Q:Basically I have a 3000watt amp, and I need to buy the right wires. Would I still manage to get the full power out of the amplifier with 1000w speaker wiring kit or do I need to buy a 3000w speaker wiring kit?If so, where is the difference with the higher wattage wiring kits. Thanks
3000w amps are rare and expensive. Is that peak power or rms? Can you provide the brand/model? If it's ACTUALLY 3000w rms you need a high output electrical system with a custom alternator and probably a 2nd battery, and at a MINIMUM you need a GOOD quality 1/0 awg wiring kit. On the other hand - if this is 3000w peak the actual power (rms) could be as low as a few hundred watts. Amps this size will run w/o a problem with most stock electrical systems. A good 4 awg wiring kit would probably be more than adequate. Many lower level brands use bogus peak ratings to make their equipment appear to be more powerful than it actually is. Wiring is based simply on the thickness of the copper. Some of the cheap brands are less than honest about the size of their wiring. They get around advertising regulations by only using the word gage or gauge, not the wire standard AWG. If the wire you use is too small it will have excessive voltage drop so the amp will not be able to produce the power it would otherwise. More importantly, in extreme cases if the wire isn't fused properly it can get hot, melt the insulation off and become a fire hazard.
Q:Hello! I'm going to re-wire my speakers and eventually get an amp to power them. For normal quot;door speakerswhat wire size would you recomend to run to them from an amp? Also, is 3ft far enough away to run my speaker wires from the amp power wire? Thanks in advance!
I would use 16 gauge. you can go a little bigger, or smaller. The biggest issue you will have ( vehicle depending ) is getting that wire thru your accordion boot and molex ( the rubber thingy that protects your wires, shaped like an S, and goes from the chassis to the door) <~ that's not talking down to you, but if other people read this, they will know exactly what it means also :D Unless your running a ton of power to your doors, you really don't need thick wires. As to the other part, It's not the speaker wire you need to keep away from your power wire, it's your RCA cables.. The rule is power wire goes down the battery side of the vehicle, and the rca's and remote turn on, go down the opposite side, if possible. That way you don't get alternator whine( when you accelerate, a high pitched whine will play thru your system, and make you Bat-S#it crazy :) Good Luck!
Q:Or speaker wire that has an RCA plug on one end?If you know of something that is inexpensive without me having to get another preamp, please help.(this is for a turntable preamp by the way, my preamp only has RCA output.)
You can't connect speakers directly to a turntable preamp. You need an amp.
Q:i heard there are many diferent copper wire but i only know 2 kinds.1 is for eletric and the other is for crafts. So what else is there?
Copper wire is a metal and is used in electric and electronics compounds. so, that it can flow electricity very easily as it is a good conductor of elctricity, this is a type of a metal in which there are many type of content present in the same and it is cadmium free copper as well as also know with the name Electrolyte Copper which is 100% pure. There are many types of copper wire like:- Plain copper wire Tin-coated copper wire Braided copper wire Tinsel copper wire Bunched copper wire Braided copper wire etc.. Q:u said when i buy a jvc wiring harness one end plugs in the back of cd player and the wires coming out of that connect to the wires in car will they be the same color though? right now there is a harness already on the cd player and the wires are on it and they are pretty long i thought i just wire those wires from it to the ones in car but they diff. colors
Do you have a wiring diagram for your car? In there, they have the color codes for the speakers, dash illumination ( so when you change the lighting on your dash, your radio will change too), power attena, constant power for the clock and presets. If you don't have the diagram, check online for it. If you bought your deck from crutchfield, they include plugs that fit your car so you dont have to cut wires. Good lluck with it.
Q:I got a ventilation fan for the bathroom. The fan has 2 wires and there are 2 wires sticking out of the wall. How do I know which wire connects to which wire? What would happen if I connect the wrong wires?
The fan will run no matter which way the wires are connected. The AC that is going to run the fan has no specific polarity like DC does. The only question would be safety. See if there's a green screw anywhere on a metal part of the fan. If there is, you should run a ground wire to it. There might not be, and in that case, because the fan only has 2 wires, it must be double insulated and will pose no shock hazard. You've probably seen electric drills with no ground wire. These are double insulated and are safe to use without a ground wire.
