Q:How to distinguish brand tiles?
Q:Do you think that large, 12X12 tile is just a fad, and in 10 years it will look dated?
Nope. I think tile stays in style no matter what. Ceramic, oak, granite marble will always be in style. I think the glass backsplashes they're doing with the long thin rectangles will be out of style before you can blink though.
Q:what should I use to clean my bathroom tiles?
tile lab makes a heavy duty cleaner and stripper for tiles you can try that.
Q:I want to lift ceramic tiles off bathroom floor and re-use. Whats best method to do this without breaking?
After installing,,,and removing thousands of sq. ft. of tile, I suggest what the others have. Accept that the job will cause loss. It should be pretty obvious why, and I'll give you an abstract example. Once upon a time postage stamps needed to be moistened to stick. If you felt like you wanted to retrieve the stamp and just attempted pulling a dried stamp from an envelope your success rate would be minimal. The difference in this analogy and your situation is that you can't separate tile from mortar, from the sub floor by steaming and unless you flood the area for a good length of time the mortar won't separate either. An even more valid concern is,,, even if you managed some intact tile, you'd have to grind or chip the mortar from the unfinished side, possibly damaging or breaking those tiles you so wanted to save. No offense at all but tile is relatively inexpensive, but sadly rarely able to be matched over any long time span. Any tile job I've ever done includes no less than 3 extra cases of tile, over and above what I consider might be needed in 10 to 15% waste. Certainly if the tiles were expensive, rare, imported one of a kind, decorative, I understand perhaps wanting to salvage them, but you don't state the WHY of your Q, so I can't truly know. Q:What can be done on the walls where the tiles have been posted?
You can look at the hand-painted can not paint, and now also very popular, and can be based on their own love to draw Han on painting Han
Q:grouting ceramic tile?
sounds like you might have small spots of dry grout--that was not wiped off--not the glaze but actual grout and now it is hard-- use a razor blade to remove these spots carefully--or use a 5 in 1 tool--which is not as sharp--but will remove the excess grout--wipe down with damp sponge couple times
Q:How to get the glaze on marble tiles back?
Normal okorder.com
Q:Floor tile dings-how to repair?
Depends on how bad they are. Sounds like you have an very inexpensive tile on the floor or it would not have all the chips/dings. A cheap temporary fix would be to find a paint to match and just touch up. If you're renting, just try that. If you own, you could do that temporarily while you save up. When you replace though, make sure you get a good quality porcelain tile.
Q:where can i get individual tiles cheap?
Most tiles are sold by the square foot,(s/f). But most places like Home Depot and Lowes will sell the small tiles , like the 4 inch tile per piece. I ve seen them as low as 8 cents a pc for basic white and cream ( bone colored) . Matte and high gloss both. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q:how do I lay carpet onto tiles?
I will have to assume you are talking about vinyl tile?? I can't imagine laying carpet over ceramic tiles!!! If your old carpet was wall-to-wall, all you need to do is untangle the old carpet from the needle-like protrusions located next to each wall. You can then lay new wall-to-wall carpet over the old tiles and connect it to the protrusions just like the old carpet was. If you are opting for an area rug, you will need to remove the old tacked-down carpet holders around the perimeter and repair or replace the vinyl tiles that now have holes in them.
