- Q: I need to replace the black thing that you push the buttons on to open the door and trunck. I replaced the battery and it still doesnt work where do I find a new one??
- Ask for the programming instructions just in case.
- Q: My '05 Mustang is cycling the automatic door locks while I'm driving!!? This just started and it seems like it
- Isn't it still under warranty? take it to the dealership
- Q: Won't automatically open when you approach it?
- Only if I'm approaching it quickly.
- Q: Induction of automatic doors why no one will open their own, the company's sensors are automatic glass door, someone in the past or out will be open, why no one will pass through the open automatically?
- The problem is largely due to the high sensitivity of the probe, you can observe the inside and outside the probe, when the door closed when you look at which probe indicator (usually bright red) from green to red And some are orange), which is the light of which is the problem, the solution is also very simple, you just remove the probe shell, the circuit board on the potentiometer can be adjusted counterclockwise. Or the antenna up breaking off like!
- Q: I have an "Over Head Legacy Garage door opener. It sometimes opens on its own. I had an electrician come out and look at it. He took took it apart and cleaned it and put the antenna on the inside but it still does it. Granted it doesn't happen every day but once is too many times, I don't know how old the unit is since it came with the house. My home was built in '97 I moved into it in Oct. of '09. Could it be time to buy a new one? (experts only please)
- It's possible that someone else in your neighborhood has a garage door with the same or similar wireless code. See if your model allows for the remote and receiver to be re-coded. To check if this is correct, drive or walk the block and try your remote in front of other homes. If it works, you may want to warn that person and see if he or she can change their remote code if yours can't. They may be wondering why their garage opens now and again as well! It's also possible that the switch on your wall is sticking intermittently and therefor is not releasing completely after it is depressed (and I don't mean sad). Try pressing it repeatedly to determine if it feels like it is returning smoothly. If it feels sticky at all make sure there are no obstructions around the edge of the button (dirt and grease buildup). If it looks clean, but still feels like it sticks a bit, try a little silicone spray (NOT oil or WD40 etc.) around the edge of the button to get it to move freely. Also, follow the wire from your wall mounted switch or any other switch that is attached to the opener. If you observe any breaks or kinks in those thin wires, you may find your intermittent problem there. If the switches are normally closed and the circuit is interrupted, it thinks the button is being pushed. If there is enough slack in the wire, simply cut and splice the wire and re-insulate it to re-establish the connection. Be sure to match the polarity which should be marked with a color or stripe on the insulation or possibly one silver and one gold tone wire inside the insulation. Hope this helps.
- Q: spilled coke on automatic door locks, now they stick. HELP?
- My first thought would be to spray a silicone based product into the lock to lubricate the locks, but that also may not be the best idea. Perhaps when the liquid (Coke) completely dries, the stickiness will eventually wear off. Good luck with that. Maybe changing the rules about food and drinks in the car may need to be ammended in your household.
- Q: The little wire that sticks out to receive the signal from the remote...can I make it longer by splicing it with something? Mine is acting up. I have it pointing outside but it seems to work only sometimes. I hear cold weather affects it as well.
- What are the make, model, and age? Some do somewhat illegal things to the transmitter for distance but those things depend on the above three items. And yes you might make things worse by changing the antenna. Try new batteries in your remotes.
- Q: It is also infrared detection
- Automatic door must be closed automatically every time you open the door
- Q: We have a Chrysler town & country van that is about 5 years old. It has automatic doors where you press a button to open the sliding side doors, but recently one of the doors gets stuck in the middle and you have to push the door the rest of the way. We cannot see anything stuck on the track and we have tried oiling it, but as time goes on place where the door stops is gradually moving. Any ideas on what the problem is? Thanks!
- The wiring harness for the door (it looks like a plastic bicyle chain) has a broken wire. When the door slides back to a certain point, the wire comes apart. Replacement should be about $150-200 dollars. If you are handy, you can try to open up the harness and repair the broken wires.
- Q: I have a 2 car steal roll up door with a Genie 1024. It's by far the slowest opener I've seen. On my 3rd door I have an old American Door co opener and it's at least twice as fast. The springs on the door are well balanced. I tested them by disconnecting the opener and ensuring I could open the door by hand with just two fingers. Is there some sort of speed adjustment? BTW it's been slow since the day it was installed.
