Q:if I buy a new 4 pronged power cable how should i install in the dryer, what should i do with the extra 4th wire of the cable, pls help Thanks
There should be an instruction paper with the plug you buy, as to what should I do with the extra wire or go to Home Depot and ask them. You'd better make sure you know what your doing before you plug it in, maybe get someone over that knows? or, an electrician.
Q:What is the role of the power cable shield?
General cable shelf life is 10 years, look at the jacket and the insulation with or without cracks, shake the insulation resistance of the general do not breakdown can be used, but the best people to do some pressure test. The withstand voltage test must have been used.
Q:I just bought a new computer, a DELL Inspiron 530. It has none of the older 4-pin power cables from the power supply; only the newer SATA power devices. I have an older hard drive, that connects via IDE cables (the gray ribbon). Ive already bought the card that converts the IDE to SATA, and it is connected to the mother board. Here is the problem: the IDE Hard Drive is powered with the 4-pin power supply that Ive seen on EVERY power supply before this one. The IDE to SATA converter came with an extension for that 4-pin power supply. But the power supply in the tower DOESNT HAVE ANY 4-PIN POWER ADAPTERS. It has one free SATA power. Im looking to take the SATA power from my power supply, convert it to the old-style IDE 4-pin power supply (female) and plug it into the 4-pin extension (male) that powers my hard drive and SATA-IDE converter. Most converters go the other way... Please post links with examples of parts, since I cannot find anything that lets me do what I am looking to
I am afraid you are a victim of the penny pinching that companies like Dell need to do to make the machines at the price you want to pay for them. I would always recommend buying from a proper store (bricks and mortar) and taking a good look inside before parting with your cash. There are plenty of suppliers out there who will build a PC for you and look after you.
Q:I'm building a new computer and i have a SATA 6.0 HDD picked out but the PSU says it has SATA power cables, i was just wondering if the power connectors were the same across the board from SATA 3.0 to the new SATA 6.0.
same interface cable, and same power source cable. YOu just have to make sure the motherboard has a 6.0 gbs slot. I just built a PC with one of these. Not a HUGE improvement, but startup is a few seconds faster.
Q:This morning my cable modem seems to be malfunctioning...it's a Motorola SURFboard and it has a column of lights on the front (labeled Power, Receive, Send, Online, Activity, and Standby accordingly) that are all supposed to be lit up (except Standby) when I'm online. Well some of the lights keep going on and off--namely the quot;receivequot;, quot;sendquot;, and quot;onlinelights. In addition, my internet is operating very slowly and/or not at all; sometimes I get the quot;page cannot be displayedmessage when I try to navigate to another page; sometimes it goes thru ok but loads at snail's pace. Does this mean there's a problem with my computer or modem, or is it just that the internet is down in my area?
Turn off your computer. Unplug the power cable from your cable modem and wait 4 minutes. Plug the power cable back into the cable modem. Turn on your computer. Check to see if the problem is solved. If not... call your ISP and explain what you just did to them. If power cycling the modem didn't reset the connection, it could be that your cable service is having problems in your area or that your cable modem is bad.
Q:can i use the dynex ac power cable for a sharp aquos 32 in LC-32D47UT or if i cant can someone give me a link?
A power cable is a power cable. they are all essentially the same. If it fits, use it.
Q:I'm trying to find out whether a laptop computer can be powered by an adapter via USB cable. Is it possible? Feasible? Available? Thanks!
Good question, however I don't think there is a way at this time. I am a Computer Engineer and coming from an electrical point of view it would be very difficult for the USB cable to send enough power to the battery to be able to charge it significantly. You have to understand that the laptop battery is very large and has to be significantly more powerful than a battery like say the iPod that can be charged via USB. Power consumption and load means the world to batteries. A load like a laptop would use on a USB cable would fry the cable in my opinion. Take care, Chad
Q:Hey y'all , so I got this LG X120 Netbook thing and although it works fine when power supply cable is connected, it won't play just by getting supply from its own battery..also i tried starting it up with the power cable on, and after a few moments I unplugged it, and the screen went black-I mean the netbook was turned off by itself..any help with that? thanks
It sounds like the problem is one of three things. Either the power cable is the wrong voltage/amperage (these should be labeled on both the charger and the bottom of the laptop and/or battery) If the charger specs don't match the battery specs, it can cause this to happen. Maybe there was a mess-up that caused your to receive the wrong charger. The second possibility is that the battery is bad. A third possibility may be the connection from the battery to the laptop. It may not be making a good connection or could have some internal circuit problems. In any case, if the laptop is still under warranty... I would try returning it. Even if the problem can be fixed from the above suggestions, a problem like this early on tends to be bad news of what lies ahead.
Q:I removed the seats to my 2002 Dodge Intrepid SE and noticed that there was a small cable sticking out from the carpet underneath the seats. Since I have the SE model my car didn't come with the power seats. My question is are those cables there to attach the power seats?
Yes, all wire harnesses are made to serve the power needs of all possible options rather than building different harnesses for each individual car.
Q:If you look at a power line it is hanging down in the middle why is that
