Q:STAINLESS STELL AND MS STEEL MATERIAL WELDING POSSIBLE OR NOT?
Welding austenitic stainless steels to carbon and low alloy steels are established methods in the process and construction industries. Dissimilar metal welds involving stainless steels can be done using most full fusion weld methods, including TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) and MIG (Metal Inert Gas). Weld procedures using filler (consumable) enable better control of joint corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. In selecting the weld filler, the joint is considered as being stainless, rather than the carbon steel. Over-alloyed fillers are used to avoid dilution of the alloying elements in the fusion zone of the parent stainless steel.
Q:steel or aluminum? I'm looking to try a steel mtb for first time?
Im a huge fan of steel frames. #1. they dont feel like they are bouncing off things like aluminum #2. they absorb more vibrations #3. they can be fixed if you wreck them #4. They dont weigh much more (if anymore) then aluminum #5. you are in a very limited clique #6. a steel frame will far out-live an aluminum frame. #7. it doesnt sound like your riding a tin can. #8. break a hose or cable guide, and you simply can take it down to your local muffler shop and have them weld one back on.. an aluminum frame is so fragile it will probably have to be replaced. Aluminum frames do have their pluses. #1. they are very stiff #2. you dont have to worry about rust #3. every company on the planet makes aluminum frames so they are easy to find... #4. looks. because aluminum is so stiff, there are some very radical frame designs. steel frames are just boring to look at. if you like steel frames, you wont want to go to aluminum. if you like aluminum, you could consider steel.
Q:Shaft stiffness in steel irons???
If i understand you correctly, i think you misunderstand shafts. Steel shafts vs. graphite shafts these days is more of a competition of weights, not flexibility. Both steel and Graphite have different flex profiles available from Ladies (L) to super stiff (X). Graphite may feel a little more whippy than steel because of the lighter weight. Shafts will vary by company as well. Stiff from True temper may not be as stiff as one from Aldila, or vice verse. You can also make a shaft play stiffer or more flexible by where you cut the length. This is called tipping. Take more from the bottom and it will be stiffer, more from the grip end and it will play more flexible.
Q:Is rail steel like other types of steel?
Steel okorder.com... If care is not taken in the method used to melt the steel that alloy will change because the carbon will burn in the process. Also part of a steels rating is a result of heat treatments used. When melted it will loose those properties. By the way rail road ties are either wood or concrete- not steel.
Q:Will painted steel rust?
Rust is the process of steel oxidizing when in contact with oxygen, this reaction can be much fast if certain components are present, such as wet air or water. However, if the paint completely isolates the steel from the environment, the encompassed steel will never rust as long as paint shields it. Aluminum corrodes but it does not rust. Rust refers only to iron and steel corrosion. Aluminum is actually very prone to corrosion. However, aluminum corrosion is aluminum oxide, a very hard material that actually protects the aluminum from further corrosion. Aluminum oxide corrosion also looks a lot more like aluminum, so it isn't as easy to notice as rusted iron.
Q:Steel Garage...........!!?
Maintaining Your Steel Garage: # Clean your garage doors with a mild detergent using a soft car brush four times a year. # Clean the doors whenever they wash you car (washing your garage doors regularly will reduce the build up of corrosive elements) #Avoid using any abrasive cleaners or corrosive chemicals on or around your garage doors. # Avoid using salt near the garage door as it may corrode the door elements / hardware. Or you can paint your steel garage: #Step 1 Clean the door using a low-pressure sprayer. Combine 5 gallons of warm water and 1 cup of low-phosphate detergent to clean the surface. Rinse well and dry the surface. #Step 2 Lightly sand and smooth the scratches which do not go through to the metal substrate. Dust off sand residue. For a door with a baked on finish, use a powdered cleanser (diluted with water) and a soft brush to rough up the surface for better paint adhesion; do not use sand paper. Rinse with water and allow it to dry. #Step 3 Apply primer to areas where scratches permeate to the metal substrate to avoid future rusting or corrosion. Allow it to dry. #Step 4 Paint the door with an even coat of latex exterior house paint. If your steel garage has a dent check out the site(the last source link at the bottom)
Q:Recycling steel baked bean cans?
Most baked beans are cooked with pork and include a piece in the can. Depending on what kind of vegetarian you are, you could eat them and simply remove the piece of pork, or, Bush's has vegetarian baked beans which are obviously cooked without the meat seasoning. They are very good, and of course beans are an excellent and needed source of protein in a vegetarian diet.
Q:Mild Steel furniture finishing?
No, I don't think the oil will do what you want. I have heated and quenched metal in oil several times (to harden it) and it did not give a finish to steel. I have heard of heating steel to a high temperature (red) and putting powdered sulfur on it, it will make a black finish. BUT, sulfur stinks and you would not do this indoors. And I don't know what the results would be like for indoor use. At the hardware store, you can find something like POR (paint on rust), a brand name of rust neutralizer. There are others. You spray it on (or paint) and it will turn rust into a glossy black material. Other than that, I think paint is your best option. Check out the new finishes they have now, if you haven't checked, they have come a long way. If you let them dry completely (in the sun) the spray can finishes are very durable. Good luck! Ooops, I forgot about gun finishes. Yes, some are blue, you might be thinking of that, but that is only if you put several coats on. One coat might do it. Plus, there are other colors, such as black (see the parkerizing link on the list). Here is a good company, they can be lots of help, too.
Q:i have guestion a bout steel?
Stainless Steels are alloys that are made up of iron and generally contain around 11.5% chromium. For obtaining special properties, nickel, carbon, chromium, and other elements can be added to it. There are four types of Steel : Carbon Steel Alloy Steel Stainless Steel Tool Steel From kitchen utensils to cutlery, sinks to machine drums, as well as microwave oven liners mainly, use Stainless Steel. One can find different types of products such as Stainless Steel Tube Fittings, Pipe Fittings, Flanges, pipes, Tubes, Fasteners, Sheets, Rods, Bars and so forth are used in different industries. List of typical applications of these Stainless Steel products include: Oil and gas equipments Offshore technology Seawater desalination plants Chemical industry Bridges Storage tanks Medical Industry Civil Engineering Pressure vessels, reactor tanks, and heat exchangers Rotors, impellers and shafts Power plants Petrochemical Shipbuilding industry
Q:Stain on stainless steel sink...?
in your super market their is a pad that is green and is called scooth bright use it on the stain and it will remve it
