Q: My husband ( yes...the one with the dents in his head from the cooker hood ) is fixing rustic tiles in my kitchen. He has done loads of tiling with plain tiles ( i.e straight edges!!) but we're wondering about spacing these with irregular edges. Very little advice on the web apart from to space them more widely which doesn't really help! Anyone done this and pleased with the result?
Boy Boy and Julie are right about these types of tile.. One thing they didn t hit on is the type of tile can make a difference on the spacing. The body type and the thickness will effect the type of grout you use and thus the spacing also..From experiance ( 20 years) I m guessing you ll need a sanded grout and a minimum of 1/8 inch spacing from the way you discribe the tile..If they have a rounded type edge keep the space to and 1/8 th inch since when you grout it flush that round edge will cause the grout joint to widen and look like 1/4 inch space..If there a square edge then you cal go to maybe 3/8 or 1/4 inch depending on the look you like and just how much outta size they are..GL any ?? e mail me
Q: I‘m redoing my shower and want a tile floor at least. The bottom of the floor is about 6‘x6‘. I either want big tiles or the smaller tiles that are already connected on the back of them. Ideas?
Where I live we have a place that sells used house fixtures. They go to demolition sites and scavage everything that is usable. They resell it and the proceeds go to the Habitat for Humanity. You can often get very inexpensive materials there. Maybe your city has a place like this too.
Q: How did the tiles come out?
3, polished tiles Polished tiles is the surface of the whole body of brick body polished by a kind of bright bricks, belonging to a kind of quintana brick. In contrast to the whole body bricks, the surface of the polished tiles is much smoother. Polished tiles are hard and wearable and are suitable for use in most interior spaces except for toilets and kitchens. In the use of infiltration technology on the basis of polished tiles can make a variety of imitation stone, imitation wood effect. Polished tiles will be polished when polished stomata, these pores will be filth, and even some tea poured on the polished tiles are back to the days of weakness. Perhaps the industry is aware of this, and later some good quality polished tiles in the factory are added a layer of anti-fouling layer, but this layer of anti-fouling layer and polished brick to lose the effect of the whole body brick. If you want to continue the whole body, had to continue to brush anti-fouling. The decoration industry also has a water wax before the construction to prevent sticky practices.
Q: I am ready to tile a kitchen island, it has the rough shape of HOME PLATE, though not pointy. What is the best way to cover those odds angles effectively? Should I butt two edge tiles together? Also, I am not fond of the 16th inch spacing in tiles, I prefer 1/4 in gaps...any issues for the top of counter. The sides will be 1/8th gap.AdamDeridder,La
How About....... you use the big tiles all in the middle and make a pretty mosaic from pieces (or those tiny tiles that match the other tile) all around the edges or where ever it is difficult to cover. OR....just be creative and mosaic the whole thing!! Not an expert just obsessed with DIY and HGTV etc....
Q: How to calculate the area of the toilet and kitchen tiles
4 wall, remove the window area. Plus the surface area is all
Q: The walls of the decorative panels and tiles two materials in the interface where how to close the mouth
If the two are in a plane, the operation is relatively simple, you can use natural sewing, sealing sealant closed, embedded in the T-shaped aluminum and other methods; if not in a plane, there are high and low, you can use L-shaped aluminum or stainless steel cover Prominent side. If the floor and floor tiles made of the same level, you can use T-type or | stainless steel bar separated edge. If the wood floor is higher than the tiles, you can use the wooden floor to do the baseboard. Through the decorative side of the edge, angle and the part of the process of processing, in order to make up for the lack of decoration, to enhance the decorative effect of the purpose. It refers to the one hand, the mouth of the mouth of the mouth of the mouth of the seam and the treatment of the mouth, with the decorative material cover, to avoid the impact of grass-roots material exposed effect; the other hand refers to the use of special materials on the decorative surface Transition parts to decorate, to enhance the effect of decoration. The level of the process and the level of beauty is reflected in a perfect "works" of the key.
Q: My husband and I just purchased a condo. We want to retile the bathroom in a more modern looking tile or maybe a marble or some kind of fancy tile. We are going to do it ourselves. Where can we find good prices on the tile?

Q: What is the tile material?
Tile raw materials from the clay, quartz sand and so on mixed.
Q: More specifically, do you lay the tile right against the floorboard with no groat visible? Or would you put a spacer in between the floorboard and the tile so that it you have grout along the edge?
It is honestly all up to the look you prefer. I for example always remove the baseboards and put a quarter inch space in between the tile and the wall (gives you a seamless result). In doing so, when you put the baseboards back on the wall - any mistakes are hidden - and the job just looks more complete. You can however go the route you are talking about (I've seen it done) - and personally I think that adding a grout line is the way to go - mainly b/c not all walls are square - and the likelihood of you having a seamless edge against the baseboard is slim. Good luck,
Q: Is laying the self stick tile good for a kitchen
no i dis like selfstick go with a glue down like durastone or permastone self stick always dries out and comes loose
