Q:How do you rate steel?
Its strong steel is rated by the precence of carbon in it. Higher carbon _ higher the price
Q:desnity of steel?
First you have to convert the coefficient of linear expansion to a coefficient of volumetric expansion. Multiply the coefficient of linear expansion by 3: Coefficient of expansion of steel,β:12E-6/°K x 3 = 36E-6/°K Difference in temperature: 480°K ΔV = VoβΔT ΔV = Vo x (0.000036) x 480 ΔV = 1m³ x 0.017 ΔV = 0.017m³ Originally, the steel was at 7800 kg/m³ Now, the steel was at 7800 kg/ 1.017m³, or 7670 kg/m³ Change in density = 7670 - 7800 = -130kg/m³
Q:New stainless steel refridguator?
I use water but do it in sections so wipe then with a dry cloth dry then with another dry cloth dry again, then continue this and you will get ride of all streaks you could try window cleaner (windex) spray on then wipe with paper towels then go over with a paper towel again or a dry tea towel; I like using the cotton tea towels as I find the other tea towel (like towels) leave fluff and that annoys me big time as I can't handle streaks Good luck as it can drive you up the wall try and train every one to open and close the door by the handle only not closing the door by putting there fingers on the door; easier said than done.
Q:Stainless steel pots?
The difference in stainless steel cookware is the amount of different metals used when making them. 18-10 is the best combination. I have Tramontina SS pots and pans and love them. Nice heavy bottoms that evenly heat. Getting used to cooking with stainless is a bit difficult. You need to start with high heat and then turn it down when you add ingredients. This assists in food not sticking.
Q:hard ionized vs stainless steel cookware?
Hard anodized generally refers to aluminum that has had a specific surface treatment. The benefit of aluminum is that it's a better conductor of heat than stainless, so it will heat up faster, depending on thickness. It's also lighter than steel, if that matters to you. As far as stainless steel, it all depends on the quality of the steel and of the construction. Some pots and pans are made from cheap grades of stainless which can suffer from corrosion problems. Though this shouldn't affect the taste of the food, only the appearance of the pan. Companies making bargain products may also skimp on materials by making the metal thinner; this causes hot-spots when cooking, In the case of skillets, thinner materials are more likely to warp over time. Stainless steel is generally stronger and tougher than aluminum- less likely to dent. Thought again, strength also depends on thickness. A good quality stainless pan is hard to beat in terms of durability, these things can last several lifetimes. On the other hand so will a good quality aluminum one.
Q:What are the characteristic of CORTON STEEL?
*It is Corten steel.Grade A B. *Weathering steel, best-known under the trademark COR-TEN steel, is a group of steel alloys which were developed to obviate the need for painting, and form a stable rust-like appearance if exposed to the weather for several years. United States Steel Corporation (USS) holds the registered trademark on the name COR-TEN. Although USS sold its discrete plate business to International Steel Group (now Arcelor-Mittal) in 2003, it still sells COR-TEN branded material in strip-mill plate and sheet forms. In some areas it may be known without the hyphen as Corten steel. The original COR-TEN received the standard designation A242 (COR-TEN A) from the ASTM International standards group. Newer ASTM grades are A588 (COR-TEN B) and A606 for thin sheet. All alloys are in common production and use. It is a weather-resistant steel which is used in containers and hot flue gas line. The American Corten A Steel has a composition of C, 0.12; Si, 0.5; Cu, 0.5; Cr, 0.8; P, 0.1 and Mn, 0.5%. Although the tensile strength is less than 494 MPa the yield is in the region of 371 MPa. The combination of copper and phosphorus also increases the resistance to atmospheric corrosion which is important when thinner plates are used. The original steel A suffers a decrease in yield strength and notch ductility in thickness over 25 mm, to overcome which Corten B was developed-C 0.14; P 0.04; Mn 1.1; Cr 0.5; Cu 0.4; V 0.1; Bol Al 0.02. *COR-TEN A applies to plates up to 12.5mm in thickness, COR-TEN B applies to plates up to 50mm in thickness. *It has been used in bridge and other large structural applications such as the New River Gorge Bridge, the newer span of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, and the creation of the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA). It is very widely used in marine transportation, in the construction of shipping containers.
Q:Does mild steel have a high carbon content?
High carbon steel is much harder than iron. In fact, steel -is- iron with carbon in it. Mild steel has a very low carbon content and is much softer. High carbon steel is much stronger after heat treatment. However, about 2% carbon, it is considered cast iron. Mild steel contains about 0.16% to 0.29% carbon content. It has a relatively low strength but is highly malleable.
Q:mechanical behaviour data for recycled steel?
Most recycled steel is blended with new steel at the steel mill. Scrap steel that is reused directly doesn't change it properties because it has been used. That is unless it has been in certain environments such as ones with hydrogen, hydrogen sulfide etc. Then the steel can become brittle. You might look for information on the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE). They have lots of information on metals and what causes problems.
Q:What is the steel industry?
The steel industry is an industry that produces steel. It is one of the largest industries in the world, with China as the leading steel producer
Q:What kind of chemistry do stainless steel golf clubs have?
Stainless steel is a mixture of metals, each metal is included in order to make up for each others weaknesses. Each metal is included due to a property that is benificial in some way, for instance Chromium is included because it makes the stainless steel 'stainless'. In chemistry a mixture of metals, stainless steel, is called an alloy.
