- Q: I purchased a upholstered, swivel, rocker from Goodwill. The problem is, it sits too low. I avoid sitting in it because it's a real chore to get out of it! - Try buying a chair cushion. The cushion would make the chair more comfortable. Also it might increase the height of the chair based on the thickness of the cushion. Chair cushions don't cost much if you don't get the really fancy ones. But don't buy one if the chair is really small, because it won't help much. If the chair is too small to heighten with a chair cushion, take the chair to a wood shop or to a place like that. Tell them the details of the chair's base and and legs. Then if should be fixed.
- Q: How much bigger than chairs and how to make a pattern?
- Unscrew the chair bottom and turn upside down on top of your fabric. Lift edge of fabric over chair edge and see how much it takes to be able to staple to the bottom. Cut fabric around chair bottom that much. staple middle of front....pull fabric tight and staple middle of back. Do the same thing on the sides and continue stapleing and pulling fabric. Do the same thing for the seat back.

- 100% cotton is not a great fabric for upholstery, upholstery fabric is much thicker and tested for durability. Cotton will also absorb a lot of dirt dust and is hard to spot clean. Treating it may temporarily make it more durable.
