- I guess the main thing is to look out for the warranty like where the warranty is claimed and the process of claim, how efficient the inverter of the system is and also make sure you are getting value for your money.
- Q:Do higher watt solar panels last longer, efficiency-wise? 3 installers gave me quotes with 3 different sunpower panels. The 225, 25, 20 watt panels. Whats the con and pro's of the different wattages?
- There is no difference between them besides their rated output. One may physically fit on you roof better than another, or look better, although the physical difference between those sizes is minimal. Go with whichever installer you trust, and is preferably NABCEP certified, or working towards NABCEP certification. Get references. Don't believe just because someone is an electrician they know how to install solar electric, it's a whole different animal. Make sure they are trained in installing solar.
- Q:I have this question for extracredit and I dont get it?How many 2V,2W PV panels would be required to supply a load that requires a 48-volt supply that can push at least 2.8 amps of current, if you assume each panel puts out A at 2 V? And how are the panels configured to supply the power requirements of the load?
- 4 in series for the 48V, a rack of 3 sets wired in parallel to give the current. (total of 2 panels)

- A decent installation needs a solar engineer to make sure the panels are aligned to take advantage of all the solar it can get. that or You need to hit the books on solar radiation. online I would try different programs to get the feel. we get less solar radiating in the winter then in the summer. this needs to correctly compensated.

Set the output voltage to 9V and use the 2V cigarette socket outlet, and plug the airline adaptor cable in. Can you simply use an AC inverter? Not direct from the solar panel... a solar panel is not able to drive an inverter. But you could plug an AC inverter into a solar storage battery pack if it is designed to support inverters. BUT, an inverter will waste 20-30% of your power in the conversion to AC which your laptop will be converting back to DC anyway, so best to stick to DC and save your solar investment from the losses. Summary... 0 Watts of solar per hour of laptop use (May-Sep) 50 Watt-Hours of solar battery storage per hour of laptop use Use a solar battery pack with appropriate output voltages built-in, and avoid AC inverters. This is probably a longer answer than you were expecting, but knowledge is power. Cheers.

A chain of stores up here in Canada have a portable battery pack that has a solar panel to increase its charge capacity or duration, but its not something you would want to lug around for long periods of time, because is weights in about 3 lbs.
