6.Package & Transport

Q: turn the heat back on and then heat works fine for a couple days then cuts off again. I have to keep repeating the process. I have replaced thrmostat, circuit board and gas valve. Anu suggestions? Furnace is 9 yeras olds made by Solitare.
There is no diagnostic light on a 9 year old furnace. You either have a high limit problem or a combination fan switch issue or a pressure switch issue. 88 Degrees is way too high if thats the temp your running it on. It will never shut off and just trip the high limits and then they have too cool down to self reset.

you can look on the CAD website and fill out a form requesting a trial version of their latest product. They'll probably call you (so give them a valid phone #) and send you a disk to install it. they expire after 30 days and after that they'll continue to send you advertisements via email and mail!!
Q: what is the reasoning to install a liquid suction heat exchanger on a chiller system?
There are several reason for employing a liquid to suction heat exchanger. For instance, the efficiency of the refrigeration cycle will be partially improved due to increase in sub-cooling. This is especially true for low temperature applicaitons.The evaporator performance (or the temperature approach) will be improved due to partial/complete elimination of super heat.Flashing at expansion valve will be eliminated to additional sub-cooling for systems with low condenser sub-cooling.Due to additional super heat, liquid droplets from the evaporator (if they exist) can be eliminated, thus improving the compressor saftey. However, when relatively large liquid suction heat exchangers are used the volumetric efficiency of the compressor needs to be considered due to lower gas density. Issues with system control exist depending on where the super heat measurement is performed (i.e, before or after the liquid - suction heat exchanger)
Q: my hottub goes thru copper heat exchanger and gets copper resedue in filter,what can I do?
Better in the filter than in the tub. Isn't that what the filter is for? Take it out and hose it off once a month or more often if necessary.
Q: I have a Mitzubishi Galant and when I run my air conditioner, water leaks in on my passenger floor. The leaking substance is not Antifreeze, it is just water. It only leaks in my passenger floor when i run my air conditioner. Could this be the work of a bad heating core or is there something else that could be going on?
That water isn't coming from your heater core but actually dripping off of the evaporator for your air conditioner. If your heater core was going bad that would be coolant instead of just water. Typically though water shouldn't be dripping that much from the evaporator side of the AC system unless it is really humid and the moisture is just condensing the moment it hits the evaporator.
Q: Can i use plate heat exchanger to cool down fermented yogurt (from 43 degree to 10)? I just worry it might block the heat exchanger. Please help. Thank you!
I heat my milk,and I use a bit of cream for mine, get it to blood temperature, take it off the heat, let it sit for 5 minutes then stir in 1 250ml plain Balkan style yougart (Canadian brand), pour into cups, and I have a plastic container, I place the cups in, top with a loose piece of plastic wrap, set this on top of the frig, and allow it to ferment overnight, i the morning I put the cups with there covers in the frig, the yougart culture has to work at a constant temperature to firm.

In my opinion you should be searching for the best installer rather than best equipment. Most of the major brand equipment today is just as reliable as the other. They all have third party parts that you will usually find in one unit to the next. Just make sure you get a unit with a scroll compressor, 410a refrigerant, 10 years warranty on all parts (20 years on heat exchanger), and a GOOD installer/designer. If a system is set up and installed properly then you shouldn't have many problems with your system. If you want an answer for the best heating/ac brand all I can say is that the Rheem heating and cooling products have been ranked number one in fewest repairs in consumer reports.
Q: why the temperatures of water decreases after come out from the heat exchanger?
That is the work of a heat exchanger! The temperature of the water will decrease if the other fluid that is exchanging heat is colder than that of the water. Heat will simply flow from the water, through the tubing to the other fluid whose temperature will increase depending on its heat capacity or phase

I will answer simply by telling you that heat is not a good thing in machinery. It brings the utility of machines down and can even stop or destroy them. In units using magnetism, heat can deminish the magnets force drasticly even erase their magnetism completely. Therfore it is important to cause heat to transfer outside the machinery as much as possible. And try to change the conception of machinery so that it creates a minimum of heat.
Q: cost compare to run infloor heat with a electric boiler to LP gas furance in MN.?
We are in our first winter in a newly built house with infloor heat and we are happy happy happy with the cost of it. I can't compare it to our last house as it was older and smaller with oil heat (which is comparable to gas around here). I can say our house is more than twice the size of the older one, and we are paying less than half than what we were paying in oil. We are in Ontario Canada, so we get cold weather here. Hope this helps a bit..oh..it did take us a bit to regulate where the setting should be, but got it down now! (we also have fan forced air through a heat exchanger too as we have a multi level house).
