- Q: I recently bought a new internal hard drive for my computer (Hitachi Hds721010cla332, a upgraded version of what I currently have). When trying to install it I found out that the power socket isnt the same as my current hard drive. Ive been searching on the internet but cant find an adapter that converts from my current hard drives power cable to the new hard drives required power cable.
- That is a SATA hard drive and requires a SATA data cable and a SATA power cable. The long slot is the power connecter and the short slot is for the data cable. If you power supply does not have a SATA power connecter, all you need is a 4 pin molex to SATA power adapter. They are available at any computer supply outlet. Staples, or Office Depot, or any good computer repair shop should have one. The little port that you have circled in the photo does not need a connection.
- Q: ok ive been having amp trouble lately. it wont turn on. ive figured the problem today when i got the voltage tester out. I have me Remote Turn On working.My ground is solid.RCAs connected properly.NO fuses are blown. ive checked all of them; 30 amp fuse for AMP, Max fuse under the hood, fuse relay center under the hood too, all good. connection from the power terminal is solid. heres what happened: i decided to move my amp and run the wires under the door sills because i needed more space. so i just had the car off and i disconnected my remote, power, and rcas. i left the ground because that didnt need to be moved.i dropped the power wire and it hit a seatbelt thing, and it sparked once. but not big.nothing blew, but now it seems like my power wire isnt working, my amp wont turn on-keep in mind my amp was not touched by the spark in any way.
- that's odd. a power wire is way too big to burn and lose conductivity. no way, not on car amperage. u can look up any manufacturer dealer authorized electronics shop, or any electronics shop and have them bench test the amp to be safe. My guess is the conductivity of the power wire is compromised. look at the battery terminal connections, remove and clean them. maybe burnt. this is odd. seriously I installed many systems and I have sparked and no issues. also shorted battery ( i doubt) and as the man above says, main fuse / relay

- It does not seem likely that you will have a substantial problem with noise from speaker cables going through power cables and then the amp. Besides sheilding, use of capacitors on the power cable at the amp end (follow correct polarity on electrolytic types) will kill noise. A properly-rated, and connected, Zener diode is another step. Such things as antenna-leads are so sensitive that they are always well-shielded. ______________________________________... As for zener diode use, I have never heard of them being used in this application. But then, many new ideas have never been applied before. Sparky has pestered me with not one, but *two* hostile emails and is in some state of jealous frustration. He can't seem to figure how one could supress overvoltage transients using a zener (duh). If he had asked respectfully, I would have told him what I was thinking, but since he is determined to be a jerk about it, then whatever...
- Q: I would like to buy a replacement. What AC/DC adaptor should I buy? Should I buy the exact same model (FSP150-AAA)? I assume any AC/DC adaptor that has the same spec is ok but I am not sure what is the key for the spec. Any advice would be appreciated.
- There appear to be various manufacturers of FSP150-AAA power supplies. You must have a substantial laptop or whatever that is powering. Most laptops have 65 to 90 watt PSU, my gaming laptop is 120 watt, and FSP150-AAA is 150 watt. Or is that an all-in-one PC where the computer is built into a screen? The one you link to is one of the ones I found in a web search.
- Q: What is the distance between the power cable and the thermal pipe when it is laid above the thermal pipe?

- Running 2 seperate power cables is fine. In theory the current will split and each cable will carry the same amount of current. In reality, it will not be exact but it will be so friggin close that it doesn't matter!!! Yes you can run multiple cables, but two lengths of 4ga is going to cost you more than one length of 2ga. Unless you already have the stuff laying around, just get the larger cable. Besides, if you run two seperate cables, you will need to use some sort of distribution block to tie the two cables back together at the amp then have a conductor capable of carrying the current to your amp, or all your heavy cable doesn't mean squat. Less money will be spent in the long run by using one larger cable! As for how much current a size cable can carry: 14ga = 15A 12ga = 20A 10ga = 30A 8ga = 80A 6ga = 105A 4ga = 140A 2ga = 190A 1ga = 220A 1/0 = 260A 2/0 = 300A These wire ampacities are according to the NEC (National Electrical Code) and are set for wire to be used in any structure. The wire can actually carry more current than what I have listed, taking consideration that the wire is in an environment that it can be cooled or is in an open-air environment. If you run two 4ga wire to your amp, you have the ability to supply the amp with 280A of current (by multiplying 140 * 2). Do you need larger wire running to your amp? Only if you are having a voltage drop at your amp. The idea is to be able to supply the amp with 12V at its maximum current. If you run too small a wire to the amp, as you crank up the volume the ampacity of the wire will be maxed out and your 12V turns into something like 11,10,9... volts and your amp no longer amplifies your tunes.
- Q: Acoustic Audio 10 inch home theatre powered subwoofer use speaker wire or subwoofer cable?
- Use a long RCA cable. If you use speaker wire - you have to run wires from the left/right outputs to the sub, then more wire from the sub to the left/right speakers. Then you have to tell your receiver your left/right speakers are LARGE and you do not have a sub to get things to work. A single long RCA cable is simpler. You can even make your own with pre-terminated CATV coax and some F-to-RCA-Male adapters from Radio Shack. Subwoofer signals work fine and do not need any kind of higher end RCA cable.

- Please note HD 6850 is a high end gfx card and requires 6 pin power connector. if you want to fry you mobo - then use gfx card without 6 pin power!!!? while running the gfx card will try to take power fm mobo and that time to give support to gfx card your mobo will fry for sure. thanks

- no offence but its a rip. go to walmart and buy an AUX cable they are 8 bucks and they will fit ipods phones and all that good stuff.
