Q: I was playing Call of Duty Black ops when i looked down at my mess of cables. I have a lamp the also plugs into the same power outlet. When i looked down my lamp(that i leave on 10 out of 24 hours of the day) had this white stuff on it. I didn't think too much of it at that time but i looked at it again later and i was nervous that it could be dangerous. Anyone have any idea's as to what it could and if it is dangerous? Will it continue to spread? I don't want my ps3 to be destroyed. I looked on the internet and it sounds like Battery post corrosion. Not sure though. Thank you very much.: dont use it unless you want a fire, get a new lamp from IKEA for $8. its better than burning your house down lol ya its some sort of corrosion. dont risk it bro

Q: I don't know what kin d of power cord i would need in order to make it work. I thought all monitors needed the same power cable, but im not sure.: You will need a normal Computer Power cable. files.sandberg.it/products/images... look at the back of your computer, and see the cable that plugs into the mains. You will need the very same cable.

Q: Today I was using my pc, it was running awfully slow so I restarted and it kept flashing quot;Power cable has not been attached to your video cardquot;. So I turned it off and flicked the master switch on the back of the pc and sure enough it turned on. But it was all low resolution and said no ati driver is installed. I reinstalled all the ATI files and drivers and restarted and the same error message came up. I then flicked the switch on the back and it booted up. I have also checked the Hardware manager and it says for the Graphics card quot;Can not start (error 10)quot;. So what I think is that the pSU is not supplying enough power to the graphics card, so the pc switches to iGP, I have a funny fealing it's the PSU, not the GPU...: Well, just to be sure, check out this site and examine the capacitors on your motherboard (esp. around the video card slot), on the video card itself, and the ones that you can see inside the PSU. I think that you will find one or more that are bulging...

Q: i just got a junked up PS2 and i'm taking it apart to see what all is wrong with it and do a thorough cleaning of everything inside and i discovered that the problem is the power eject ribbon cable is tattered. is there anyway i can make a homemade style cable or repair the old one. i know there are like 5 to 10 bucks but im a major cheapa$$ so to say so any tips or tricks???: Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

Q: I just bought the 8800gt, but i don't have the cable to connect it to the power supply.So what cable do i need ??I found those but i am not sure: If you want to find out what cables you need there are two ways. 1. check the manual or guide that came with the device to see if it says what cables you need. 2. take the device with to a hardware or electronics store and ask the clerks there to help you find the right cables for you're device.

Q: Will it work if I put a pigtail (connect the wires by twisting them together) or does that stop it from working properly..: It is possible to reconnect a severed cable... but unless you know what you are doing and have the special tools and parts to make a proper splice, I would not attempt to do so. The current passing through the laptop transformer is pretty high voltage stuff. If you should happen to cross-connect or develop a short across your splice, you could get a nasty shock, fry your computer or even start a fire. Electricity can be tricky stuff. Make sure you know what you are doing or you, your computer or the both of you could end up in a very bad way. In the long run, you're much better off simply buying a new replacement power supply. Good luck! ***ADDITIONAL*** If the battery light is constantly blinking, the battery in the computer could be dead as well (not surprising given the state of the charger). You probably need to replace both the battery and the charger.

Q: JUST the cable modem and router, not the whole PC. This is for the internet/ phone service.: There's no way of saying without further information. You need to know the amount of power provided by the UPS battery as well as the power drain by the cable modem and router to calculate this accurately. Generally speaking, a standard household model of cable modem and router do not pull a lot of power. Just ballparking it, since the power drain from both is fairly low...A UPS 750 will probably support the two devices together for about 45 minutes to nearly an hour...assuming NOTHING else is plugged into the UPS and using power from it. Be aware, however, that your local ISP will also be on backup or generator power...during an extended outage from a hurricane or serious snowstorm...sooner or later, they will go down too. .

Q: I'm extending one of my PSU power cables because is to short. the line got 2 black/1 yellow and 1 red (molex) I know the colors have to be matched but if at the other end I end up mixing the 2 black lines, will there be a problem?ps: I already sleeved the cable for that matter I can't see the 2 black cables inside and i forgot to mark them. :): swapping the black wires will not cause any problems.
