- use 'hot' pvc glue hot cement is not actually fire hot, but it reacts with the pipe and melts the pipe together so although it won't be water proof it should stay together if you glue and hold em together long enough for it to dry. Why not just get the right fittings so they secure properly? They have fittings for anything you want to do.
- Q:We have a fire and CO detector that I removed from the ceiling to paint it.After I removed it I saw in tiny print to shut it off before removing. - i would bet that you have asthma. it may only happen on rare occasions i would lay money that not having the reaction when you switched to glass was merely a coincidence. if i were you i would go to your doctor and tell him about the reaction (leave out what you were doing at the time) but let him know that its a reaction that you have sometimes but very rarely and get an inhaler for those emergency situations. also to ther person who chose to answer a question that they obviously know nothing about, none of those methods of smoking require anyone to burn plastic and if you are burning plastic you are doing it wrong.

Any tables you see that give flow reduction rates for various pipe fittings are for liquid service. Give the inspector a call and just inquire about what tables and standards are used in your area. Because it’s a school your installation may also require schedule 80 pipe, which will need to be color coded and labeled with flow direction arrows as well. It’s worth doing your homework before you start a job like you have there, because you don’t want to have to go back and re-do things later.
