Q:my garden is a mess i mean theirs dried up leaves everywhere, it's not maintained, etc..etc.. the plants in their are dying, pretty much is a mess and i want to fix it up to plant my tomatoes in their.how do i go about doing this? of course i will need to clean up the dried up clippings which i will do tommorrow or at least try but how do i go about with the dirt? never planted in the ground before.i wont be planting in them soon but i want to start cleaning it up as this isn't my garden but my grandpa's and he really doesn't maintain it like i said it's pretty much a trash bin.

Q:Some A$$H0LE applied pesticides to my entire home garden, and left a pesticides application sign. I want to know if the vegetables I grew are still safe to eat after I clean it.

It's really sick that someone did that without your permission! First foremost you need to know what pesticide was used. With most spray pesticides, just delay harvesting by a few days, then wash the veggies well in warm soapy water you should be good to go.

Q:I have a kitten but I went out of town and my parents kept it at their house. When I got home I was swarmed with fleas. I have fogged my house three times and there seems to be less but they are still there. I don't what else to do besides hire a professional but I don't have the money to pay one. I also understand I need to spray outside but it continues to rain.

I bought foggers for fleas from a local vet that solved my infestation in a very old house. They worked great. Sorry it was so long ago I don't know the chemical or brand. But the trick, according to the vet is the timing and to bomb the house twice. It MUST be done between 10 and 12 days apart to be effective. That allows time for all the eggs to hatch and before they can reproduce at 14 days or so. Bomb the second time too soon and eggs will hatch and reinfect. Bomb too late and the hatched fleas will lay more eggs and you are back to where you were. That worked for me. Good Luck PS, that 100 year old house had a spider problem as well and I didn't see a spider for a year after using those bombs.

Q:We are purchasing our home from our landlord and they have to do an appraisal.The house is fine and I am not really worried about except for the fact that my backyard has a ton of flower gardens and I have not had time to weed them. Do I need to hire someone to help me clean them up before they come?Also, Do they go through your closets and stuff like that?Thanks.

The appraiser is not supposed to take things like weeds into account- but there are several places where the abstract judgment of the appraiser does play a part. If the appraiser really likes or really does not like your house it may make a small difference.
