This places are hard to get to and have excess paint in them making it harder to remove it all.I do believe in most of the commercials I have seen on TV I would swear the piece of wood they were stripping had just been freshly varnished then painted which makes the paint come off even easier since the surface is new with no scratches or dents for the paint to sink into which also makes it time consuming and difficult to remove. Q: So I hate the vanity that I have right now in the bathroom that I share with my foster sister because it has cabinet doors instead of pull out drawers.Because there is two of us thats twice as much stuff so the storage under our sink is very crowded and messy. Here's a couple of suggestions for you though, and cheaper as well. First look at wall mount medicine cabinets with mirrored doors. It gives you the mirror you lack and additional storage. They mount with screws right onto the drywall. Another option is to get a wall cabinet and mount it over the toilet. You can buy an unfinished cabinet for under $100. The cabinets come at 30' tall and vary in widths in increments of 3' (ie: 12', 15', 18' and so on)That will give you more storage, but doesn't help with the mirror.

If you're remodeling, I'd suggest going to check out samples of bathroom vanity cabinets. The depth of the vanity varies and cultured tops can be any size. They are always on sale at Home Depot. Consider something that is not deep and something you can live with. Another option would be to consider a pedestal sink and these can be very shallow in depth. You should consider doing some customizing since you will be both using this. My wife is 5'3 using a pedestal sink and uses the mirror just fine. I had a mirror cabinet mounted 3 lower than standard and she's happy with the results. If you have that extra kitchen cabinet, don't use it in the bathroom. It will work better in the garage. It will save you grief in the long run because as you get older, you won't want to lean over the sink to get to the mirror.

Q: I have an outdated bathroom vanity (double sink) that I'd like to update but on a budget. The counter top and sink is beige in color (which matches the toilet and bathtub) and the wood cabinets underneath is oak (with a bit of grooved paneling). I can't afford to get all white fixtures so I thought I'd re-stain or paint the oak in a dark chocolate brown or dark walnut (?) or even almost a black just to give a good contrast in color. What do you think of the color combo?
