Q:Got pump ready and will not pump water. Have tried all things suggested to prime but will not pump water
You prime the gas with gasoline and the water pump is primed with water. The water pump needs a stop valve in the intake so you can add water and it will not run out. Once the impeller is full and the pump is running it should pump OK.
Q:My well is 58 meters deep, the water level is 20 meters, the water level has not been measured. What's the maximum water pump I should choose?
First, determine the size of the electrical well and then the depth. Is it water injection or pumping? The pressure of water injection pump is much higher. If you pump water, it depends on how much water you need every hour Plus you enter the water depth of +10 meters, you can basically a good selection.
Q:A water pump that consume 2kW of electric power when operating is claimedto take in water from a lake and pump it to a pool whose free surface is 30 m above the free surface of the lake at a rate of 50 L/s. Determine if this claim is reasonable. You have to show the minimum power required is 14.7 kWand i can't get it.
A liter of water mas a mass of 1Kg. How much work must be done to raise 50 Kg of water through a height of 30 m? You can say: Work done (W) = potential energy gained (mgh), Or you can say that Work done is the weight force (mg) * the distance moved against the force (h) Either way, W = m * g * h where m is the mass; g is the acceleration due to gravity {9.8 m/s?}; h is the height W = 50 * 9.8 * 30 = 14700 J If you need to do that amount of work in one second, that's a rate of working of 14700 J/s A joule/second is a watt. Minimum power required = 14700 W = 14.7 kW
Q:This is what it is doing- the actual pump that is in its own little shed CLICKS all of the time water is being ran, even a small amount of water. The water pressure goes to a slow trickle and eventually stops completely. After about 20-30 minutes I go back and check the spickets and the water is fine, but quickly repeats this same cycle. We just installed this pump about 3 weeks ago. It was doing fine until last week. Does it need to be primed or pressure switch settings increased or decreased? Or am I talking totally out of my head?!
Might be air in the water lines. Be careful and don't allow the pump to run very long when it isn't pumping any water or you will be buying another pump. It sounds like it is loosing it's prime as it builds up enough to send water to the faucets and then looses it's prime and then has to wait until it builds up enough to start over again. You may need to call someone out and have them run down the problem before you burn up your new pump.
Q:I have a refrigerator that has the built in water dispenser and ice maker but it is in a location that does not have a water source, i would like to set up water tank to pump into the fridge but not sure what type of pump or system is needed to accomplish this i know the fridge does not have one built in, it needs the line pressure to circulate the water.any help would be great, thank you
Of course this can be done, not cheaply but, it can be done. Your going to have to by an X-tol tank about one gallon then a small pump, one that can handle the amount of pressure you'll need. Then, all that's necessary is the lines to the fridge.
Q:I have a 1997 mercedes 320e and it is leaking very bad. I need a temporary fix for the water pump, so that I can take it to the repair shop that is 10 min. away.
i don think you can do nething that will fix it temp...i would load your raidator up with coolant and put the heat on max to take the heat away from the engine put ur hazzards on and drive no more than 20mph...or have some 1 tie a thing tow rope arounf the front of the frame and have them pull you
Q:I have a Honda Accord, and last week I replaced the Radiotor, due to a leak. This week the Water pump broke, it was making a ver loud noise and major leak, when I opened the rad, basically all the fluid was drained.Do you think the two are related? or do you think when the Rad was replaced it was not done properly which caused the water pump to break? Thanks.
Tough question but lemme give it a shot. The radiator would probably not have cause the water pump issue unless there was a very large obstruction that took out the impeller of the pump. If that were the case then it would have been possibly related. Otherwise, I would not suspect that. The radiator leak fix might have suddenly ensured that there was enough water in the system to keep the water line above the pump. If you ran the system dry, the pump could have given out due to running dry. To really answer the question, you might need to know how the pump failed. Tough one though. I am trying to think exactly how other than mentioned above, the repair could have taken out your water pump and I am stumped. When I have had issues with cooling and have abused the system by overheating, I have had to replace multiple components in the past. Simply due to heat abuse; never good on an engine or components.
Q:I am trying to change my daughters 2004 Grande Am water pump because people tell me it is squealing. We purchased a replacement pump and blue gasket glue. I know to remove the Serpentine belt (not sure which pulley to reduce tension on) then I need to know which bolts to un-tighten, won't the pump turn as a use the wrench? Is there a good video available on changing out the water pump? I've done maybe 5 water pumps in my lifetime all on V-8s with rear wheel drive, so they had easy access. Does anyone know the steps of removal or can someone point to a video of removal replacement?
better make sure it,s not the belt squealing and not the pump. usually when a water pump goes out they will leak. i would be checking the belt first.
Q:I was wondering if there was a device that can pump and cool water. What I am looking for is essentially an aquarium pump that cools the water as it circulates.
What I do for chilling wort involves a copper tubing heat exchanger. I have (right now in fact) a coil of copper tubing immersed in my hot liquid and I pump cool water through the tubing. It would work just as well with a pot of salted ice water and your hot liquid being pushed through the copper tubing. The copper tubing is the semiflexible coils you can get at a home store for $20ish. You'd salt the ice for maximum cooling but start the pump before submersing the coils to keep your water from freezing in the pipe.
Q:My mechanic doesn't get back in town until next week, and I'm struggling without my car. I don't really have any other options mechanic wise and I'm not dropping $1000 like meineke wants. How easy is it to follow the Haynes repair manuals or any other repair manuals? I have a 1996 dodge avenger and I need to replace my water pump. I know it's a time consuming task, but is it especially hard to replace it?
If you don't have any experience working on cars aside from changing oil my suggestion is to take it in and get it done. You need to drain the coolant, loosen the belt, and then try and torque off those bolts that are prolly sticky on the water pump. And if the water has eaten through the gasket you may need to get the engine block redone where the water pump rests. Oh but don't go to Meineke yuck, you might as well pull your pants down at your own house and sit on a plunger handle; at least it is free and will probably be less painful.
