- Q: How to remove the shoe oil into the tiles
- Use mineral oil, alcohol or acetone wipe. With a clean cream, Yi Jie clean cream, to ensure that can be removed,
- Q: I now want to match the tile and extend it into my living room and dining area. How would I go about finding the same tile?
- Can you contact the company that laid the tile? Do you remember how you picked it out? Catalogue, Store? Even if you find the name, it might not be a perfect match after all this time. I do my own tiling and I always buy extra in case of repairs later. Storing them in the original box gives you the Manufacturer and style #. The tile contractor should have done this as he has no need for any extra tile left over.
- Q: I have a few small pits (about 1/16 in diameter, very shallow into the tile) that have developed in some old ceramic tile in my foyer (it may be from some salt that was tracked into the foyer over the winter). Is there a good way to repair it?
- I would try 'tile and grout sealer. These products are easy to apply and once dried are very hard. Go to your home supply store and look at a few different types and see what would work best for you application. Most people don't understand that tile needs to be sealed and re-sealed every year or two, especially in high traffic areas and where there will be a lot of dirt or water track across them.
- Q: i stay in a moblie home and i would like to lay tile but a lot of ppl are saying not to cause within time the wood under it would give way is that true i dont want to put more carpet cause i have little ones and am tired of shampooing my carpet i have to do it about 4 times a yr and my carpet is a dark green i know but thats what it came with it look nice when it was new but the carpet is 3 yrs old now and not so good looking after so much cleaning .well let me know please
- you should be fine as long as you put down cement board first. all the home centers carry it
- Q: Imloking to buyy subway tile for my bathroom demo. any ideas where I can get it for a discount/
- www.okorder . Go there, go to your city, do a search of subway tile or go to the materials, household, or furniture sections. We are using craigslist to redo our bathroom!! Have fun!
- Q: Which tile is best Porcelain or ceramic for a concrete floor?
- Well porcelain tile -is- ceramic tile. It's just a bit of a different mix and baked differently than the ceramic, so that the color goes through the entire tile and not just at the top. The porcelain is also a more durable tile, so if you plan on dropping heavy things on the floor down there, then that's the one for you. In a basement, both will be pretty cold underfoot too. Just check for moisture issues and that it's properly level first before doing anything, but either way you are good to go :)
- Q: I‘m going to install a porcelain tile floor. My question is when I install a tile up against a cabinet that people can see. Should I but the tile up against the cabinet or should I leave enough space to grout between the tile and the cabinet. Just wondering what the standard practice is , and what looks the best. Also I have a small crack in the concrete, which the tile company said it was so minor that not to worry about it. Although it caused a crack in my old tile that was originally installed. I would really like to prep the crack prior to installing the new tile. What would you recommend doing to prep the crack. Thanks
- Install okorder / As far as looks of tile spacing, stay consistent. If you border uptight against one non-tile stuff, then do so against everything. Use either colored caulking or epoxy grout for corners. Cement based grout isn't flexible and will crack.
- Q: i want to paint my bathroom and the walls and floor are ceramic tile what do i do?
- This Site Might Help You. RE: what kind of paint do you paint ceramic tiles with? i want to paint my bathroom and the walls and floor are ceramic tile what do i do?
- Q: I have kitchen tiles that have long term stains like broth and sauce stains. They won't come out with standard tile cleaner. Should I used bleach or will something else work better?
- I would try bleach first. If the tiles are on a wall vs being flat on a counter try a spray gel cleaner with bleach in it so that it sticks to it and let it sit for a while.
- Q: I was clowning around with my son and I accidentally knocked over a table and chipped a tile. It's about a quarter size chip. You can actually see the dark bottom part of the tile so its kinda deep. I was wondering if I can fix it without replacing it. What do I need? By the way, I blamed on my 4 year old !!!!!!!!! THX 4 ur help!
- First of all, own up to the accident and apologize to your son and your wife! If you are lucky, you may be able to find some grout to match, that you can fill in the hole with. Go to your local tile store and see if they might have a Custom Blend Grout Chart or a ProSpec Grout chart that you can take home and see what color comes closest to the tile. Or you could try either brand in a sanded caulk in a tube. The only other choice is to replace the tile, which generally is hard to match! Or to place a piece of furniture or a rug, over the spot. That may not be best, depending on what part of the floor the spot is at!
