Q:What are some good lab safety rules? Are the Physics rules any different from that of Biology or Chemistry?
It's not the schools responsibility. I would contact the local police dept. I did so on a guy who would speed by the elementary school. The cops staked out an area and pulled him over. Also, your city council could work on installing speed bumps on the street as well.
Q:I've a dishwashing job at a restaurant, I don't like to wear those annoying rubber gloves that make my hands sweat. Is it really necessary to wear gloves?
If you use 1 1/4 pipe schedule 40 and keep it under 48 you should be able to hang about 50 or so pounds on the pipe. If you go past that, it will sag pretty badly. Be sure to draw out what you want to build so you get an accurate idea of what types of fittings you will need. And above all, dry fit it first to make sure it works before you start gluing it together.
Q:OK so I bought a home in UT about 2 months ago and we didn't notice the home doesn't have smoke alarms. I read my home inspection report and surprise there is nothing in there about them it seems he didn't even look for them.SO.1) Isn't it required to have smoke detectors in a home2) Shouldn't it be in my inspection report?
Did you ever build model cars as a kid, or anything close to this? If so, you'll like CPVC. I'd go with the CPVC, and not use PVC, because CPVC will work on both Hot, and Cold water installations. CPVC, and PVC are physically different sizes, so you'd be doing a lot of juggling. Why hassle? CPVC costs just a tiny bit more than PVC, but it's worth it if you're under a house, or in a cramped space, and go..Oh crap, that parts outside, in a box in the truck! (NO, I've NEVER done that,LOL!) You can use the rubber sleeves,(looks like a black rubber piece of thick tubing), to attach the galvanized pipe to the CPVC. Sometimes the collars with the brass/plastic ferrules won't work due to size differences.(it's an adapter, that looks like a tube with two twist on caps,on each end, to connect two pipe together, going from galvanized to CPVC,[or PVC], that has a plastic 'ferrule' for CPVC, and a brass ferrule for galvanized. I use the cleaner/primer, then glue. I wait 20 seconds applying pressure to keep the part's together, then go on to the next peice. I usually wait an hour or so before I turn the water on. (I've known guy's who've turned it on after 20 minutes) It really isn't that tough, just like putting a puzzle together. I suggest a cardboard box underneath with you with pre-cleaned, and primered parts, inside, then clean, and primer your pipe ends, on the spot. Use a knife, and/or some sandpaper to de-burr the ends of the pipe after you've cut them with a hacksaw. Just my 2cent's!
Q:I am looking for a autocad add on program that will allow me to insert pipe fittings, flanges, ect. ect. I prefer the pull down menus those are really nice. The thing is, is I don't know much about piping so a program that takes the guess work out would be nice. one example is i don't know how much to trim off of a pipe in order to connect a welded 90 to the end of it. one major problem is it would have to be compatible with 2009 LT. But any suggestions would be helpful i may be able to convince my boss to purchase the full version of acad.
Unions are fittings that allow local disconnections without having to cut pipe. Most traps do have 'union' fittings - but that is not the proper term. Those are properly slip-nut fittings. Both are linked below. A hard-connected PVC trap is also linked below - such a fitting will not leak if snaked (unless broken, of course). Now, it is quite unlikely that a trap such as you describe would have removable fittings - it is far more likely that the connections are solid - especially as fitted traps are more costly than solid traps and from what you describe your house was done 'on the cheap'. Note also - if you do have to get into the ceiling it would be much better were that trap to be removed and replaced in the proper location directly under the sink. If you can avoid the expense, great. But if not, you will only have to do it once.
Q:I have a brand new 3 ton unit. (house 1350 sq ft) I had all my duct work replaced. Both inside and outside units run but my house is very hot. There is R 30 insulation in the attic, too. I need to be cool and stop wasting electricity. Help please.
No, because each party has a right to do business (or not do business) with each of the other parties.
Q:Had to change my door knob at my new place because the other one had no key to it was trying to install it (long story short) when kids started fighting and breaking stuff in the yard. pulled them apart, brought youngest in house to separate them and door wound up getting closed. The knobs weren't screwed in, now both have fallen out and the door will not open because the inside latch part is locked into the door and I can't get it open. PLEASE help me open my door! (Fortunately I do have another door to get outside, but I have NO knowledge of this kind of stuff and I don't know what to do. Please help me!)
I tried that and it WORKED! THANKS for posting the answer!
Q:My smoke detector is wired and dont use batteries. I dont know why it keeps sounding about every 10 to 15 min. it will beep once.
I would always go with sweat if possible. I have used push (compression) fittings such as sharkbite only when there was water in the pipe that wouldn't go away or if a valve isn't holding.
Q:so humans can be safe now i know they don't have anything to stop it but in the future what do you think would this creation be how to stop lightning or how to prevent it from forming
LOL. I guess the same reason the Catholic school near where I live has a security camera at the door.
Q:Is it used in Thai or Balanese cooking and if so, how please?
Darcy's Formula is the general equation for flow of fluids. I was going to list it here, but the notation would be too difficult to express in this format. Find a copy of the book Flow of Fluids Through Valves, Fittings, and Pipe, Technical paper No. 410 by Crane Valves North America
Q:The difference between the reducer joint and the strengthening pipe joint
The reducer is usually a small forging head made of small forgings.
