Aluminium is a relatively soft, durable, lightweight, ductile and malleablemetalwith appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surfaceroughness. It is nonmagnetic and does not easily ignite. A fresh film ofaluminium serves as a good reflector (approximately 92%) of visible light and an excellent reflector (asmuch as 98%) of medium and far infrared radiation. The yield strengthof pure aluminium is 7–11 MPa, while aluminium alloys have yield strengths ranging from200 MPa to 600 MPa. Aluminium has about one-third the density and stiffness of steel. It is easily machined, cast, drawn and extruded.

Aluminium alloys (or aluminum alloys; see spellingdifferences) are alloysin which aluminium(Al) is the predominant metal. The typical alloying elements are copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon, tin and zinc. There are twoprincipal classifications, namely casting alloys and wrought alloys, both of which are furthersubdivided into the categories heat-treatableand non-heat-treatable. About 85% of aluminium is used for wrought products, for example rolled plate, foils and extrusions.Cast aluminium alloys yield cost-effective products due to the low meltingpoint, although they generally have lower tensile strengthsthan wrought alloys. The most important cast aluminium alloy system is Al–Si,where the high levels of silicon (4.0–13%) contribute to give good castingcharacteristics. Aluminium alloys are widely used in engineering structures andcomponents where light weight or corrosion resistance is required

Q:I used this cookie recipe for a long time and I made it with oil not butter and I used baking powder and it worked really well in the past I'm using an aluminum baking sheet with aluminum foil on top to prevent sticking cuz I don't have parchment paper available and it worked really well for me but then suddenly my cookies turned out burnt on the bottom but raw on the center and this happened when I experimented with different doughs and now even my dough that worked well for me now has the same problem and I don't know what's wrong with it
Cooking temp is too high You're going to want to check your oven to make sure that the temp you set it for is the temp you're cooking atMine is 50 degrees highThat means that when I'm setting for 325, I'm actually cooking at 375I have to adjust down If your temp is spot on, then the recipe might be wrongSet for 50 degrees cooler than the recipe calls for and check it at the normal timeOdds are it'll still be wrong but you can check it and give it another 5 minutes and check againRepeat until done.
Q:All Clad Slow cooker-What is the difference between the regular one (white) and the deluxe (black) model?
A few companies have switched to hemp because the fibers are much stronger and you don't get the wastes you get from cotton and many other factorsWatch the video, hemp revolution(Available from netflicks, can play it from your xbox console too instantly without dvd if got memberships.)
Q:Finding the mass of a volatile liquid?
Unit not generating cold-enough air? Check the temp at the vents.
Q:I bought it new with all options(almost)It has navigation, tiptronic, Metallic black with red full leather inter., full aluminum package, aerokit, more.I paid 79K.I drove it 3 years ,has 42k miles , excellent condition (like new) kelly's book give it 39K valueIt's even still has the new smell on it Porsche could go way over 150k miles without any problem. Why is Kelly's book give low price ?
Kelley Blue Book always gives the high and low prices (if you are doing it right) and it also depends on if you did it for a private party or dealer valueYou car has a little bit of high mileage (I know KBB says 45,000 is average on a 3 year old car, but a good mileage would be about 36,000)NEVER ever ever pay what the dealer wants you tooEven if it is a brand new Porsche!! Next time, you should try buying a cheaper carSometimes it's not all about name dropping, I have a Porsche dude!! But it's about the true power of the carI bet my $20k neon would beat your $80k Porsche!! And unless you truly buy a one of a kind car, that car is destined to depreciateA LOTThat's what has happened in your caseCount your losses and move on with lifeGood luck to ya!!
Q:I have fiskers guillotine paper trimmer and I want to know how I can sharpen it I tried wax paper and aluminum with no luck.
well that depends on where you live in californiaThe brown insulation is most likely cellulose type insulationhow deep is it in your attic?wher i live it should be at least 12inches thick yes you can roll new insulation over it without taking the old out just use unfaced battsthis means rolled fiberglass insulation over the top with no paper facing on it and be sure to wear a face respirator and safety goggles
Q:I'm trying to shape it to make a part.
A crane may be your solution! Some cranes can hold more than 15metric tons of loadSo you may need to get a few of these to suppor your 50 ton hovering townThe tricky part would be identifying the critical load points to equally distribute this loadAnd of course an even plane, maybe fiber glass or a light rigid material, kevlar? where the hovering town could 'sit'You can call that your foundation.
Q:I'm always hungry when I get home from schoolInstead of eating chips cookies, I want to learn how to make some healthy afternoon snacks that aren't too full before dinnerAny ideas? Thanks!
It may be possible to re-shape it if you first leave it to soak in a VERY strong solution of fabric conditioner for a while, then gently stretch it on a flat surface to keep the edges square.
Q:I was wondering if it would be safe to bake it inside of a silicone panWould it be safe for the pan or would it ruin itWould the clay come out of the pan ok? Any other tips that would help please?
Diane B did an excellent job of answering your questionI have only one thing to addeHow is one of the best go to websites for anything craft, so is a great place to start when looking for projects I hope you have lots of fun with your project.
Q:I live in Texas and the weather just changed to a dry cold and whenever I touch a door knob, the screws on a light switch, or the cat I get an electric shockWhen I flip the light switch on or off my hand usually hits one of the screws on the plateI love shocking the cat though lolIt's not my clothes, or dragging feet on the carpet, or not wetting my hair or shoes or anything like thatIt's the dry cold weatherI started this when the weather got this way pretty much immediatelyIt's just annoyingI feel the charge build up even when I put on my jacket or take it offI shock myself the worst off of my car doorI'll try the anti-static dryer sheets, but any other ideas?
I agree with the humidity fix ideaHowever, it's pretty hard to add humidity if its outdoor zapping you want to avoidThat said, use your car key as a convenient hand held dissipation tool so it's the first thing to touch the door when getting in or outExiting the vehicle generally promotes a greater zapFar more drama should you be wearing polyesterWith plastics, you accumulate buckets of electrons sliding across that seat on the waywith an abrupt dissipation on touching the first conductive thing in non-charged state; (California or Texas!) Try aluminum foil on the outside of your mittens or glovesYou will appear odd but, the arc will strike at the foil, not your pinky WARNING, do NOT let the cat be the first to read the last tip or it's payback time for youJon
Q:notice I said if I want to do it MYSELFPlease don't tell me what companies can do it for me!
Well, we could use some more information Is this just a one time thing? Or are you going into production? What kind of metal? What shape is the metal? (Is it flat sheets, or curved surfaces, etc?) Is the metal small enough to be handled, is it mounted on anything? And thenwhat are you going to do with the image ? Is this a pattern you want to transfer to the metal? or is the image itself the finished product (like a photo)? Ok, lets assume you want to transfer an image to metal for the purpose of doing something to the metal itself, like etching or scribing it.maybe even cutting it to create silhouhettes, etcLet's seethere is the common overhead projector, an arts/crafts projector (this type is placed OVER the original, and projects it up on a wall, or screen), etcTracing paper, copier, etcTrace the pattern you want onto tracing paper, or photocopy the pattern, and tape it to the metalYou can even use paper that has a sticky backing on it.a lot of wood carvers use this type of paper to transfer their images onto the wood blank, for exampleI asked about whether this was a one time deal, or productionI know you can purchase a printer that will put your image right onto the metal, just like a typical desk printer uses paperBut these are a bit expensive, heheheOhthere is always lamination tooprint the image onto some kind of stock (paper or transparencies), and then laminate it onto the metalIt would help, if we had more of an idea of what your intentions were here.remember, more details will result in better answers, heheheHave Fun
