Q: I am planning on installing a new floor in the kitchen of a very old house. The current floor is not level. On one end, its about an inch higher than the other end. Is it possible to level the entire floor with the self leveling concrete mix or some other form of self leveling liquid?
Instead of using concrete because you would be adding more weight to your floor and your floor might not be able to handle the weight. You could put in a false floor. Depending on the pitch. You would be ripping 2x4 (or which ever size that you would use) on the angle that your floor pitches. These would be like the floor joist below. Then lay some new plywood on top. This way you wouldn't have as much weight added to your floor. If you still want to use a more denser product you could add support to your floor from the basement or crawl space below. Good luck
Q: A)SubductionB)ConvectionC)RidgingD)Sea- Floor Spreading**Please and Thank you?
D) Sea-Floor Spreading Choices A, B, and C do have to do with oceanic spreading, but are not the direct manner in which the new seafloor is formed. Sea-floor spreading is the volcanic activity at oceanic ridges that actually creates new seafloor.
Q: I love zombie games and I like Nazi Zombies for the Xbox 360, I want to play Killing Floor, or Fort Zombie. Is Killing floor a good game for $20, or the bundle for $30, (which should I get if I get this?) Or what are some other good zombie games where you have to survive for as long as possible or of that genre?
Left 4 Dead, has a Survival mode.
Q: I am looking at putting down flooring thoughout my home.I am curious to know which is the best the laminated flooring or the snap together flooring.I have carpet down now in most of the rooms with the exception of the bathrooms kithchen and utilitie rooms.
If it's going to get wet a lot or if you have inside dogs, think about going ceramic tile.
Q: Do stages have sprung floors. I heard it is bad to dance on a floor that doesn't give any. So if the stage isn't sprung you could get injured. So do they have sprung floors? Thanks in advance!
No they don't. But that is why we use our plié. So we don't get injured, but get the same spring.
Q: need instructions for installing laminate flooring.
Clean, peel & stick! Otherwise buy engineered hard wood floors for less than $2.00 a square foot at Floor and Decor.
Q: Can you also give an example on what things are to be placed in a floor plan and floor finish plan. Thanks!
Floor plan is the whole layout of the house from bird's eye view. Floor finish is what you use to make the floors look good.
Q: I walked into the bathroom floor of my renters house this morning, and there was no floor. Just some dirt. Then I walked into their living room, and the carpet had turned brown. There were also snails and slugs in it, and dirt. Is there something that could have caused this so rapidly? It seems so unlikely, and I think they're lying to me, but I don't know. Help?
sounds like it got a lot of moisture in it about 75 years ago and was never fixed
Q: Dogs had a peeing problem in the middle of my floor and over time the sides of the flooring have come up. Is it possible to sand it down then stain it? P.S. Dont want to replace the entire floor.
Pergo flooring is not natural wood. It is very hard and therefore will be hard to stain. Older pergo flooring was installed by gluing the boards together and the newer type are installed by 'clicking' the boards together. Hope this info helps.
Q: my mom is low on money and wants me to fix the floor by putting the tiles in our unfinished basement. i haven't done this before and i want some suggestions on how to do it and any advice i should know about doing this. its going to be the first floor put down in my basement so i wont have to tear anything out.
gbhofgh, I strongly recommend using basement tiles to do the job, they are a bit more water resistant and can absorb as they say a good shock. Heres what you do, visit the site Im giving you below and then post another question on the ionstallation methods, dont forget to ask your mum about it.
