Q:DN is the pipe a pipe or a plastic tube?
PE (polyethylene) material is widely used in water supply pipe manufacturing because of its high strength, corrosion resistance, non-toxic and so on. Because it won't rust, it is the ideal pipe instead of ordinary iron pipes. PE due to its unique advantages and is widely used in building water supply, drainage, underground drainage pipe, building heating, gas pipelines, electrical and telecommunications, industrial protective casing pipes, agricultural pipes etc.. It is mainly used in urban water supply, urban gas supply and farmland irrigation.
Q:What are the different closure options for snap-on tubes?
The different closure options for snap-on tubes include screw caps, flip-top caps, snap-on caps, and push-pull caps.
Q:Can plastic tubes be used for paint or adhesive packaging?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for paint or adhesive packaging.
Q:a molten plastic flows out of a tube 8 cm long at a rate of 13 cm^3/min where the pressure differential between the two ends of the tube is 18 cm of mercury. find the viscosity of the plastic. the i.d of the tube is 1.30 mm. the density of mercury is 13.6 g/ cm^3the answer is 0.097 kg/m.s or 97 cp! help!
Hello Cedric Mapula, let us use the expression V/t = pi P a^4 / 8 l eta Here V/t = volume flown in one sec = 13 cm^3 / 60 s = 13/60 cm^3 /s pi = 3.14 P = 18*13.6*980 a = 1.3/ 20 cm = 0.065 cm l = 8 cm eta = ? Plug these and find the required eta i.e. coefficient of viscosity of liquid Ans : 0.969 g/cm*s = 0.969*10^-3/10^-2 kg/m*s = 0.0969 kg/m*s
Q:is it ok to use a plastic tubing for my ice maker how about the fittings (plastic)?
They make the tubing and fittings for icemakers/waterlines. It is perfectly fine to use. Just be sure you are using lines rated for your purpose.
Q:Can plastic tubes be used for structural purposes?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for structural purposes. While not as strong as materials like steel or concrete, plastic tubes can provide structural support in certain applications, such as lightweight structures or non-load bearing elements. They are commonly used in industries like construction, architecture, and engineering for various purposes including piping, electrical wiring, and framework. However, the specific strength and suitability of plastic tubes for structural purposes depend on factors like the type of plastic, design considerations, and intended load requirements.
Q:Like in the piercing shops, they pierce it with the needle and the plastic tube thingy... Then they take the needle out and leave the hollow plastic tube in the put the lip ring..,... I was wondering where can I buy that?
If your interested, please let me know :D
Q:Where is orifice tube on 97 blazer?
The plastic expansion tube contains a fixed diameter tube with a mesh filter screen at either end. It is located in the evaporator inlet pipe. It creates a restriction to the high-pressure liquid refrigerant in the liquid line, metering the flow of refrigerant to the evaporator as a low-pressure liquid. When the engine is turned OFF with the air conditioning operating, the refrigerant in the system will flow from the high-pressure side of the expansion tube (orifice) to the low-pressure side until the pressure is equalized. This may be detected as a faint sound of liquid flowing (hissing) for 30 to 60 seconds. This is a normal condition. When system diagnostics indicate a restricted expansion tube, it may not be necessary to replace it. Metal chips, flakes, or slivers found on the screen may be removed with compressed air. The expansion tube may be reused if: * The plastic frame is not broken. * The expansion tube is not damaged or plugged. * The screen material is not torn. * The screen is not plugged with fine gritty material.
Q:I have a little bit of a project. I'm trying to figure a way to cool a pair of water filled tubing lines. I was thinking to wrap it with some type of cooling device but not quite sure what to use. Can you guys give me some ideas? I want to cool the lines as cool as refrigerator temps. Thanks.
You have not said how much heat you need to disperse - whether it needs to be a continuous process or not. You have not mentioned whether the lines are flexible or what length they are! However, without making things too complicated, if you use a longish length of plastic tubing, you could coil them and run them through a bucket full of an ice/salt/water mixture. Depending on how fast the water is moving through the tubes, if you had a strong mixture of salt and ice - with just enough water in the bucket to allow conduction - you might be able to freeze the water in the tubes - which is probably NOT what you want to do. So experiment before the performance.
Q:We currently use round bottom glass test tubes on our automation but suffer a large dead volume. We are looking to find a supplier of low dead volume glass/plastic test tubes to trial
That's an unusual question. MANY years ago (50 or so) when we used to run a lot of pregnancy tests by utilizing Leopard Frogs, we used to use V-bottomed test tubes to spin down the sediment. Frankly, that's pretty much the only example I can remember where we used them. But I would think that they are still around. I would suggest you contact a laboratory supply house or two or three, and ask them. They are much more likely to be able to give you an answer than us geeks on the Yahoo medicine board. The stuff I used 50 years ago might not be around anymore.
