Q:What is the difference between a panel bed and a slat bed?

You could, but honestly it will take away from the slatted bed base. You should get the mattress from Ikea if you are going to buy a base anyway. Generally regular queen size boxspring mattresses are too high. It will look silly, if you are looking to save money, you might as well just put the mattress on the floor and forget about the slatted bed base.

Q:sadly a couple of months ago we discovered that my sister had bed bugs. so we bought her this thingie for her matress ( i think its called protect-a-bed). well now im scared to sit in chairs that she sat in and all that . so i have a couple of ?s to ask about bed bugs1. if she lays on the couch can the bed bugs be in the couch too?2. if i lay on the couch she laid on can that make me get bed bugs too?3. can a bed bug bite you and you never have any reaction to it? and lastly4. how do you get rid of the biteS?

If you live in an apartment building, or have residences on either side of you, you dont. They will vacate your living space while you are exterminating and then move right back in again. My friend managed a motel and got an infestation, had to have the whole bldg empty and have every room exterminated. If it IS an apartment, townhouse, condo etc you call the landlord. If its your own free standing home you need an expert exterminator. Then you have to figure out how you got them in the first place. Visitors? Sleep overs? Have you stayed in a hotel/motel recently? Bought second hand clothing, or bedding? They could come back for another visit if you dont know how they got there in the first place.

Q:box spring on bottom of bunk bed?I have a really comfortable full bed set but we are adopting children and the rooms would work out better if we got bunk beds so the two oldest could share the bedroom downstairs and not be woken by the baby during the night.We are looking at full/twin bunk beds. Could I use the full mattress and box springs on the bunk below? I wouldn't want to have to get rid of it and probably get something else less comfortable. The children are young, 5 and 6 so there wouldn't be a problem with not enough space between bunks for sitting up. For the top, we would get a bunk bed set up so as not to raise that bed any higher.

I myself am looking into doing this. I have two full beds and want to turn them into a full bunk bed for my son. My husband is going to build the bunk bed set. So, I am going to measure everything to see if it will work. I agree with you, I don't want to throw out a nice bed and trade it for a mattress with no box springs. I don't know if your husband is handy, but I am thinking about having the bunk bed built so that the bottom is not a lot of room under the bed. That way the room can be used for the box springs. Under the bed always ends up being a mess anyway. Good luck :)

Q:a week ago, i got bites when i woke up, and i thought they were bed bugs or something. (prob like 7 in one area on my thigh). that week, my dog stayed at my house with me. then when he left my house, i washed my sheets and i didnt get any new bites. my dog is back with me this weekend, and just an hour ago, i caught a bug on my arm when i was on my bed which is kinda like an ant size, and it's black. i'm not sure if it's a bed bug or is it fleas from my dog. it is it either bed bugs or fleas, how many of them are there usually? and how do i get rid of them?

It is probably a flea. Bed bugs don't come out when there is movement going on. They only come out at night when you sleep and they inject a numbing agent into your skin so you won't feel the bite. Also they like to hide in dark secluded areas. Check your dog for fleas. If it is fleas that are biting you then your dog will have the same bugs on his skin. Give your dog a flea bath and vacuum your room and mattress. If fleas are in your carpet you will need to get some flea powder made for carpet to kill them.
