- depends on what light bulbs you have in watts.depends on how many you want on. for the power equation you take P which equals watts x I which equals amps and E which equals volts and you multiply the amps and the volts together to get the watts which the solar panel is generating. for example if you had 7 60 watt light bulbs you would need 420 watts generated. which if you got 50 watt panels each you would need 9 panels. and for what your talking about if you want the stuff to work when the power goes out you are going to need an inverter. not to be confused with a grid ti inverter. and a few batteries i recommend deep cycle batteries that are meant for solar panels. depends on what fan you have.

You do need to make some changes to how you use energy. Get them for the right reasons, and at some point you can unplug your house from the gtid. - The solar rating of your area is Good so I wouldnt see the reason not to use it. In my area solar rating is very good I get all evergy from it plus even selling it. My payback time was very quick but... If you are not in a hurry or cant afford to spend a lot, wait till end of the next year when the new flexible panels are coming to the market. They are suppose to be a lot cheaper, enviromental friendly more effective than the ones on the market now. Check out MY Estimator. I think for USA users its the best help on the net. You'll see your costs, tax incentives can get info about local PRO's aswell. Often people are shy to ask quotes but solar is overpriced at the moment so spend your time finding the best deals. Also check where panels are made, their efficency; warranty is usually 20 to 25years. Surf the net- OKorder, OKorder then check companies who sell solar panels. - yes it is being done. i've seen adds for such a system. on the other hand, if you had a 5 sq in Lens focused on a small cell, and a 5 sq in cell, they'd be about the same. in fact, the cell might be a bit better because (A) there wouldn't be any loss in the Lens, and (B) it might be that the solar cell would use some frequencies to which the Lens was opaque. in addition, the cost of solar cells is dropping, making the cost of the mirrors or lenses uneconomical by comparison.

What is the voltage that the solar panels give when the motor is not connected? what is the voltage when the motor is connected? If the motor resistance is too low, then the solar panels will not be able to supply enough current to run the motor and the voltage with the motor attached will be very low. It might take a bright light on the solar panels or direct sunlight.

The average home requires 4000 watts MINIMUM. This would require MANY, LARGER panels, charge controller, a battery stack, and at least LARGER inverter (preferably 2, 2000 watt inverters, unless you want to REALLY get expensive!)
