Q: so im lost in how i should wire my subs. I have two subs that i need to wire both are 2 ohms 400 watts i don't know if i should wire them parallel or series if you can help me out that would be great!
usually all sub wiring is the same, youll have the rca cables and antenna wire comming from the radio to the amp, power and ground wire going from amp to battery and ground, and than should have 2 wires coming off each sub to the amp, im guessing thatd be parallel, if you wire in series, so like use 2 wires and splice off to each sub, so 2 wires off the amp powering each sub you would up the ohms and put a too much of a load on the amp, people only wire in series when they have too many subs and not enough outlets on the amp, good luck
Q: Ceiling fan has a black wire, white wire, green wire and also a black and white wire.
The black and white wire provides power to the lights; the black wire is to power the fan motor. If you have separate wall switches for lights and fan, you can control them separately. If there's a red wire in the box, connect it to the black and white fixture wire. The black goes to the black fan wire. The green is connected to the green screw on the fixture. All of the whites should be joined together. If you do not have separate wall switches for fan and lights, just join the black, black+white and black house wire together. You will then have to control the light with a pull cord.
Q: I moved into a home with pre-wired speakers. There is a bundle of speaker wire coming out of the wall. Each wire has 4 colors of other wire coming out of it. There are a total of 7 main wires (with four wires each) and a total of 9 speakers.
4 conductor wire has a few neat uses. 1 is to bi-wire your speakers. Meaning that if the speaker has 2 red and 2 black terminals then remove the bridge and run the cables to the posts separately thus increasing surface conduction and increasing output and sound quality. Also if you are running cables in the wall to 2 speakers that are near each other or to a single stereo speaker then you don't have to run 2 separate 2-conductor wires. This would also be true if you are running to a second zone using an in wall volume control. If this is the only wire you have for a standard speaker connection it won't hurt to twist them together at both end (pos with pos/ neg with neg) and serves the same purpose as using thicker cables.
Q: i know what spark plugs are but what are plug wires and the purpose of getting them. what do the plug wires do? someone told me that it was time to get spark plugs and plug wires replaced on my 2000 impala.
it rather is achieveable to get undesirable cord or undesirable spark plugs or the incorrect spark plugs. it rather is not any longer that easy via, it rather is greater straightforward to get the incorrect spark plugs or combination up the spark plug wires. yet you may no longer miss cord only one spark plug cord, and with the coil packs according to cylinder one can actual could artwork to miss cord it. So i'm assuming which you have a Ford Explorer with a rotary distributor, and the two a 6 or 8 cylinder engine. tell your husband the difficulty and function him recheck his artwork. Get out your vendors instruction manual and be sure you have the extraordinary spark plug to your motor vehicle. be sure that the spark plugs are ideal and securely outfitted, that the spark plug wires are securely outfitted, and that the wires are under pressure to the extraordinary plug. in keeping with what year of ford you have this could be rather hassle-free to do yet you will could know the firing order. Get a restoration instruction manual from the library or look it up by utilising ability of the internet usually the firing order could have a diagram that teach how the spark plug cord run. If all looks so as or that's previous our ability then bypass to a outstanding storage or ford dealership. you do no longer desire to tension if avoidable, you may reason greater severe harm. appropriate of success
Q: cd wires tie into what color wires in your car
if the harness is cut Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Orange Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Yellow Car Radio Ground Wire: Black Car Radio Illumination Wire: Gray Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: Brown Car Stereo Antenna Trigger: Pink Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: N/A Car Stereo Amplifier Location: N/A Car Audio Front Speakers Size: N/A Car Audio Front Speakers Location: N/A Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Tan Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Gray Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Light Green Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Dark Green Car Audio Rear Speakers Size: N/A Car Audio Rear Speakers Location: N/A Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Yellow Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Dark Blue Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Light Blue good luck and i hope this helps
Q: i have a 2002 pontiac sunfire where is my ground wire located? what does it look like?
Ground wire for what?
Q: I just bought a remote starter/keyless entry/alarm system, i'm looking to install it myself... I'm just wondering what gauge wire that most cars use.I'm assuming power wires are lower gauge then others, Could I use 16 gauge for power lines or would i need something larger? Thanks in advanced.
Why do you need to wire the stereo to the battery? Only thing you should have to wire directly to the battery is an amp. If you are wiring the amp to the battery I would say use a 4 gauge. Now, this depends on the rms of watts going to the amp, but 4 gauge is always a safe bet and give you room for growth in the future if you want to upgrade.
Q: Wired car radio no sound powered on then wires crossed had to run red straight to battery. Then memory and ground crossed. Now nothing. Checked fuses radio fuse is bad. Will i also need a new wiring harness? Stereo Works fine when hooked up to battery charger.
Yeah i had them all wired together right i didnt tape them off cause i was trying to see if there was a bad speaker or something and.the.ignition wires hit.the.ground so i ran it straight to the battery cause i thought the ignition wire shorted out in harness then i was told to check radio fuse.
Q: I am hooking up a subwoofer in my 01' civic and i cant figure out where the remote wire from the amp connects to in the back of my new headunit. Do i need a wiring harness? any help would be appreciated thanks
How To Wire A Subwoofer
Q: I have 4 gauge wiring ground and power cables, as well as a smaller guage wiring that is colored grey. I have the amp hooked up to the gound and power, how do I connect the sub to the amp?The subs is a 08 L7 in the kicker truck box wired to 2 ohms. The amp is the Alpine PDX 1.600.
take (i use 12 gauge wire on my sub installs) 16-14 gauge wire and hook up the positive on the amp to the red terminal on the sub and negative to the black one. I'm not really sure what you need exactly
