Q: This is a self built computer. When using it in a different room, it functioned normally. However, now that I've moved it to a new room, it would constantly reboot or just loses power entirely. With the latter, I would have to remove the power cable and hold the on button for a while before I could turn it back on. Also, when I shut it down, the computer would reboot by itself instead.: Hi There, I would suggest shutting it down, unplugging the power and holding the power button on for a few seconds to discharge any remaining power. Next open the side cover and check all the cables to make sure none have worked loose while moving to the next room. Q: I recently switched to cable tv ,internet telephone. i now have 2 tv converter boxes + modem box(?) on 24/7. i did not have that equipment before.my electric use is up 1.5 kw a day vs last year since the change. at first i blamed it on a warmer summer. but the last few weeks have been mild and the new bill today is still higher.did changing and the new equipment cause the extra electric use ?: look at the back of each device. it will show you a current rating and usage, exmple 45 watts. Add em up Whats strange is that they draw power even when turned off.some even more when off. use a power strip with an on off switch so you can turn them all off when not in use. Turn them all on watch your electric meter spin. Unplug them and watch it spin. The difference is your savings.

Q: all of my wiring seems okay and everything seems to work except for my amp power. I have the blue cord on the harness wired into the blue/white cord in my kenwood because i tried going blue to blue and it didnt work. Q: why power cables are to be earthed at both ends?: Its called the M.E.N. system. It stands for Multiple Earth Neutral. The neutral of an appliance acts as a return, held at a low potential by earthing at each house, using rods into the ground, transformers in the street with earths, and earth mats where required when soils are not conductive. This is a very good document that covers both static (insulation hipot testing) and TDR fault location methods.

Q: The power input looks just like the back of any desktop pc, so im assuming it will work, but do i need to know anything before buying one?: Sure you can, as long as it doesn't any above normal resistance mating up. Only problem I foresee is if a pc power cable is heavy enough to handle the load.

Q: Like I lost my power cable, so can I get one somewhere?: most amps use the same cable, so it shouldn't be a problem, through your amp in a car, (to double check) and check the local music stores, electronics shops, or Radio shacks
