Q:Im buying a house the main bathroom has ugly blue tile on walls can I paint those tiles a different color?
You okorder.com
Q:What is the best way for me to lay a tile floor on a concrete subfloor with vinyl tiles?
Go to a Tile Store. They now have Ceramic Tile which can be put on top of other flooring as long as the floor is level. Some of these Tiles can be snapped together. No Mud, no Grout. They look wonderful.
Q:Can I stain a Ceramic tile floor?????
No you cannot paint it. 2 options. 1 tear it up and replace it with whatever you think needs no maintenance(concrete ). or 2 , try washing the floor with T.S.P. , then rinse it and seal the tiles with a quality sealer. You still have to wash the floor at least once a week . But it will all ways look as good as you want.
Q:why is my ceramic tile coming up?
Many possible reasons why.. To little adhesive used ( usually a thin set not a grout) .Thin set to dry. Thin set to wet. Under supported tile such as incorrect under layment.Under layment installed incorrect. Incorrect adhesive for the job. Thin set skimmed over during setting and didn t bond to the tile. Installer didn t press and twist the tile into the thin set correctly. Some one walked on the tile to soon after setting and the bond is broke between the thin set and the tile. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there.
Q:grout haze on glass tile?
Re washing grout haze will only keep bringing it back. Try 1 st buffing with a clean , dry terri cloth towel .. If this doesn t do it,step 2 is to get a white nylon doodle bug pad. Buff these dry w/o water.. We also call then scratch pads ( they won t scratch tile).. Step 3 if this doesn t work is to get a grout haze and efforvesant remover. About $5 an 8 oz bottle, sold almost any place tile is sold. This you can do according to directions, that is mix w/ water this time..Don t use any lime away or any thing caustic...Any other questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there GL
Q:why my tiles don't stick to the floor?
First off, PVA glue is a BIG NO NO! it is a craft glue and should never be used for installing any kind of tile unless its in a doll house! The glue will not stick to the tiles and will come up soon after you walk on them!!! Stick your finger in that glue and wait for it to dry, You will be able to peel it off and almost have the same shape of your finger! Pretty cool but not good for tile installation! What kind of tiles are they? Ceramic or stone? You should be using thinset to install the tile! VCT tile? you should be using VCT contact cement/glue! Remove the tiles, Peel any Glue off the tile and floor (should be very easy to do) and use the proper adhesive for the tile you have!
Q:laying ceramic tiles?
the plywood is a subfloor. after you remove the vinyl. you should lay an underlayment before tiling. check at the tile store for instructions. Don't think you can do a quick cheap job on tiles because the tiles or grout lines will crack and you'll have to redo everything. The subfloor makes for a clean fresh starting surface and should be screwed down every few inches as per instructions.
Q:can I paint over bathroom tile?
You can get tile paint, but I've never seen a good finish with it. It'd be better to change the tiles.
Q:How can you tell the difference between wall tiles and floor tiles?
In the Tile World today people use floor tile as wall tile at times depending on the design of the room. However a Wall Tile is thin in size however it can be thick depending on the type of material it is such as stone, marble, ceramic, etc it comes in all shapes and sizes and generally ranges from 4x4's on up, Floor Tile is always a Thicker more heavier Tile and depending on the design or style it can be 6x6 on up If your not quite sure of the material you have you can take a piece of it to your local home depot or tile shop and ask them. They would be more than happy to answer any and all of your questions
Q:Ceramic floor tiles for counter top?
yes you can use floor tiles, in fact floor tile are harder by their nature ( better clays, higher class rating, dense body structure and longer firing times ), make sure the top is properly prepared for tiles and as someone has mentioned are usally better off cut by wet saw. if you going for floor tiles try porcelian floor tiles extremely durable as they are thee most dense tiles out there offeric the best scratch resistance of any tile
