Q:adhesive tiles, peel stick tiles
Self Adhesive Bathroom Wall Tiles
Q:I'm laying ceramic tile in my bathroom which I've never done. Any suggestions? I was also just thinking that it'd be neat to put the same tile as a shower surround. Would that be difficult? What do I need to do for that?
I would recommend getting a professional tile setter to do the job but I will give you all the help I can if you want to DIY. In the shower you should use tiles that are on a mesh. Reason being a shower in not level. The edges are higher than the drain area so the water can go down the drain. You will need a wet saw, and certain tools to do a tile job. This web site has tools, Side bar with how to etc information, a DIY section that has a how to video, and other free informative information. Hope this helps you, good luck.
Q:All together, which one is more expensive to install and buying the tile or wood? Thanks!!! And if you can, leave site names.
carpet, baileys
Q:I need to take a tile that is on the wall under my bathroom sink cabinet to use it to replace some visible tiles. I know it‘s possible to remove the old damaged tiles, but obviously I don‘t want to damage the ones that I‘m going to use to replace the bad ones.
Possibly easier solution: look for some decorative tiles that would go ok in the place of those damaged ones... just a few to randomly place as accents (of course, this depends on where the broken tiles are). Possibilities include glass tiles, contrast tiles, patterned tiles, and embossed tiles, as well as tiles matching in tone but of a radically different texture. If you want to see how a particular tile might look on the wall in advance, take a digital photo of each tile you're interested in, resize to life size) and tape prints over each tile you want to replace. Yes, you can do as you propose. My experience with removing tiles for re-use are that I seem to get between a 40 and 70% yield of useable tile when I try to salvage 4x4 tiles. Depends on how good the initial mastic was.
Q:I want to use the tiles for a back splash in the kitchen. Is there a reason I have to use the spacers? Why can‘t I put them where they are touching each other? I‘m not using them on a floor. I don‘t like the look of the space between the tiles.
It is partially for support(adherence to the wall) and also your wall 'breathes' and expands(small amounts)during the year. Having more grout between the tiles ensures a better % chance that they stay on the wall and also allows a slight flexiblity(although it doesn't look like it), for small shifting of the wall. The minimum space would be 1/8 for grout joints. It also depends on the size of tile one is using on the backsplash.
Q:Tile 60 * 60 price
More than a dozen dollars out of a cup, there may be cracks in the brick, we have just submitted a few tiles are installed more than 50 pieces, feeling like general, the brightness is not high, the decoration to see the budget, Yuan to hundreds of dollars, you can choose a lot of.
Q:I was wondering if self stick vinyl tile would work well on bathroom walls and if it would stick well to sheet rock or if i have to replace the sheetrock with plywood?
Use green board. It is a sheet rock panel made for bathrooms because it can endure the many extreme changes in temperature and humidity. And I agree that stick-ons may not last very long. Use tiles and get some good guidance on how to do it and what to use. It's not that complicated.
Q:I am installing tile in a bathroom, hall, dinining room, and kitchen, and they all connect. Where should I center the tiles?
By ALL CONNECT, do you mean any visible straight line of any length through more than one room? Certainly in multiple places you'll have to measure, square the areas and snap two perpendicular lines. Obvious choices in measuring will be issues such as how many full pieces will be most visible, in an aesthetic sense, then tranistion, in full pieces where possible in the room connections. Included in the measuring and snapping lines, you should also consider cuts and trying to create same size pieces where possible at opposing walls. You should consider that in 1/4 grout lines you'll add an inch of tile space on the floor for every 1 ft. of tile,,, be it a 12 inch piece, 16 or 18. So you'd have to do the math, deciding to center a middle tile, or spacing for even wall cuts. I often lay out a course or two and check to perhaps shift my center lines, for the cuts.
Q:i just bought this house and my kitchen floor tile is all cracked it was put on a wood serfice. i need a quick fix because redoing the whole kitchen needs doing but is not in my bugit at this time. can i cover it with linoleum with out it also cracking before i can remodle?.
Sure. Lino does not crack(unless you give it 50 years of aging) But the lino on a roll is the best route to go. Not tile squares so much(you can do it that way but it is a bother).
Q:We recently bought a house and the bathroom has tile everywhere (including the ceiling). What is the best, easiest, fastest way to get tile up. The experiences we‘ve had with tile is that it just breaks up in little pieces. Any suggestions?
If it where on drywall, I would take off the drywall - gut down to the studs. If its on plaster, get a wide chisel and hammer away...Sometimes a 6 drywall knife works to srape off tile then you have some drywall repair- skim coating. Hopefully, for your sake, the tile is on drywall - a newer home...
