the ceiling tile with no keels.(there are keels inside it but you can't see them cuz they're hidden),so how do you call this kind of ceilig tile?
Sorry Yangyang, but I don't understand the meaning of keels in the ceiling tiles. There is a style of ceiling called a dropped ceiling where a metal grid framework (often white) hangs lower than the original ceiling and square, often white tiles are placed inside the grid. If any wires or repairs need to be done above the dropped ceiling they can just push up on a tile, do the repairs and then drop the tile back into place. It is seen often in office or industrial spaces and occasionally in residential. It is fairly modern. An older style of ceiling treatment know as a tin ceiling tiles are an antique metal patterned and textured tile that are attached directly onto the ceiling. They are found in old and often expensive homes and sometimes restaurants. Although they are an antique (starting in the 1800s) you can still buy plastic or metal ones to add to a home giving it an old style charm. Are either of these what you are looking for?
What is the keel of the external wall insulation
External wall insulation can use light steel keel. Light steel keel structure of the house mainly in the form of external insulation, that is, insulation layer on the outside of the wall. I would rather not drywall the ceiling to provide future access to wiring and ductwork. What could be used to reduce overall noise? I am most concerned about the master bedroom, which is right above the area being finished, as there will be a home theatre system installed.
I believe if noise reduction is better with a drop ceiling. (Plus if your pipes leak, you only have to replace a tile or two not have the celing redone) We just recently had our basement refinished. We did a drop ceiling with a basic tile and there is significant noise reduction. You can buy an acoustic tiles that will reduce the noise even further. It is a bit unattractive (very chunky looking) but if you really want to control the noise that may be the way to go.
i found mold in one of my buildings and would like to be able to get rid of it. its localized in the ceiling above the ceiling grid above the bathroom. how do i get rid of it to make the area safer to use. is it necessary to hire a professional or is there something i can do myself to save money.
First correct the water problem causing the mold growth or it will keep returning no matter what kind/type of clean-up you are doing. If the mold covers a large area you may want to have a remediation expert inspect the property and have it corrected to avoid liability/lawsuit in the future if it's a rental property
