Q:My water pump circuit breaker keeps tripping?
If it works on one circuit but not another, why don't you just leave it where it works ? You didn't say what size the breaker is, or if there's something else on the same circuit. Maybe the pump plus one other item on that circuit are together enough to trip the breaker. Is it possible to give it it's own dedicated breaker at a bigger current, say 15 or 20 amps ? There's nothing wrong with being generous with your breaker size, it's not uncommon for breakers to trip if there's a constant current which is near, but under the rated current. It will still trip the breaker if there's a short.
Q:How long will a bad water pump last?
If the water pump is being described as quite loose then typically the bearing would be going out and the water pump very well could go at any time, the severity of possible damage if that happens and it overheats is ridiculous. Don't risk it. If it was a drip from the weep hole in the water pump then you could ignore it for a bit or a gasket leak for as long as you needed but if it's loose as your mechanic suggests the pulley/shaft can go without warning.
Q:My fish tank pump is deep enough, it doesn't bubble up. Without oxygen supply, but it can filter. Does it damage the pump itself?
First tell you the pump not bad, just can't carry oxygen rinse, now he is equivalent to a 2 in a filter of the submersible pump, without any damage to the pump itself, three in one pump is actually in the 2 water outlet and air pipe, pressure by fluid flow is the principle of position the smaller the air drag, now a large pressure, oxygen loss of function, but the pump itself, his work without any change, so do not burn, rest assured it
Q:Why does a car water pump fail?
if the radiator is clogged up, the water pump cant circulate the water.
Q:How does water pumping work?
Usually they look for an underwater spring or reservoir, then they drill or dig into it. From there, they either instal a pump or use it as a well. As for how it works, refer to water pressure.
Q:water pump leaking antifreeze?
So what is your question? If you know the problem, either replace it yourself (which I would NOT recommend), or take it to a mechanic, to have it replaced. On this particular vehicle, it's a major undertaking, since the water pump is driven by the timing chain, if I recall correctly. To access it requires removing the engine mount, and front timing chain cover. Installation requires having the engine re-timed. Although I'm not familiar with GM products, as a rule of thumb, engines that use a timing chain, are usually an INTERFERENCE engine (which means piston/valve damage WILL result, if mistimed). The labour time guides lists 8 hours for this repair on this particular vehicle, with this particular engine. That should tell something, since water pumps are usually listed for about 2 to 3 hours labour on most vehicles. Hope this helps.
Q:can a burnt water pump be fxed?
Jennifer said it so rated her, it's called air spin and she told you the rest
Q:Hit and Miss Engine Water Pump?
A horse and a half won't do much. You would be better off with a hydraulic ram type pump if you can get about a 10 or 15 foot fall before the ram. It will pump about 4 or 5 times the height of the fall, but in small quantities. It will run 24/7 without gasoline, so it will fill a tank over a long period of time. The railroads used them during the steam era when they had huge water towers out on the plains.
Q:Is it ok to drive a car with a bad water pump?
You will blow your head gasket. The water pump is designed to keep your engine cool by pumping water thru channels in your engine block and without it it will not take long for your engine to overheat. You run the risk of completely destroying your motor. Water pumps are a farely inexpensive part 60-150 bucks and are pretty easy to replace in about 1 hour. as long as your not driving a BMW or something like that.
Q:Is there a diagram that shows which bolts go where on a 2001 dodge dakota 3.9L V6 engine for the water pump?
check for leaks in the system, the water pump may show signs of leaks or perhap even make a noise, flush out the radiator, it may be stopped up preventing good circulation, make sure thermostat is installed properly, if there is no signs of leaking,or no noise such a a bad bearing, or water pump not loose when you try to shake it, most likely I would change out the heater core.. and also replace the radiator cap so the system is properly pressurized.
