- every year or so i take our sofa outside and turn on the power hose with garden feeder sprayer filled with anomina and clothes soap mix and do a job on it...but then it has to be out in the sun for two days and turned over every few hours...but for winter i get a shop vac and a spray bottle filled with anomina a scrub brush..( LIKE like the toilet bowl brush) and a bucket of clean water...take and spray a area the size of a cuschon scrub with the brush dipping into the clean water and washing it and vacume out the water with the shop vac...dosnt hurt to get it wet as long as you put air around it to dry....take and throw a sheet over it for the first day so your friends dont sit and say..hey your couch is wet...

- Q: do cats prefer to claw certain types of material?i'd really like leather sofas but i'm afraid of my cat clawing them. he doesn't claw my fabric sofas at the moment. he seems to like digging his claws into a rug that i have, which has quite a rough surface.any advice would be great. thanks
- I recommend Soft Claws. They come in a variety of colors and also clear. Just trim your cats nails and glue these little covers on. They even come in different sizes. The cats will walk funny for a couple of minutes but they will soon get used to them and will be OK with having them on. This should save your new couch along with anything else they like to claw on. I buy my Soft Claws on Ebay.
- Q: After weeks of looking I found the PERFECT sofa today. But I'm afraid it matches my carpet too closely. No other colors are available and I really love this sofa.The sofa is khaki and carpet is beige. Walls are white and can't be painted and my furniture is dark wood.Any ideas on how to make this work and what colors might work for throw pillows and curtains? - Well, I have an all beige living room and dark wood furniture also! I used dark reds, forest greens and golden yellows as accent colors. Buy throw pillows with texture and design, in different colors. I have a solid color throw (green), and I have three dark wood shelves with colored glass bottles in all of the colors I mentioned above, and also grape purple and dark blue. The largest picture in my room also has all the colors I needed to bring it all together. I went with a light sheer curtain to let the light in, and to keep if from looking too down in the space.
- Q: Looking for vintage i.e. 1930-1950s pillows for my new retro lookin sofa. It's called dallas steele (which is a slate blue/grey color). In tryin to keep with my depression era vintage home decor I'm wonderin what color pillows for the sofa to use? - Bright orange or maybe lemon or raspberry cusions. Not all together but anyone of these colours would look good. If you have towels teatowels clothing or anything in these colours just place them on the sofa and stand back and see if you like the colour against the sofa before you buy the cusions. I know this sounds strange but if will give you a rough idea on what it would look like in the cusions. Patterns look better as well and add another dimention to the sofa If it is too much pattern just have one or two pattern cusions and a couple of plan ones with a colour picked out from the patten ones. - Obviously it's going to be contemporary. Without seeing the sofa or the shape, it's difficult to offer what size or shape tables you should look at. Wood or glass depends on whether you want to feature a rug under the table or not. Lots of variables. Since you bought the sofa at Ikea and you are planning to go back, have the salesperson bring tables to the sofa to see how they look.

- you should have gotten the SOFA stamp the day you arrived, or if you arrived by Commercial flight, within the first couple of days of arriving. it was part of the check in process. The Military ID you can get changed at the pass and ID Office. the pqssport and Social Security you must mail in to be changed at their respective departments. MAYBE the US Embassy can handle it, but you would have to call ahead to see if they are set up to do so.

- You need to teach your dog not to jump up on the sofa. Then you can buy whatever colour you want! Why not buy a cheap leather sofa with a cover that can be taken off and shaken or washed. A cover would protect the leather from being ripped by his toe-nails! I have a leather one from a well known swedish manufacturer I**A. I have several covers so I can change the look and have them cleaned. I even bought a white one and dyed it to match the walls.
