Q:Are bagged vacuums better when looking at low cost machines?
After making the mistake of buying 2 bagless vacs in the last 10 years, I have decided that my next vacuum will definitely be bagged. The first bagless lasted less than 4 years and I can't find filters anywhere except on-line for the 2nd vac and it would almost be cheaper to just buy a new vacuum than replace the filters.....I will be buying a new bagged vacuum soon.
Q:My little brother hates vacuum cleaners.?
Lol he will probaly be fine. He is just a little kid who is probaly startled by the loud noises the vacuum makes. As he gets older he will learn it is nothing to be afraid of. In the mean time just vacuum when he is not home
Q:Any advice on the dirtdevil featherlite bagless vacuum?
its light weight and is esasy to move around. the bad thing is that it fills up right away....like me
Q:My vacuum cleaners' brush wont spin when on floor----spins when you take it off the floor, belt is not broken?
If your vacuum's belt is, in effect, a big black rubber band, then D S is absolutely correct, it is the belt. These things seem to be too short when they are being installed, but are made that way purposely so that there's enough friction against the motor pulley and the agitator to turn the brushes after they are in contact with the carpet. Over a period of time, usually, dependent on how much and how often you use the cleaner, the belt stretches out and loses it's tension on the motor pulley. The pulley is much smaller than the agitator and is usually very shiny and smooth, as opposed to the large wooden or plastic agitator. Actually, the belt is the only part on most cleaners that isn't covered by their warranty, because they are considered expendable. Get a couple new belts, install yourself if you're capable, and keep the second on hand for when the new one strectches out.
Q:I have a question about bagless vacuum cleaners....?
I've done the same thing and also own a bagless vacuum without having any problems. I let it sit on the carpet for a short time before running it, but so far no issues! :)
Q:Are Kirby Vacuum Cleaners any good?
Our Kirby has been great. We have pets in the house and its handled that really well. You do need to have it serviced every few years to keep it clean and performing at 100%
Q:What is a good vacuum?
I recently purchased the Dyson Animal. I was shocked at how much dirt that this thing picked up. There are no bags, just a canister that you empty. It is pricey, but you will be impressed on how well it does.
Q:Question about my vacuum?
yes it should spin by hand it sounds like a bearing has seized these may be part of the motor itself and non replaceable good sign of this is any grinding noise when trying to turn the motor, or the motor brushes have worn down or cracked and this can jam the motor
Q:PLEASE HELP! What's the difference in these Tristar Model Vacuum cleaners: DXL DXL compact CXL and the IEC?
IEC stands for Interstate Engineering Corporation. This is the original manufacturer of the Compact and TriStar vacuum cleaners. The Compact began selling the C1 model in 1946 and continued with model updates until 1981 ending with the C9. In 1982, it was rebranded as the TriStar and the model was the CXL. The CXL model sold until the mid 1990 s. After that, the model changed to DXL. These sold until 1998. The biggest differences between the CXL and the DXL are the Turbo Brush carpet cleaning tool and the filtration system. The DXL introduced a new, more practical Filter Fresh sub-micron filtration system. These filters can still be purchased today. The older CXL filters are obsolete and cannot be replaced. The good news is... the DXL Filter Fresh filters are reverse compatible and will work on almost any Compact or TriStar manufactured between 1973 - 1998. The DXL also changed the drive of the Turbo Brush from a flat, smooth belt that slips to a geared belt that shuts off automatically with the help of a computer circuit board that tells the motor to shut off if something gets caught in the brushes. The machine was totally redesigned and was released in 1999. It was called the EXL. The only parts that are interchangeable between the pre and post 1999 models are the wheels and the bags. Although both use the same cyclonic dirt bagging system, the machines themselves are almost totally different.
Q:Diagnose MeVey: What's it called when you're obsessed with nice vacuum cleaners and you forgo getting your?
