop some coin, look at getting one made from CPM 440V. Stainless isn't as strong as carbon but on a smaller knife works well. You might also look for D-2 Tool steel. There are factory knives that are made of that.
Q: How are steel coils used in the manufacturing of flooring materials?
Steel coils are commonly used in the manufacturing of flooring materials as they provide structural support and durability. The steel coils are typically used as a base layer that is sandwiched between other materials, such as wood or vinyl, to create a strong and sturdy flooring surface. The coils help to distribute weight evenly and prevent the flooring from sagging or warping over time. Additionally, the steel coils can also enhance the impact resistance and overall lifespan of the flooring, making it suitable for high-traffic areas.
Q: should I shoot Herters .308 steel cased ammo in my Remington 7400.and why shouldn't I?
Should you?...... Its a free country - You can do what you want....... Why shouldn't you?...... If I got it right - That Herters ammo is foreign made steel case ammo..... Most of that stuff has a reputation for being dirty and likes to foul semi-auto rifles up..... I suppose if you use a little of that stuff now and then it would be ok........ Usually that steel cased stuff is used by folks that own military style semi-0auto guns and bolt action rifles...... Those types of guns for the most part are well suited to use that cheap steel case...... A Remington 7400?..... This is just my opinion - but that's a hunting rifle and isn't up to the rigors of blasting a few hundred rounds of ammo off in an afternoon....... Get a different gun for that...... Occasional use?... Yeah its alright...... If this is for hunting use a better grade of brass cased ammo.......
