Q: i plan on getting somebody elses urine and storing it in a glass container wrapped with aluminum foil, and sneaking it into the bathroom and pour the urine into the cupif the water temperature has dropped, then i will run hot water over the containerhowever, how long will i be able to store this urine before it quot;goes badquot;, or does it ever go bad?
I am not sure exactly how it would be designed, but it would have four bedrooms and an indoor poolI wouldn't need or want anything overly big but I would want plenty of bathroomsMy only problem would be WHERE I would want the house built.
Q: Aluminum's Atomic Number is 13Mass is 27Protons and Electrons is 13Neutrons is 14Charge is +3How do I figure charge out for other elements?
Elements situated in a column in the periodic table will form ions with the same charge, and share similar propertiesegChlorine, Bromine, Fluorine all ionize to form an ion with a negative 1 chargeIf you don't know, and only have the number of electrons, you can use shell theory (though they'll tell you it's totally wrong at the College and University level, it's good enough for highschool chem)The first shell holds 2 electronsEach shell after that holds 8Once you've filled all the lower shells, whatever's left over is likely what the charge is going to be The other rule of thumb is that if the outer shell electrons are less than 4, the ion will be positiveMore than 4, the ion will be negativeAt 4, the ion might not have a charge at all, as those are usually covalent, but sometimes they take it to be +4 or -4 depending on the compoundUsing your example, elemental Aluminum is neutralIn that state, if you use the shell model, the shells fill up like this: 2+8+3 As the outer shell has 3 electrons, when it forms an ion, it gives up those 3 electrons, making the ion less negative (iemore positive)Thus, it has a charge of +3The reason why college instructors and university profs don't want you relying on the shell model is that it only works for the elements in the simplified periodic table and it's also possible to break the rules even with those elements under some controlled conditions.
Q: What happens with the aluminum foils, when the aluminum pan is brought near the electroscope?
Assuming that the pan is electrically neutral, then, when you bring it near to the electroscope, nothing will changeHowever, if you TOUCH the pan to the electroscope, then the excess charge on the leaves will discharge to the pan, and the leaves will move closer together.
Q: I'm looking for a place to buy CA legal mags in .223 and the normal length mags too not the short ones
Food should never be left out at room temperature all nightDid you perhaps cover it with aluminum foil?
Q: I wish to use the foil electrode with a silver electrode. My problem is that will the oxide layer of aluminium prevent it from conducting electricity? WIll it work and an electrode?
The aluminum oxide won't stop it from conducting. They make electrical wire out of aluminum and copper both, and the oxide layer comes on aluminum in a short time exposed to the air, but the wire has been in use for decades. It will work for an electrode. In fact it might work better than Zinc since it is higher on the reactivity series of metals.
Q: So, I've managed to royally EFF' up an entire batch of Chocolate Chunk cookies, and a good portion of a batch of Double Chocolate chip/ mint MM'sI just spend an hour trying to salvage my entire batch of ChoChip by scraping them off of the pan with a butter knifeI don't understand what happenedI might as well throw the baking sheets and the knife I just used, outI've ruined themI followed the recipes to a TNon greased pan and all.wtf happened? I'm embarrassed to take these into work tomorrow{
I know how frustrated you are~I'm a professional chef, and I can't count the number of times I've screwed up in the kitchen, so CHILL OUT!If you have some waxed paper or parchment paper, and have enough cookie dough left, try one of those with only 2 cookies and see the resultsThere could have been a number of things that went wrong, but without knowing the recipe, I'm guessing that because you didn't used greased pans, the shortening or butter must have been in the cookies, correct? I'll star this and come back to it.And the LAST thing you need right now is to stress over cookiesIf there's a way you can salvage some of each, you could re-incorporate it into a large cookie with a sugar cookie base.and serve it in wedges Christopher K EDIT: I understand you're fed up, it's exasperating!!! Hang in there! VERY good question on the waxed paper, as to which side to use: Either side, as it's processed with was permeated throughout it, so it's got it [wax] on BOTH sidesI get asked this about aluminum foil too: shiny side up? Or dull side up? Again, it doesn't matter, unless you're using the new Release aluminum foil by ReynoldsIt specifically states ON THE FOIL which side to useBTW, I've used Release for some VERY sticky cookies, and they slid offAnother consideration: Invest in a Silpat or other silicon baking pad for sticky situations.(They're about 24 bucks, and last FOREVER just about)
Q: My stainless steel pots and pans are rotten a small hole, want to use aluminum foil tape to use "
Yes, clean the part that needs to be pasted, especially without oil or water. The paste should be smooth and the edge can not be raised
Q: I am restoring my great grandpas boat and was told to get rivets to fill holes, And I researched them and theres different kinds of rivetsWhich do I use.
Aluminium blind rivetsIf the holes are elongated or worn drill out to the next size upIf similar rivets fitted to similar areas and structure have washers then fit them as needed - normally these load spreading washers are stainless, use 316 rather than the cheaper 304 seriesUse Dura-Lac or a similar anti-corrosive compound to prevent electrolysis between slightly differing grades of alloy - it is impossible to have the alloy of the hull the same as the modern rivet alloy so that is very importantRivets are structural members, so must not be replaced with other forms of repairIt is worth buying a good rivet set if you are planning on doing more than a few - the cheap guns are pretty hard on the hands and frankly just plain hurt! I use one with two long handles, this is very accurate and quite easy to use with little shock transmitted to the wristThere are concertina types and even electric and air operated types if you have a lot of money! Set all rivets the same as original - this is almost certainly to mean that you will set them from outside the boat, leaving a nicely rounded head on the outside surface - flush mounted rivets require countersinking and are usually only used in aircraft skin assembly, avoid these as they are not needed or cost effectiveThe larger rivets used to mount seats etcare still available with effort, and were set in the factory using power or hydraulic setsUse of a dolly on the outside, and a steady peening - with a ball-pein hammer strangely enough - will mount then and clamp the workIt is a two person job, and the boat hull should be well jigged or supported so no twist or fluting of the panels occurs should many rivets be missing.
Q: Anyone know of a tool I can use that will open a 46mm hole to 58mm and keep it perfectly round? Im porting an automotive intake, The intake is 1/4quot; thick aluminumI need to make the 46mm openings, 58mm wide and still keep it perfectly round Ive tried carbite burr's but they are to hard to keep stedy, and the hole is no where near round I used a 2-1/4quot; sanding drum with 36 gritt, and it worked perfect for one sideBut now I cant find any replacement drums for itIt is an odd size and I have no idea where I got it And although it worked, it was very slowI thought about useing a hole saw, But since im not making a new hole I have nothing to center a hole saw toNo way to hold it stedy.Im hoping someone knows of a reamer or someother kind of tool that will inlarge a hole in thick aluminum.thanks
