- Q:Right now the wall is horrible paneling, I am drywalling the house, but I really want one wall tiled with granite tiles. Would it be better to do this on the paneling or drywall? Will it be too heavy and rip the wall down? Is there a safe way to do this?
- Yes you can. However, to simply apply tile to the wall as it is now will not work. You will need to install a cement backer board in place of the drywall. This backer backer board will need to be screwed into the wall studs with 2 1/2 - 3 screws. The seams will need to be taped as similar to drywall. There are many other options available to you other than tile to achieve the look you are wanting. For instance, a plaster compound can be applied to the wall and made to look like a block or stone wall. Stucco or Faux finishes may be a cheaper and easier alternative.
- Q:Which colour of tiles do you think suit white kitchen cabinets??

- Q:newly installed ceramic tiles did not adhere to the tile adhesive
- Installing Tile can be a beautiful thing, but it can also be a terrible mess if not done correctly. A few things that could cause this is: Did you use mastic(glue) or thinset(concrete)? If you used Mastic that is not a good thing for an entire install on a floor, it should only be used as a repair or on small tile on a wall as it never truely dries gue to the outsite of the glue crusts and the center of the tile stays wet. If you used thinset was it mixed properly as that can be an issue due to coverage and set time. Did the back of the tile have dust on them from the box (the mill making these is dusty and sometimes tiles need to be cleaned before install) was the surface properly preped before you started? It needs to be a clean porus surface, if it is sealed or painted the tiles will not stick. Those are the most common issues, I hope this helps

- I've seen it done both ways. But I prefer to do the walls first. That way what ever mess is on the floor can be cleaned up easily and it is not on the new floor tiles

- if you never done that kind of work you better hire a professional to do that for you because when you do a shower you have to know what you're doing or it's going to leak and you don't want that to happen when you finish with all that work and then find a leak that you can't figer out where its coming from
- Q:Ok.. what i mean is this. Let‘s say you have hard tile beside the toliet and water damaged occured. Once you press down on the tile you can actually feel the weakness in the tile.. Does this automatically determine bad subflooring or is it possible just bad tile, Can I just killz over the subflooring repaint and lay new tile?
- Does the tile wobble? It could mean the adhesive under the tile has deteriorated because of water leaks. Can you get under the floor and look up?

- Yes under some special conditions.. Tile down now must be clea, free of grease and any cleaning solution residue. Must be well bonded to what ever substrate its on now. Meaning no cracks and loose tile. A special enhanced, modified thin set should be used. No foot traffic on it for a minimum ( extra is better) 2 days. This allows the thin set to dry because moisture has no where to go and you don t want to break the bond between the 2 tiles. - YES ...... you can do the work ;; it makes more sense to use drywall screws and green board as it resists moisture === than beating on the sides of the camper with nails no good == tile in the floor of the bath and plastic covered wall board is an easy way to go and is less weight...

- I agree with Rob. Not necessary to seal the tile, but it is definitely a good idea to seal the grout.
