- Q:I have stark white tiles in my kitchen bathroom, would like to spruce it up but I don‘t want it to look like a sticker. Has anyone used these? Do they look cheap, like a sticker on a tile? do they come off easy or do they leave a residue?

- Q:I want to install tile over laminate. How do I do this?
- Do not lay Ceramic tile over the laminatee floor, you must remove the laminat and get to the sub-floor and remove it then put down sheets of durarock on the floor joist. If you are laying it on a concrete floor you must still pull the laminate up and have a clean level surface so the mortar will bond. If you don't remove the laminatee your tile will float on the laminat. Hope this helps.

- ooooh, good luck. Do you have a building material salvage company in your area? People who buy the fittings, etc in old buildings before demo. or remodeling.......are probably your best, if not only bet.
- Q:We recently remodeled our kitchen and are now ready to apply something between the counter and wall cabinets. We are thinking of tile. Our cabinets are a light oak. The counters are a marble looking blend of grey, blue, beige. Our appliances are beige. What color tile would look nice for this? Also, could you use 12x12 tile vs 4x4 or the smaller tile or is smaller tile better? We currently have unpainted drywall. Can you install tile with drywall behind? Or do you need that other type of backing?
- (I prefer the drywall myself.) If you're using ceramic or stone tile, you'll need a backer for the thinset. If you're using stick-on linoleum tiles, just install Luan before the tile. The 4 tiles will look better, but for a beginner, the 12 would be easier to keep straight. Try to come up with a color that matches or refleects the color of the floor.
- Q:on to ceramic tile and was told by ace hardware to use acryl pro ceramic tile adhesive ive layed a few tiles but i dont think its right. need some help, is this the correct procedure?????
- i suggest something on top of the ceramic tile, like plywood or particle board. why do you need tile adhesive if the tiles say self-adhesive?

- Better to use an out side rated tile such as a frost proof tile. But if you live in a warmer climate ( non freezing) you can. In a path way the tiles do need to be rated for foot traffic. This so you don t get sued in a slip and fall.. Rain will not harm tiles at all .. Well maybe acid rain after years and years of exposure.Rain would only effect the bonding material if you use any thing other than a thin set. - Q:I have painstakingly cleaned and restored victorian age tiles in hall (using natural and eco products). Wondering what to seal with? Found few eco tile sealants but wondered if anyone used any without distorting the colour? Thanks :)
- Most tile have a glazed finish so unless it dose not have it,it will be difficult to seal.You don`t mention wheat her its wall or floor tiles,if it wall tiles you might get away with it.If it floor tiles I think it will cause a problem by walk over it.
