Q:i dont think that the water pump is out. i have a 88 evinrude outboard and the other day i noticed that the water was barley trickling out the hose. then it just stopped coming out the hose. it still comes out of the exhaust just fine. the motor is not get hot. is it ok if it still comes out the exhaust/ i will attemp to run a wire up in the hose to see if it is clogged later today. what do yous think

Change the the timing belt if it breaks you can bend a valve the smaller import engine have what they call a zero (0) tolerance.For the water pump it runs off of the timing belt so since your timing belt is already off you should change the water pump.Another words you will need to tear the timing belt back out in order to change the water pump not if but when it goes out.The dealer price is not bad for a dealer you might be able to save a little more if you shop around GOOD LUCK

Preferably one I could find at a chain store locally. Can anyone recommend a good one? Also, is there anything I should know before I take my camper to a rv hook up site? I have a pressure regulator that will twist on my spicket on the outside of my camper. Do I need any other kind of regulator, or hose, besides my pump before I go hook up?Can I hookup without a pump? If you are connected to a campsite water supply you do not need a pump. The pump is only required to deliver water from the fresh water tank of your camper to the faucets and if equipped toilet of your camper when you are not connected to City water, ya I know I have probably been connected to an actual City water supply 4 days in over 10 years of trailer camping... but any campground water supply is referred to as a city supply in the trailer literature. The only accessory I recommend to have is a combination filter which will stop both sediment ( very common in campground water lines ) and secondary charcoal filter which will reduce both taste and chemical intrusions on your system / palate. Would I buy a basic system demand pump? Yes, but if the cost of the pump stands between your camping season and your camping plans for the season, cancel the pump and camp!

Like a loose bearing feel, etc? you can check for pulley noise, pulley wobble and coolant condition as a precursor to it's failure, but even if it passes that inspection, it may fail in 1000 miles (example). that's the nature of consumable components. ------ since it costs 300-400 in labor to do those individually, it behooves one to put them both on the same maint schedule. replace both at same time. needed or not. every 90,000 miles. and this is a non interference type engine. no engine damage will occur as a result of belt failure alone. FYI, since it's not an interference engine, if this be an autotrans, you could go longer between belt changes as autotrans have smoother torque apps. purdy much constant torque. my V6 has over 200,000 miles on the belt. water pump too. and i have pristine coolant and no pulley noise. and i'm pushing my luck. i run the risk of a towing bill.

Hot water recirculation for domestic hot water is not so much for efficiency as for instant hot water. It does waste less water, but the hot water pipes should be insulated to minimize heat losses. I would not recirculate hot water into the cold water lines. Lukewarm water is yucky to drink and could be unsafe.
