Q: An 800N painter stands 3.00m from the left end of a scaffold that is 4.00m long. The uniform wooden scaffold weighs 100N and is hung by a chain at each end. What is the tension in each chain?A uniform meter stick weighs 25 N. An 80 N weight is hung at the 20.0cm mark. A 70.0N weight is hung at the 90cm mark. what is the magnitude of the upward force needed to balance the meter stick? Please help! I have a huge exam on these and my teacher wouldn't help me! I am so stumped please help!
Required conditions for equilibrium (Other wise the scaffold is moving) Sum of forces = 0 Sum of Torques = 0 Sum of Forces Painter: 800 N DOWN Scaffold: 100 N Down Sum of tensions in chains = 800 + 100 = 900 N UP Sum of Torques (Pick one end, it does not matter which. I choose the Left end) Torque = Force * Lever arm Painter is 3.0 meters from Left end Tp = 800 N * 3.00 m = 2,400 N-m CW (Clockwise) Center of gravity is at the center of the scaffold or 4/2 = 2 meters from the Left enf Ts = 100 * 2 = 200 N-m CW This means that the chain on the Right end must supply 2400 + 200 = 2600 N-m CCW Tc = Fc * 4.00 m 2600 = Fc * 4 Fc= 650 N UP Total need up is 900 N====> 900 - 650 = 250 N in Left chain QED
Q: I'm asking this in favour of my friend who currently has no internet. She had her scaffold piercing done about 2 days ago and today it got knocked and started bleeding. It's been bleeding for about 3 hours now and she's worried about it.
First you gotta stop touching it, that's probably causing the irratation, hence bleeding. IT'll take time to heal, just leave it alone clean out the blood every hour or so, BE CAREFUL! and LEAVE IT IN!
Q: I got my scaffold/industrial piercing today..about 4 or 5 hours ago and The glands in my neck are now swollen pretty bad..I usually suffer with swollen glands but not this much..is this from the piercing?? Is it dangerous? Also my ear still stings is that normal? Thanks in advance
Gosh Industrial do harm I'm now not going to lie. Cartilage piercings do not harm. But industrials are quite tough to handle. If you'll be able to manage affliction then get it. They're valued at it however they do harm.
Q: How much is the price of the bowl buckle scaffold
The crossbar is 3850 M / T, the wall thickness is chosen from 2.5mm-3.5mmm, the most common wall thickness is 3.0mm. Reference price
Q: im asking this because when i get back to school in september i will probably need to take it out for PE once a week in the mornings if thats possible, i cant tell my teacher that i cant do PE because if they found out i had the piercing they wold ask me to take it out as its school rules to not have any piercing other than the lobes.so should i even get it, i really want it.
Takes about 3 months (so piercers say) to heal. Although in my first year of having it, whenever i took it out, it would pretty much immediately start healing :/ I took it out once for half an hour and it felt tight when i tried to get the bar back in. My ear was numbed when it was pierced but it did hurt for a few hours afterwards (everyone's different) - just like a burning ache really not proper painful :) obviously it WRECKS when you bang/catch it but i've had this for 3 years now and its fine.
Q: For my last piercing i think im gona make it worth it and get one of them ^^^ but i just looked on a website that describes them as both of them words i was just wondering are they completely different piercings ? and if so which one would be the better one to get?
From what I've seen what the piercing is called varies from country - in the US/Canada I've heard most people call it an industrial, and the people that have called it scaffold are typically from the UK.
Q: I got my scaffolding piercing today, inevitably it's sore, but do i clean it like you would clean normal piercings with salt water?also how long before i can turn the bar?and how long before i can change the bar?Plus. it hurt so much haha
I got mine about a month ago, but i thought after about a week it didn't really hurt no more and i could rotate it and more recently i can move the bar up and down with no pain. I don't know how long till you can change the bar because i want to change mine because it don't hurt no more, am going to pop into the shop and check. And i didn't clean mine with salt water i got a cleaning solution when i got it pierced and also my piercer gave me a bottle of antiseptic skin paint which i put on twice a week before i go to bed and it is men to help the piercing heal
Q: A 75kg painter stands on a 5.5m long uniform plank resting on a scaffold. If the plank's mass is 20kg , how close to the left end of the plank can he stand without tipping the plank? ( The scaffold supports are 2.5m apart, and the plank extends beyond the scafold supports, 1.5m on each end.)
The mass of the plank on the left side of the scaffold is: M? = (20 kg) × (1.5 m) / (5.5 m) = 5.45 kg The distance between the scaffold and the center of mass on the left side is: L? = (1.5 m) / 2 = 0.75 m So the torque of the plank on the left side is: T? = (5.45 kg)×(0.75 m) = 4 kgm The mass of the plank on the right side of the scaffold is: M? = (20 kg) × ((5.5 m) - (1.5 m)) / (5.5 m) = 14.5 kg The distance between the scaffold and the center of mass on the left side is: L? = ((5.5 m) - (1.5 m)) / 2 = 2 m So the torque of the plank on the left side is: T? = (14.5 kg)×(2 m) = 29 kgm Now, say the painter stands at X meter on the left side from the scaffold, so the torque added on the left side is: T? = X × (75 kg) The total torque on the left must be the same as the total torque on the right, so (4 kgm) + X×(75 kg) = (29 kgm) X×(75 kg) = (25 kgm) X = 0.333 m That is the maximum distance the painter can move away from the scaffold, so the distance to the end of the scaffold is: D = (1.5 m) - (0.333 m) = 1.167 m < - - - - - - answer
Q: I have to write an essay on the use of the scaffold in the novel. The first use is in the beginning when Hester is standing on it for public punishment. The third time is at the end, when Dimmesdale pleads for forgiveness and then dies. I am confused on the second time it is used. Any ideas?
its when Hester, Pearl, and Dimmesdale are standing on it in the middle of the night and Chillingworth sees them. Dimmesdale is there because hes doing the same thing Hester had to do just without the whole town watching =]
Q: i'm writting an essay about symbols in the scarlet letter. can you tell me what the scaffold symbolizes or any other symbols. thanks