Q:my rabbit is chewing wires and in one area in my room there are like 300 wires i was just wondering if i can spray something on the wires cause i thought i saw something that said that please help!!!!
I agree with Astrid. My rabbit does not chew on wires, but she insist on grabbing the bars of her cage at 4am, and shaking the heck out of them, so before I go to bed I put bitter apple on the bars.
Q:Three parallel wires are each carrying a 4A current. ; wire A) is 6 mm from wire B) which is 3mm from wire C); The current in wires B and C are out of the paper, while A is into the paper. What is the magnitude and direction of the magnetic field halfway between wires A and B?I have tried using Biot-Savart Law but keep getting it wrong can someone please help? I also have an equation for two parallel wires but how do I relate it to two?
You can use the Biot-Savart Law, but it is confusing and kind of a waste of your time and space. For straight wires, someone ALREADY worked out the Biot-Savart Law. See the following link for the result: hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/Hba... The formula of interest for us is B = mu0*I/(2*Pi*r) where mu0 is magnetic permeability of free space, I is current, and r is distance from the wire carrying the current. B is the magnetic field due to that PARTICULAR wire. To deal with three wires, use a superposition principle and stack magnetic fields on top of each other. Do be aware of direction: remember the right hand rule. RH rule for magnetic fields in vicinity of wires: point thumb in direction of current, curl fingers to show the magnetic field circulation direction. Use this sign convention: + B is up along page, -B is down along page For Wire A: point of interest is r = d_ab/2 or 0.003 m to the right of wire A Point thumb in to the paper and the finger curl indicates that B_A is downward B_A = -mu0*I_A/(pi*d_ab) For Wire B: point of interest is r = d_ab/2 or 0.003 m to the left of wire B Point thumb out of the paper and the finger curl indicates that B_B is downward B_B = -mu0*I_B/(pi*d_ab) For wire C: point of interest is r = d_ab/2 + d_bc or 0.006 m to the left of wire C Point thumb out of the paper and the finger curl indicates that B_C is downward B_C = -mu0*I_C/(2*pi*(d_ab/2 + d_bc)) Add up: Bnet = B_A + B_B + B_C Bnet = -mu0*I_A/(pi*d_ab) - mu0*I_B/(pi*d_ab) - mu0*I_C/(2*pi*(d_ab/2 + d_bc)) Simplify: Bnet = -mu0/pi*(I_A/d_ab + I_B/d_ab + I_C/(d_ab + 2*d_bc)) data: mu0:=4*Pi*10^(-7) Tesla-m/A; I_A:=4 A; I_B:=4 A; I_C:=4 A; d_ab:=0.006 m;d_bc:=0.003 m; Result: Bnet = -6.667 milliTeslas negative sign indicates downward direction.
Q:putting new plug on wire. which wire connectswhere?
The wide prong is neutral and should connect to the white wire. The narrow plug is hot and should connect to the black wire. If the wires are not colored black and white and are instead in a traditional flat insulated power cord with an indentation between the two wires, feel both sides for a rib on one side that isn't there on the other side. the ribbed side is neutral. For a pair without a rib, but where you can see that one wire is copper colored and one is silver, the copper color is hot and the silver is neutral. Same goes for the screws you attach to on plugs or outlets not marked hot and neutral, copper or gold color usually is hot and silver is neutral. If all screws are the same color, this does not apply. Anyone can wire the existing system backwards or inconsistently, so do not rely on the convention for safety issues, just observe it for your own work and correct problems when you find them if you can do so safely. If not, consult an expert.
Q:Is it okay to solder wrapping wire to a mother board, I am just asking because the wires are called WRAPPING.
except you're honestly helpful that the solder is lead unfastened, do no longer use it. Plumbing solder is ordinarily lead unfastened yet electric and sturdy sheet metallic solder pick no longer be. and that i'm uncertain how mind-blowing tin, the different important element of solder, is in terms of leaving black marks on the floor even however somewhat risk-free.
