Q:I have a 2005 Impala and it has been acting funny. Some morning the heat takes about 20 minutes to start working. The air conditoner has not came on once. The gage also takes awhile to start working and when it does it goes pass the halfway mark.I even notice when im sitting at a red light, i can feel the engine shaking a little. I have a appt to get it check and put on the machine tomorrow. I just want to go there with an idea of what the problem could be. Could this be a thermostat or water pump problem???? Help?
Sounds like the thermostat is sticking,
Q:do you trust the bran?
Point blank, ask the folks at Auto Zone where this water-pump was produced. If it was re-manufactured off-shore leave it on their shelves. I trust you knew these Duralast water-pumps are re-manufactured. All AC-Delco starters, alternators and water-pumps are re-manufactured in the USA. Every part inside the reused housings are factory brand new with parts made here in the US.
Q:does anyone know how to remove the water pump on an 84 corvette its killing me
The easiest way is from underneath the car . Loosen the nuts on the pulley first then remove the belt and the rest should be easy from there .
Q:for a school project, i need to boil cold water using a vacuum pump. I did some research, but i still didn't find what i needed. I need to know what kind of pump i need for this, and where i can get one for cheap, since i will only use it for this project. if you know how to actually use it, you can throw that in as well. thanks!
If you have a compressor you can connect to the inlet which draws a vacuum, remember to open the outlet side. You can use a hand pump by connecting to inlet side.
Q:guys i have a mini-water pump.....i wanna pump kerosene instead of water,to make a mini stove,on my own..my doubt is ...if the water pump is used to pump kerosene, will the kerosene ignite inside the pump itself or will cause any problem..i just want the pump to pump kerosene....will it ignite inside of the pump, because the pump runs on electricity....can u clear my doubt
Is the motor of the pump built-in so that the pumped fluid flows through the motor also? If the answer to the question is yes then do not use the pump for pumping kerosene. However, if the pumped liquid does not come in contact with motor then you can use the pump for pumping kerosene. But ensure that the pump shaft seal is of mechanical type (so that kerosene does not leak from the shaft sealing area) with parts (specially any rubber parts) compatible with hydrocarbons (use viton rubber parts instead of EPDM)
Q:What is a variable frequency water pump? What's the difference between a variable frequency pump and an ordinary pump?
Variable frequency water pump refers to the motor, variable frequency pump should be driven by variable frequency motor pumpFrequency conversion, that is, adjustable frequency, frequency conversion motor is able to adjust the speed, adjust the flow, to achieve the purpose of energy saving, but also start small current, maintenance advantages of small workload
Q:i own a 02 gti 337 i bought back in 04 the water is leaking bad and im pretty sure the water pump has gone bad on it i had it replaced awhile back but the check engine came on it isnt this time so i think its just a leak from the seal my question is where is the water pump located is it on the timing belt or is it on a seperate pulley i dont wanna mess with the timing belt and i dont have the money to get this replaced so any help would be great thanks
The okorder a very reputable VW parts supplieror or call for a free parts catalog(248)373-2300 they will give good advice on issues you may be having With your VW
Q:I've searched the net but cannot find exactly what I'm looking for and hoping someone out there can steer me in the right direction! Maybe I'm not looking in the right place....or do I have to fabricate my own? I'm up for the challenge!1) Trying to source a water pump that I'm going to power by HAND or a BICYCLE. 2) My choice of pump to give a continuous stream of water (very important) is a rotary (centrifugal) type or is there something else capable of a continuous output?3) This will NOT BE USED for potable water. SPECS:a) lightweight but durable, the smaller, the better. b) low RPM, high volume output and capable of producing/handling pressure. c) self-primingd) able to handle some small particulates in the water as I am using rain water. (from outside, NOT filtered, so the following may be present: bugs, dust, etc...) Thank you, in advance, for your help and would be nice to thank the individual(s) for a unique answer to my request at a later date so let me know you're preferred method of contact!
There are very small rotary water pumps designed to be driven with hand-held electric drills. These pumps may be purchased in some hardware stores or farm supply stores. One could be adapted to a bicycle- type drive. Small pumps have about a 50% efficiency so you would need to produce sustained muscle power applied at around 150-200 watts to achieve 75 -100 watts of effective hydraulics. Applied watts = (GPM) (PSI) / 1.277 million (eff.) Where eff. is as a decimal. Edit : A 3/8 drill will pull about 280 watts. I can do 200 watts on an exercise bike, but not for long. I am a 79 heart patient, so you can probably do better..
Q:have a leak and want to replace the pumphave tools, any thing I should know before getting started?I intend to:drain from lower hose of radiatortake of fan ( using a 1 1/2 wrench method)do I need to remove shroud first???remove fan, remove serpentine belt then remove water pump , use a little brake cleaner to clean new pump gasket area and existing engine area, put a little gasket sealer on gasket and replace pump.put everything back on, and refill with prestone Green coolant.its what is in there now and it says dextrol only but is that necessary?, most people in the know I ask say it does not matter...hows that sound?
Sounds like your ready to work, it should only take about an hour. Yes take the fan shroud off first (just the top part), you should get a piece of card board and put against the radaitor to keep from damaging it when you take tha fan off. You can use Prestone, Dextrol is just GMs name brand.
Q:I have an ls vtec set up on my 89 EF si, I want to install a better oil and water pump. I m thinking of going with GSR. BUt my question is are all years gsr oil, water pump the same? I think my ls Block is from 93-95 acura. which year gsr water oil pump can I use for my motor?. also I have a 2000 si head. do I have to change the timing belt? and Last question is should I use b16, gsr type r pumps? I heard gsr and type r have the same part #. Thanks
