Q: Are plastic tubes suitable for use in the marine industry?
Yes, plastic tubes are suitable for use in the marine industry. Plastic tubes are lightweight, durable, and resistant to corrosion, making them ideal for various applications in marine environments. They are commonly used for fluid transfer, electrical insulation, and structural supports in boats, ships, and offshore structures. Plastic tubes also have good resistance to chemicals and UV radiation, further enhancing their suitability for marine applications.
Q: 2001 mustang
All intake tubes are just simple tubes. They perform all the same. I have cheapy intakes on my Civic and they work great. The reason short (cold) air intakes work is NOT because they are engineered well. NO! It is because the original air box were so restrictive - due to noise restrictions. Just make sure you DON'T get metal tube intakes. The get heat soaked and significally warm up the air. The intakes make of PVC (or plastic) gets warm but will not release its heat to the air as much. === If you really want performance gain, you should also do the header pipes (if the mustand did not come with factory pipes). Long time ago, people most did exhaust header pipes only. Besides the intake is artificially RESTRICTED by the butterfly at the throttle. So the intake only makes a difference on WIDE OPEN THROTTLE acceleration. Good Luck... P.S. Just make sure you get intake pipes DESIGNED for your car. Otherwise they would expect you to some customizing like cutting and drilling, etc.
Q: How are plastic tubes measured and specified?
Plastic tubes are typically measured and specified based on their outer diameter (OD), inner diameter (ID), and length. The OD and ID are measured using micrometers or calipers, while the length is measured using a measuring tape or ruler. The specifications are often indicated in millimeters or inches. Additionally, the thickness of the tube's wall may also be specified, as it can affect its strength and durability.
Q: How do i distill alcohol? Do i need copper tubing or can i use different tubing for the home distiller?
It is preferable to use stainless steel. Copper is ok and will be the easiest to bend, but make sure it has no soldered joints as solder contains lead which is extremely toxic. Copper may also give off a taint for the first couple of runs and any time it is left unused for a while. Plastic/rubber tubing may not stand the heat and may release other toxins into the brew. Not sure about glass, probably at risk of it shattering and it would be an expensive lab set up. Make sure you do your research on this, as in the process of distilling alcohol, the first hundred mls of distillate is toxic to humans and needs to be discarded.
Q: Is home tap water iron or plastic good?
In the past, pipes used for water supply were mainly cast iron pipes. Outside the main use sand mold cast iron pipe, indoor use is galvanized iron pipe. However, due to the use of a few years later, it is easy to produce a large number of rust, bacteria, and seriously endanger the health of the human body. The state has set out in June 1, 2000 to eliminate sand casting pipe fittings and cold galvanized iron pipes, and gradually limit the use of hot cast iron pipes, and promote the use of aluminum plastic composite pipes, new plastic pipes and so on.
Q: I use a length of plastic tubing and after using it for a while (few months) it changed from clear to opaque. It had been exposed to heat, alcohol and water, nothing else. If you know why it changed colors please fill me in. Also, I would like to know if it is changed chemically that might effect things traveling through it or if it is merely a cosmetic change and I can ignore it for the most part.
If the plastic tubing was exposed to heat, then the resultant color change was most like due to a disruption in the chemical lattice of the plastic. A plastic is basically a polymer or group of polymers (polymer=same chemical compound repeated over and over again). When heat or another energy source is apllied, it has the ability to alter the polymer structure. Think of a polymer in similar terms as a crystal; all of the compounds in the plastic will align themselves in a similar way as the previous compound. When you do this with minerals, you end up with a clear or partially clear crystal. The same basic principal applies to polymers (plastics). Hope this helps!! P.S. some chemicals have the same ability to alter the plastic, same as an enrgy source..
Q: I hate the plastic tubes. They're fiddly awkward to use, especially as they get near running out. Metal was SOOO much easier. Just roll up the tube it stays rolled up. Just squeeze the metal it doesn't pop right up as soon as you release the pressure, but stays down. Basically metal packaging was right for the job. Plastic tubes are a poor, inadequate alternative, I hate them.It can't be due to cost, since so many drinks are still sold in metal cans, if it was down to the cost all the metal cans would be replaced with cheaper plastic alternatives, but they're not.So what is the reason it's only plastic for toothpaste now?
It is due to cost. Drinks used to be sold in steel cans and glass bottles, now they are sold in aluminum cans and plastic bottles, due to cost. You can buy a plastic clip to put on the toothpaste tube to solve your problem.
Q: How can I make plastic pipes harden quickly?
You say this kind of plastic pipe is PVC tube, it will harden in cold weather, and it will harden for a long time. Because of the hardening of the temperature, do not worry, the temperature will rise back, will return to normal, because this is the characteristics of PVC plastic. With a long hardening, this is the aging phenomenon, due to ultraviolet radiation and oxidation caused by irreversible reactions.
Q: What are the common lengths of plastic tubes used for interior design?
The common lengths of plastic tubes used for interior design can vary, but typically they come in lengths of 4 feet, 6 feet, and 8 feet.
Q: Can PVC pipes be used with drinking water?
At present, the domestic PVC processing is good and bad, there may be lead salt as a stabilizer for the water supply pipe.It is safe to use PVC water pipes that are not guaranteed by lead salts as stabilizers. Its physical and chemical properties still have advantages in plastic pipes.
