I hated this ridiculously expensive vacuum so much that after 3 months, I went out and bought a Kenmore for less than $100. This vacuum works 100% better and the chord has a button and retracts into the machine. I love it and am getting rid of the Dyson. *** I wouldn't buy it.

Q: Is Dyson the best vacuum or are the bagged vacuum still actually clean better, we just put in laminate hardwood floors last year and this year we are replacing all the carpet and want it to last!: the bagged vacuum cleaners work ok but it is trying to finding the bags when they stop making that model. a good vacuum last at least 5 to 7 years. i personally went for the Eureka pet fresh. 1 for the pet attachment. 2.) the cost because i have family members that don't respect the tools needed for cleaning the house. and 3.) the biggest on of all more suction power it is still 12 amps but when you put the pet adapter on it is turbo...people think i am odd but it works. i am a female male i want my power tools to work and kick butt. i don't have time to clean with half as tools. 4.) finally it has no bags it does have filters, I find having a bag less vacuum i can clean it monthly and it does not have any issues and i do empty the container after every vacuum use. the Dyson is my goal. and oh yes the Eureka is heavy

Q: Anyone else have the experience of their dog turns into a raving lunatic when you get the vacuum cleaner out? How can you get him to stop barking?: hmmm, That's curious. My dog doesn't mind the vacuum cleaner, but it drives one of my birds up the wall. I wouldn't react and yell at the dog to be quiet (which is EVERYBODY'S first reaction. It gets so annoying!) If you can just ignore the barking and try to reassure the dog it might help. I do this with my bird and he usually does stop freaking out. Now, if only you have a 'birddog' Hahahahah! er, it really wasn't that funny, was it? Okay, I'll go away now.
