- Q: I recently purchased a new power cable for my HP laptop (v6000 series) due to the disappearance of my old one. When I first plugged in the laptop, I noticed that it did not charge. I thought this might just be due to the fact that the battery has been dead for an extensive amount of time, but after leaving the computer plugged in over night, nothing has changed.What can I do to make my laptop's battery charge?Do I need to have a more powerful power cable?Thank you all for your help.
- by power cable im assuming you made sure to purchase the correct model, and that you mean the cable, along with the transformer connected to it? (ac plug transformer cord laptop) if everything's plugged in, your charge icon on your laptop should let you know with some sort of animated plugged in/charging icon. if the charger is known to be good, then unfortunately you may have a loose/bad dc receptacle in your laptop. the port where you plug in the cable sometimes comes loose from wear and tear and the connection fails. try gently jiggling it around to see if it comes on when its plugged in. if it is bad, you can take it to a computer tech shop and they can fix it. just a thought.

- you need to consider 2 things. 1. check the pin-out. the cable should match the connector on your mother board. 2. make sure you have atleast 600~750Watts power on the new power supply.

- its not smart to attach anything to your 12v power on the dvd line it can cause problems to your 360 and your dvd drive. get your 12v directly from the power socket .

- Some 750ti's need more power, some don't - you have to check the card itself. Here's so helpful info - Computers are built with a power supply just barely able to power them as they are. A video card of any kind requires an upgrade of the power supply. If you don't upgrade the power supply, very nasty things can happen (I found this out the hard way! :O). Even the video cards that don't have extra power connections can draw up to 75 watts from the motherboard - that power has to come from somewhere! :D I recommend 750 watts, major name brand, semi-modular or full modular, 80+ rated, single 12 volt rail, active PFC, and so on. It's always best to have more power than you need. Power supplies are happiest running below their maximum, and they live much longer lives. You don't want to have to buy a whole new power supply in a few years just because you skimped today, do you? :O You MUST buy a power supply to feed your system plus video card! :) REMEMBER - Even the video cards that don't have extra power connections can draw up to 75 watts from the motherboard!! :O ~Helpful ~Cindy! :)

- Do NOT play guessing games with this. If you use one of a higher rating or worse with reverse polarity input you will totally destroy the laptop.

- Actually, There is no Different. The Point is make sure that the Cable to use for server is the Proper Cable to use for long term usage, and can plug properly to the Server.
