FAQ
1. For Polished Porcelain Tile, is the 30*60 available?
—— Yes, 30*60 is available. Due to the basic size is 60*60, we need to cut 60*60 tile into 30*60. 6 pcs are packed into one carton.
2. What is the MOQ for this tile?
—— Normally the MOQ is 1382.4 m2 for one 20’ container. To support our clients, we could go with 3 models to fill one container at most.
3. Can we use the carton with our own design and brand name?
—— Yes. Normally we go with Neutral Carton or our Carton with our CMAX brand name. But for carton of client’s own design, the MOQ for one size is 5 containers, due to the carton factory can’t arrange production if quantity is below 5000 pcs.
- Q: My dad layed tiles in his kitchen recently. He had some plywood type stuff that he layed them on top of so they are on a flat, even surface. But then someone told him he should have put a netting type stuff underneith the tiles too, to keep them from breaking. Is that very important, will his floor be ruined now?
- Its called wire mesh. Its not used as much anymore. What makes tiles or grout crack is the wood below the tiles. If the floor joists are too far apart and the plywood is not thick enough it can cause the floor to move. Even a little bit of movement can cause the tiles and the grout to crack. The wire mesh will not help if the floor moves.
- Q: do i remove toilet, vinyl tile and sink cabinet. under lay for tile? what holds ceramic tile down?
- yes, you should remove everything and install cement board as your new underlayment
- Q: we layed tile after hurricane katrina whats the protocal about if you should tile the whole house with the same color tile my 10 yr old wants different tile then we layed in the bedroom. Does this effect the value of your home or does it matter?
- you could certainly vary colors in closed off rooms like a bedroom or bath or two, but i would still stick to something not too outlandish, because too distinctive a color could turn someone off in the future, and tile, unlike carpet, is a real pain to rip out. p.s. there are some things about which it is not wise to give a 10 year old free choice...this may be one of them...try to find other ways to brighten up and decorate the child's room without committing to too different a color on the floor. p.p.s. congrats on your choice of hard flooring...it is so much cleaner and healthier than carpeting
- Q: We have cement tiles in our apartment. To wash them, I just use liquid soap and water; I don‘t want to use toxic products. The tiles are dull-looking, though. How do I get them to shine?
- At your local home improvement store they have a sealant that will bring shine to cement tiles. They have to be cleaned real good and then you put this over the tiles. Just ask an associate, and they will point you in the right direction. :-)
- Q: I had new stone tile laid in my bathroom. 18 x 18 pieces, diagonally laid. One piece by the edge must have been stepped on by one of the tile layers as they were leaving and it got pushed down, so it‘s not level with the rest of the tiles by a small fraction. Its not noticeable if you walk on it with shoes, but if you walk on it barefoot or if you get down and feel it with your hands, there is clearly a noticeable difference. The flooring company refuses to come back and fix it claiming I did it. The piece is on the edge butting up against carpet from the bedroom. Is there any way I can make this tile level myself to avoid the hassle of trying to sue or file complaints against the flooring company? Maybe cut out that one piece without damaging and just put a new layer of the cement underneath it? I don‘t know. I‘ve never done tiling before.
- I assume it's ceramic tiles, not vinyl? It's probably the wood subfloor or wood tile underlayment, you can use some wood screws underneath the floor to tighten the plywood to the floor joists. Of course, that might mean opening up the ceiling below, but that's probably easier to patch than the tile floor. Or, you remove some of the tile grout, and screw into the joist from above, then re-grout. That could be tricky- you need to know exactly where the floor joists are.
- Q: My kitchen has a white ceramic tile floor. It never looks clean, every speck of dirt shows. Because we live in a slab home, the tiles are glued right to the concrete. I hate to think how much work it would be to remove them. I could tile over - but it would make the kitchen floor higher than the surrounding rooms. Is there any suitable product for changing the color of the tile in such a high traffic area?
- There is no GOOD way to do this. And you are right in that tiling over tile is a bad idea. You could go over it with a product like DuraCeramic, which would only raise the floor level up a small amount, but be aware that anything you put over that surface will likely make the existing surface unusable forevermore and you might regret it someday. The real solution would be to demo the existing tile and install new tile.
- Q: I would like to redo my entire house in ceramic tile floors but money is tight. I‘m planning to do the entire thing with leftovers I can get from other people who have finished their own tile projects. Is it possible ot use wall tiles on the floor for small areas? Are wall tiles able to withstand the pressure of walking? Any advice?
- Sounds like your floor is going to look like grandma's quilt. You sure you don't want to use wood or wood-laminate instead?
- Q: OK here is my problem. I want to switch my bath tub to an all-tile shower and wonder how to do it. So far the tile were set onto a cement board that was itself put on top of the drywall. I am wondering if this is a common thing. From all my research, it looks like tile should be on the cement board, but there is no use for extra drywall behind it. It actually makes things tougher because you need some sort of corner tile instead of normal bullnose since the cement board and the rest of the wall are not at the same level. My second question is: is there an order to do all this i.e. should I make the shower pan (sort of rubber sheet filled with cement), before or after I install the cement board on the wall. Is there a specific angle used for the drain? Thanks in advance for all your tips.
- If you have never done a shower before, I suggest purchasing a shower pan instead of making one yourself. Take out everything around your tub to the studs, then install the plumbing and pan, cement board (no need to have drywall behind it), tile and grout. You will see the drain attached to your tub, will probably need to move it in order to line up for the shower pan. It is not an easy job, depending on how the pipes run and if floor joists will create a problem in moving the drain. You may want to move the supply lines as well to have a typical shower height faucet.
- Q: the tile squares have come off and I need to re-stick them. Which glue should I use?
- What kind of tile, and where is it? On the wall or the floor?
- Q: My house has been posted on the external walls of the tile, and now dissatisfied, there is no way not to pull out, doing other good decoration If the ceramic tile and then brush the external wall paint, will not be a long time or the tide, the paint fell
- Tiles on the Tu is estimated that it is not too reliable, personal opinion can go to Taobao to see those tile film or wall stickers and the like, in fact, sometimes only need a few stickers, the appearance may feel very different, Save money is also easy to replace, quite good.
