Q:I have a 2001 2500HD duramax and it is leaking antifreeze under the truck. I leaks a a drop every second what could be causing this

If you can narrow down the location to being from the actual water pump and not a line, It would be the seal in the water pump. The only option is to replace the water pump.

Q:Even when all water is shut off in the camper, my water pump keeps running. Even when the tank is completely empty. Does anyone know what is causing this?

I might be miss-understanding your question. If you have no water in the tank then the pump will run all the time because you won't build enough pressure in the system to shut it off. There should be a switch to turn it off manually. If your system has water in it and pump still won't shut off then it could be several different things: 1. Pump is bad and leaking internally... do you have good pressure at the faucet? 2. There should be a pressure cut-out switch somewhere near the pump. This switch should shutoff the pump when the ideal pressure is reached and prevent the pump from over pressurizing the system. Make sure it is not stuck closed. (May have to remove to test) Check for continuity across the terminals with pressure with the pressure on and off. If it doesn't' change... replace. 3. You could have a leak somewhere in the system not allowing the system to build pressure. 4. There may be a pressure relief valve somewhere in the system that is stuck open and dumping your pressure back into the suction side of the pump. Good Luck!

Q:It has a small leak that started this day and it has 60000 miles on it , also new or rebuilt . What is the appr. cost tohave a shop do it ?

Its not hard at all but you do have to have that special tool which is around $60.00. But if you are crafty you can make your own, easily. Don't go for a rebuilt one get a new own. Make sure that it is level before putting it on. We put one on my Z71 and found out it was slightly warped and had to go exchange it after trying to get it tight enough and never could.

it would,nt be the heater core because it,s a good ways from the water pump. it might be that the water pump gasket slipped when you were putting it on or the by-pass hose is bad or loose. check all the hoses like both radiator hoses and where the heater hoses hook up to the block.

Why not share mainly because the two impurities contained in the water system: fire hydrant system requirements of different impurities in the water spray system requirements loose, but more stringent requirements, therefore, the former can be welded steel pipe, the latter must use galvanized pipe, the purpose is to prevent rust plug flow indicator or end of the spray head.

Q:A pump is said to be capable of pumping water up to 100 meters, but I don't want to confirm that by actually putting up a very long pipe to that height. I know that pressure is related to height, so putting pressure at the output end of the pump would simulate different heights. Any suggestions how I can rig a contraption to do this? Thanks.

*you can go by the 1st answer as pressure gauge near the pump discharge would give a maximum pressure inclusive of losses. As the losses are more[due to piping congetion or rasistance from the equipment to which it is pumping.] then the discharge head will be decreased. *Simply, in case of a centrifugal pump,close the discharge valve fully for a moment and check the discharge pressure. This is the maximum pressure ,your pump will pump. *Dont do this if the pump is positive displacement pump/regenerative turbine pump. Edit: Discharge head means pumping height in your case.
